I find the Bluetooth range on mine to be quite surprising as well. It reaches fine in most parts of the house where I’d be roaming and it will give an alert if it loses connection which is nice. I use it whenever I need more probes than the 2 on my Smoke.
I have the inkbird 4 probe with remote monitor. I just used it yesterday and it worked flawlessly. I smoked a pork loin and a port belly. It took about 5 hours. The outside temp was -5C to 0C. The thing I like most is the rechargeable ion battery. The transmitter had more then half a charge when I finished and the receiver had about 3/4 charge left. This was the second smoke on the charge. I have a master chef and can not find any specifications for it.
Dear, please note that if our product is placed in an outdoor low temperature environment, it will consume power quickly. If you have any question, please feel free to contact our email support@inkbird.com
I’m glad you are getting good Bluetooth range with you 4 probe unit. I have the 2 probe model the signal barely reaches into my kitchen, 50 ft away from the pit.
Unless you're not at sea-level or your barometric pressure is low or high due to weather, in which case your boiling water *might* only be 200degF. First, find the barometric pressure at your location and then look up the boiling point of water at that pressure to do the calibration against. The temperature of ice-water (long sitting water with ice in it) is a more stable calibration point.
You did a great job on hitting the highlights of this thermometer. I have one of these and been using it for several months and I love it. I've left it outside in the rain a few times and it still works. The one thing I've realized is that the probe I'm using for the pit temperature needs to be clean to get an accurate temperature. If there's black soot or whatever on the probe, it appears to cause some inaccuracies. This may be true for all probes for all thermometers.
Tom's Food Factory I find that same think with the built in thermo on my pellet grill. If it has any debris on it it reads 10 to 20 degrees higher then it should.
Thanks for the review. But how can you say that having a display that you can't read in sunlight isn't really a problem? I would think the whole idea if having a large display is to be able to check the temperature at a glance and not have to look at your phone. It seems that this is an oversight by the manufacturer and is something they could easily fix if they wanted to. I have this same unit that I bought on sale. It is still new in box. I got it for myself but will now be gifting it and getting myself one that I can read.
Most displays suffer from the direct sunlight problem, I just hold my hand over it for a second to shade it, or change the angle of the display so the sun doesn’t effect. No big deal.
Lol you wouldn't want that feature. Every piece of meat is different. Does any device claim to have such a feature and how would that be possible? the accuracy would have to be + or - 2 hours in some cases.
John Manthey I haven’t. Once I got this I kind of stopped looking. I’d imagine the pit boss is similar since Louisiana Grills are made by the same company. Thanks for watching
Can you set alarms for each of the probes (low alarm and high alarm) as well as showing the current temp? I find the low alarm is useful if I have an unintentional flameout on the smoker. I also find it handy to have an adjustable high alarm set point so I can be notified with an audible alarm of a grease fire inside.
Does the app work on both iOS and android? Did you do an ice water and boiling water test? I have a Samsung S 9 and really don’t want to have to go out and by an iPhone. I have ear marked this one as one that I really like. The four probes got me. If it registers in a two or three degree variance that’s not bad.
John Manthey I looked on the internet and it appears they make the BQQgo app for Android. Didn’t do the ice or boil test. Just used my thermoworks smoke and thermapen to compare, which I know are accurate. Thanks for watching
Thanks for Video. I just want to add that this product is not for grills. If fire catches the probe for couple of seconds (things happens...), it will damage the probe and the probe will become unusable. I would not recommend this product to buy. Wasting of money. Would be great if you can add fire catching event to your video. Thanks again.
Bradley Davis the screen is a little hard to read in sunlight, the the bluetooth app is a bit limited, it works, but I’d like to be able to customize it more.
Its nice but it is worthless once you get a new phone. I paired it with my old phone. Now I have my new phone and it will not pair. There is no way to un-pair the old phone so I am stuck.
Thanks for a straightforward review! Just got this for my birthday and just wanted to see someone using it. Can’t wait to try it out this weekend.
Just bought this, thanks for the review, Dave!
Following this dude - love the no-BS approach to this video
Thanks man. I try to cut to the chase. Keep it simple

