Here are some cross country tips: 1: Run Conservatively, meaning like, don't EVER be one of those people who SPRINT in the beginning, there Lactate will build up quickly, (Lactate is pain), kinda jog but a little faster in the beginning, so you can wipe out the people who sprinted in the beginning by the end. 2: Week prior to your race, eat fruits, vegetables, Chicken, Almonds, Lot's of Healthy choices, I also recommend water and Gatorade for electrolytes. (Gatorade is a good liquid to consume on the way to the meet, lets say on the way there) 3: Stick to the same meals the day before your race, since your body is use to the foods and liquids your consuming, your body knows how to conserve the energy. 4: Do muscle building workouts, muscle will help you get faster, though there could be cons to building muscle, but this is optional. 5: Have fun! Don't tell yourself you can't do it, because you can, you need to train your mind to tell you that you CAN do it! Your body is more than capable to do it, your mind is whats not capable, so tell yourself you can do ANYTHING, cause you can!
well you want to go out fast or you'll get left in the dust. I also heard somewere that the first 7 seconds of a race won't make you any more tired no matter how long you run, so you gotta go out pretty fast in the beggining.
I’m a cross country runner and usually I find it easier to run on cement, even though it’s usually not an option. it’s just faster, more stable, and flatter! :)
I run 3 1/2 miles , and I’m in middle school (7th grade) but I’m on the high school team , of your on the middle school team you run 2 1/2 miles . But it’s not the same in every state !
Sofia Redfox thank you, I asked this question before my first season started, which is officially starting this week, but I’ve been attending summer practices and found out we are running 3Ks, which is equal to 1.8 miles. I was trying to figure out my race length, but thank you so much for your answer!

Why did they make them run on the cement when there's grass all around
I'd imagine that maybe that was there choice because typically cement is faster to run on but I could be wrong.
@@livm3161 you’re right but it’s xc which is typical ran on grass and harsh terrain as part of the challenge
cement is faster than grass so thats not necessarily a bad thing

What’s your 5k time
in my middle school you do a 3k, and in highschool you do a 5k.
@@hudsonpetrie1301 3k's are like 1 1/2 miles which is so easy compared to a 5k
As a grown ass adult.. these girls probably run faster and farther than I can.
I'd be that one person walking.
Why don't you'll make a movie,I love cross country.
Ok but middle school XC compared to high school XC, man oh man rip
Fr for middle school in our district they run like 1.6 miles for a race while our high school runs 3 miles usually so kinda big gap

Sofia Redfox in Canada, middle school/ elementary school meets were around 1-1.5 miles, & hot dayum it was easy
They are running in this race
how far did y’all run?
Probably 1 mile
Middle school XC runs a 3k (1.8) high school does a 5k (3.1) and college tends to do 5ks or 10ks depends on athletic ability
That one kid was me ha
Which one kid ?? Theirs a million, lol

What’s the times
Luke Richter probably like 13 minutes 😂
BRADY KIM if they’re as fast as my team the slowest times will be around 18 minutes and I think my team is pretty average
@Brady Kim they’re running a mile, I used to go there and sixth graders would run a mile with 7th and 8th running a 3k
It’s a long video
Wow! Didn't know they started that young😁. They shouldn't run on sidewalks when they are that young
Just curious, why shouldn't they run on sidewalks?
