Fantastic vlog Col and such a great walk down memory lane for me. Between 1990 and 1995, my parents owned a food place in Veronicas called ‘Snakatak’ that was located downstairs in the block at the end of your video. Back then it was very vibrant until 5am downstairs as there were some very popular and legendary Scottish and Irish bars like the Cally, Molly Malones and Dick Turpins. I did live in Tenerife for a year when I was a very naïve and foolish 18 year old and had a mostly fun time before I went to university. So I’m looking forward to revisiting some old haunts as a sagacious and perturbed old man for my 50th birthday celebrations this March.

Good last night to end a great trip. Couldn't have been with a better guide and drinking oppo. Been a LONG TIME since i was there before and a LOT has changed in 25yrs. Think this was the only night we didn't get too drunk to remember. Looking forward to March and catching up with some nice guys i met with you. Deffo thumbs up 😊
Great safety tips at the end, I was there last week and after the dubliner shut some of the lads decided they wanted to go onto another club, with our hotel only being at the top of the road I decided to head home. That is when I was pounced on by a pick pocket and I was very lucky to come away still with my phone! Stick with your mates and keep your phones and wallets zipped up! 👍
Thanks Angie - it’s not quite as bad as folk make out although i know what you mean. I’m fairly lucky because some of the bar managers & security know me a bit down there now so with a bit of planning, this type of video is fairly ok to do. 😊😊

I believe Tenerife has improved since the 90’s, it’s much quieter down the strip than it was back in the day, when the likes of Bobby’s Bar, The Leopard Lounge, The Crows Nest and Mrs T’s, Bonkers Bar and Images, was open. I used to Dj in Veronica’s in the 90’s till 2000, it was heaving.
Agreed - definitely a lot quieter than those days. Drinking & travel habits of the 18-30 age group have all changed since then - bar crawls & fishbowls have long gone - they now prefer to hike around thailand & drink coconut tea! They haven’t lived have they? 😆
No Wayne, Gary’s brother had Linekers bar which used to be run by tosh in the 90’s, it’s still there but is on the other side, called starco complex just above tramps, not sure if Wayne has anything to do with the Tenerife one anymore. The Moroccan’s own most of Veronica’s these days.
Its alright down there with wits about ya i never had no trouble only good times bit of street knowledge and make a night of it , bet ya its not much different then magaluf or crete 👍
Wouldnt go near it in the evenings . Not long back a young girl maybe early 20s and her brother were attacked after getting robbed. The young girl ended up in a wheel chair and her brother a broken arm along with other injuries .AVOID .
Such a shame we only hear about the bad incidents Tony. I’m in Veronicas a lot when I’m over there & see very little happening. I don’t wish to victim blame but when i see young lads totally wasted dropping their phones & cash, also young girls sloping off down the side alleys with guys theyve just met, it’s no wonder a lot of these things happen. Nobody hears about the thousands of people who have a great time there without any problems either. Myself & Eric had 3 nights there in the week we were there & didnt see or hear a cross word. In fact, There were more issues in the ‘grown-up’ areas where the middle aged crowd were causing after being sloshed on their cheap all inclusive drink.
Great atmosphere but not a place to go to tenerife is not a safe place to go to that's my opinion as mugged the last time I was there which was a long time ago and it still going on thanks col and Eric but tenerife is no from from me ❤❤
Such a shame Susan because you seem to enjoy my Tenerife nightlife vlogs! I live in Bournemouth & believe me, more bad things happened on the streets here over Xmas/new year than in Tenerife. I certainly know where I feel safer.😊
What’s the point in doing these if your not going to show what it’s really like ? You said it all more or less at the start. Nothings changed there, I was doin* all this scene back in the late Eighties, just the originals

As you obvs know, I do these videos as often as i can & I can only record what I see in front of me at that time - so it’s what it’s really like. Unless of course you want me to make something up? I’ve been going there for many years as well, & yes it’s had its moments & changes but that’s what it was really like back then, not now. The point in doing them is to show the strip in that moment, just as you would have done had you made a similar video back in 1988. 👍

I know what you mean - mad thing is we all know things go on along that strip but its a case of not a lot happens when i’ve got the camera rolling! I think in the 2 yrs i’ve been doing them, i’ve caught 1 scuffle on camera ( 2 kids having handbags) & a bag seller’s mate had a go at robbing my wallet once. Other than that it’s as i say, i can only put out there what i see at the time. There doesnt seem to be as much in the way of bouncers as there used to be. A few places have them but nit as many as there were in 80s/90s but these days stuff has changed. Kids dont drink & dont seem to kick off as much. The days of a night out on a tenner note are long gone. Glad i grew up &’learnt the hard way back then though 👍