A Toledo transplant here, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Liked the video. You explain it well. Thanks,.
Used it last night on a couple pork loins I’m loving it the alarm is amazing
Agreed. I find myself reaching for that thermometer a lot. Thanks for watching

Smoking n' DC as of now it’s working well. Time will tell. If the range starts decreasing I’ll let you know.
Smoking n' DC I sent mine back. Temp was 10 to 15 degrees off.
Would have liked to hear how accurate it was compared to your other thermometers and the grill thermometer.
Sorry about that. Reviewed that thermometer over 4 years ago. I don’t even think I have it anymore, but I seem to remember it being pretty accurate.
Inkbird sent me one of these as well I absolutely love it. Great review sir I love the long use with a full charge
A good way to check temp accuracy of Thermometers and Chef Alarms is check it on boiling water.

Make sure you're at sea level

Straight to the point, honest review. Good work Dave!
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
I see that one probe is a bit bigger at the end than the other ones. What is the function of this?
So Dave if I did a six hour cook will I be able to see the entire graph for six hours? Thank You
Pretty cool to see the inkbird in action, I just got one that I have yet to unbox. Happy new year Dave!
Pickles BBQ it’s not a bad little unit. Simple. Everything is controlled by the app.
You have made the best review. I ordered mine today. THNX
You’re welcome. It’s still working great
Thanks for the review! This is exactly what I needed! 👍
You’re welcome. I have another thermometer review coming out later today.
What's a safe is highest temperature it can read in the BBQ
Nice review👍
Just ordered it thank you for a good review
Nice. Let me know how you like it
Thanks . Top review !

Thanks Dave. I'll try it out and check it out for myself.
How long are the probe cords?
About half a meter
Love my Inkbird..
Great review! Thanks. Can it estimate time to temp?
No I don’t think it can.
Lol you wouldn't want that feature. Every piece of meat is different. Does any device claim to have such a feature and how would that be possible? the accuracy would have to be + or - 2 hours in some cases.
How do you change this to Fahrenheit? Is only done on the app
Is it inside the battery cover? To be honest I gave this one to my brother to use, so I can’t check it.
Is there a temperature alarm
Hey Dave. I know you’re a Louisiana Grill guy but have you checked out the new Pit Boss Platinum’s yet?
John Manthey I haven’t. Once I got this I kind of stopped looking. I’d imagine the pit boss is similar since Louisiana Grills are made by the same company. Thanks for watching
Hello! Is this for oven?
I can be.

I believe you can set individual alarms.

It asks for a pass code wen I try to connect it to my Samsung galaxy s10+ .. can't connect it
I wish I could help, but I have zero experience with Android phones.
I got it figured out thanks took all evening but I got it 👍 💯

Thanks for the info!
what bluetooth thermometer do you highly recommend without breaking the bank? Thank you in advance
I like the ink bird. It’s simple and works well. It’s not without its flaws, but for the price, it’s great.
Dave's Ohio BBQ & More thank you for the suggestion. Appreciate it. And thanks for the video. Very informative
@@daveshouseofbbq what are the flaws ?
Bradley Davis the screen is a little hard to read in sunlight, the the bluetooth app is a bit limited, it works, but I’d like to be able to customize it more.
I purchased the two piece over the four piece.
nice, honestly I very rarely use more than 2 probes
Its nice but it is worthless once you get a new phone. I paired it with my old phone. Now I have my new phone and it will not pair. There is no way to un-pair the old phone so I am stuck.
It can be calibrated
Damon W how?
best way to check your thermometer is in a glass of ice water, they should read 32 degrees
Why the music? Waterboard
To help cover up the insect noise in the woods behind my house. Thanks for asking.
My grate probe is off probably 50 degrees.
Yikes. That’s no good. Call customer service and see what they can do.
🤠🤝
I like to do the bulk of my grilling from the bathroom
I do my best thinking and grilling from there.
I got it for $39.99 at Amazon I use the coupon code
Excellent. That’s a great price
