*ATTENTION:* I did not include price comparisons in this video because what I've found in the past, most of these prices will change in 6 months. Even when filming I saw 2 of them (Meatstick and Typhur) change price. That being said, I put current prices in the description of this video and I can update those when prices change. Thanks for watching!
I have had a meater plus and meater block for a long time. Recently got the typhur and it's all I use now. I love how you can set up a cook and track it without even having to use the app. The Bluetooth has a good range with the probes, so I can have the base inside with me, watching the temperatures without having to constantly open the app.
Compared to a 5” probe, a 4” probe isn’t small. Thickness and knowing how to insert it properly can satisfy most any situation. I can understand how having the option of different size probes could be beneficial if you don’t want to fool around with inserting it with optimal technique.
Great comparison! It would be ideal to check the accuracy of the measurement. I checked when boiling water and none of the thermometers showed 212 degrees. Some thermometers stayed at 203 degrees, some at 208-209.
Where did you buy two additional probes for the ChefsTemp Pro Temp Plus? And one short probe. I see that only the base with one long probe is available for sale.
How is the top choice in thermometers, that are used to verify safe temperatures are reached, one that is "10 degrees off" - 10 degrees is either significantly overcooked or unsafe if your target is rare/med-rare!
When we were filming this, I did talk about prices and current sales on them, but because companies sometimes change prices quarterly (raise or lower) a lot of that info would be a lot different six months from now so I decided to keep that info out. I just updated the description with current prices. 🍻
Great review @grillsergeant! Too bad about the timing though, because recently a new player brought out a serious contender: the RFX by ThermoWorks (they make the ThermaPen). Any chance you’ll be comparing it or reviewing it in the near future?
What about VLAUE? Some of these come with 4 probes and many are just one. Is the $300 one really that much better than a $90 one? But is it worth it for the extra probes, ect?
Chef IQ- how could you list a probe that is 10 degrees off all the others despite any other features. It failed on the one thing that requires precision.
Another informative & well done video! But you still have the TEXAS flag displayed incorrectly. The white stripe should be to the left. Other than that, keep ‘em coming.
@@GrillSergeant Welcome to Texas! I enjoy your videos! In fact I finally pulled the trigger & got a Pit Boss pro series 6 after watching your videos. My tastebuds thank you.
Great video! My only wish is that you had used decimal (machinist) instead of fraction (woodworkers) measurements. I'm sure your calipers will do both. 13/64 conveys much less to me than 0.203.
I bought the Chef-IQ from Costco and took it back after the first use. Having to set up an account pissed me off. And I could only get maybe 10 feet from the grill and it would lose connection and I'd have to reconnect and try to unphuck everything because it lost my settings.
Which one can i check my meat temps while not at home ......say i set my pellet smoker up with 90 lbs of butts and wanna go wall mart shopping , as most of my smokes go way over 14 hours , which one will work while away from home

I wonder how the new Thermoworks Wireless RFX will do, it looks amazing. I pre-ordered it on lauch day last week.

Awesome review Andrew! Definitely like the Chefs Temp, one of these days I need to pull the trigger! Cheers brother 🍻🍻
Awesome job my man... I just did a one on one between Chefstemp and Meater. Ill have to try out a few of those. Cheers brother!

By the way, Jared does a great job mowing your lawn!

Great review as always! Not sure why I watch these, always cost me money!!! 👀🔥🔥😂
Thanks grill sergeant. Love the videos.

It's weird that the chef IQ got third and was inaccurate by 10 degrees. That's far too much of a discrepancy.
I wish you had done a price comparison also. But overall, great video!

Does the chefs temp pro temp plus come with the small probe? or just the standard size one and you have to purchase the small separately?
Wow great video! I’ve been hesitant on getting any of them because I worry about the plastic. I’m surprised you didn’t test the Thermo Works!
I could barely handle doing 7 LOL
I see a wrist watch, I don’t see a wrist watch, I see a wrist watch, I don’t see a wrist watch lol.
Have a great weekend brother
Chris sees everything, but can he see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
Nice information, thanks for sharing.
You need to check out the RFX ThermoWorks wireless meat probe. I think it beats them all and the range is outrageous.

Nicely done 😎👍

Thank you kind sir! Just moved to Texas so thanks for the heads up!

RFX should have been part of the test

Steak belongs in the next Hellraiser.
HA!
I’ve done 2 cooks with the Typhur and have had connection issues between the probes and base with each cook.

Who TF knows how big 7/64ths is?! Give us a decimal...sheesh
A tomahawk on a tomahawk
Thank you for such an in depth review, this is an enormous help!
Why didn’t you add Combustion Inc to your comparison?
I wanted too! I reached out to them before doing this video.
@@GrillSergeant Wonder why? Oh well, thanks for the reply and good review!
38 thermometers and you still went medium instead of medium rare
Chef IQ is kinda trash. I bought the 3 probe version and 2 of the 3 already crapped out on me.
If u have some extra probes you need to get rid of. I got your back.
