In principle, I agree with putting older cars back on the road, but only if it makes economic sense. If the car requires a significant rebuild or a frame off, then I think caution is required. The shops obviously are not going to help you make a wise decision. They only see the dollar signs. Generally speaking, it's nearly impossible to get your investment back, when you get old and have to sell off your possessions. Near where I live, there is an auto consignment business and they have many cars on the showroom floor that while very nice, are impractical or only appeal to the original owner. Porsche's are hot I agree but economic principles still apply.
