Star of the show: Brian, wise, steady, sure. Producer, director videographer, editor, master welder, hard working faithful, loving son= perfection. Outstanding work you guys. Thanks
One of the best videos done by these two. Red stripe to brown stripe transition, classic Sonne comedy. Brian, you are a great example of land steward. Cole has a fine mentor.
Luckily...no " brown stripes" were involved ...afaik...but as far as red stripes...moisture...and new kettle gates for Uncle Jeff go...another sterling Sonne Frames production! Still hope one day to see Brain, Uncle Jeff...and Cole on horsebacks with a windswept alfalfa field in the background, kinda like the classic Bonanza shot of Hoss, Little Joe and Adam...hanging on the wall at....Storla Station! Thank ya'll for ranchin', farmin', fixin' and feedin' 🇺🇸 !
Two very hard working guys, and they are doing it for all of us! Lots of "blood, sweat and tears!!" Not many people would want to do all this hard work.
I laughed right out loud at the line re: the red strip on the bale netting... 'as opposed to the brown strip?'... LOL - 'ya didn't wipe good enough'. Too funny! Love watchin' your videos - I grew up on a smaller farm in South Eastern Saskatchewan.
Years ago I started watching about 5 different farm videos. You and the Saskatchewan dairy farm are the only ones left because your videos are always entertaining, and never boring. Cole and Brian please keep up the good work.
I'm bummed about being late to the farm, but I've been busy too. In my line of work tho', that means folks are sad or hurting, or both.---I still think of you folks as energizer bunnies.
I feel ya on the chemical drift. Our neighbor sprayed his field to get rid of the bindweed. It drifted to our pasture and wiped it out. We won’t be reseeding until actual rain shows up, and the funny part is, neighbor still has acres of bindweed. Just one of those sigh, shrug and dry chuckle moments. Cause if we did anything else we’d go crazy.
Another excellent video guys. A little part reality and some humor. I know it’s your everyday life and figure why would anyone find this interesting to watch. It’s just two men doing their daily tasks. I don’t have an answer to why I watch -- every video! But, I catch myself laughing and being entertained. Funny how fast those 20 minutes go by. Thanks guys… I hope whatever monies you get from TH-cam or other platforms it helps the farm with equipment and other purchases. As well as providing Cole and Tiffany with a comfortable life. Thanks Again….
Two great minds with but a single thought 13:11. And may I say, that was some mighty fancy editing at 5:27 splitting the audio and video during the alfalfa soliloquy. You are definitely a Brave Boy! Fun video even if it was not a fun day. It is no fun being hot and moist and covered in grass and dirt, unless it was due to being up to no good.
I love Brian's song of the day. I'm hitting 60 this year too and we grew up on the same music. Some of the songs I haven't heard in years but they bring back such good memories! Keep 'em coming.
5:30...that's what I'm talking about, Cole. Awesome edit as it shows what both cameras are seeing while doing the same task but with commentary in the background. Unique from any other farming channels I know.
One of the greatest virtues is just an ordinary part of farm life. Realizing that problems are normal, they’re not personal, meant to be overcome one way or another and each one is a lesson to be retained.
Love seeing the jd tractors Cole Brian hope you all well thank you for allowing us to view as you work very informative thank you and like to say hello Jeff and family and think you have a lovely farm sir
This vlog felt pretty close to home due to the dryness, heat, threat of fire, all the things. So grateful nothing sparked or broke. Hated seeing the beans crushed. So real. Great vlog. Enjoyed the welding.
Who knew skunks, wasps, stray corn husks and short chains could cause so many problems! Great video guys. Always enjoy the father's wisdom and son's goofiness!
Great job on all the welding Cole, you are the expert on that task. Brian did an awesome job bailing with all the problems he still bales the hay like it should be done. Love you folks
Great vidya Gents. Thanks again for the recommendations Cole. I have had my hands in a good share of agriculture, even spreading manure. The one thing I never really had any experience with is livestock. I am familiar with equine hay burners, but not the bovine ones. They used to tell me that if the Xray checks out after a pass with 6011 and a cover of 7018, which is the UA 21 weld test, the apprenticeship program for Pipefitters would come at full scale because they'd just give the applicant a journeyman's card. Don't ever consider it though, that farm is the better life brother. Say hi to Brian for me. Cheers Sonne Fellers.
And to add to Mr. Brooks comment, one good pass of 6011 would have been sufficient. The cover pass of 7018 will insure that the largest tractor you own, won’t break those welds. Well done Sonne Farms, keep them coming.
Thanks for another great video Cole. It was interesting and enjoyable as always. Grass hay coming to an end, all right. You all did great with it this year. Good amount of bales also. Sorry about the beans you had to drive over but sometimes it is necessary. The hay from that field was outstanding. Cole, excellent job on welding the gates. Looks like a nice setup for sorting the herd. You do great with the welder. Nice unit you have for that work. Excellent song of the day Brian. Hadn’t heard that one for a while. Yes, Billie Idler has a nice soft voice. Good listening type songs. Brian I always enjoy your talks about life on the farm and the different issues you have to manage or deal with. You have an excellent hand on your operation that is for sure. Did not think those round bales would plug like that. Was interesting part of the video aside from having to unplug the baler. About it I guess. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Sonne’s. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
This vid was a gut-buster! Every single chore was ripe with stellar jokes! Really liked the imaginary cow sorting at the end! Brian’s knowledge of music is impressive...keep on keeping on! Great entertainment for these very difficult times.
I’m sorry you have some issues but again thanks for sharing how hard really it’s farming these days. Thanks For sharing your life and your family 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I remember dad walking in with a dirty face after a day of haying many times. It's a dirty job some days are obviously worse than others. Love the videos fella's.
I feel your pain on the bales of hay without net wrap. We had two this year, which wasn't that many, and yet they are just a pain to re-roll, being so dry. One didn't wrap due to opening the gate before the last beep, the other was a netting issue. Well that's just how it goes, I guess. You do an awesome job on those gates, Cole! Good job on the video, thanks for sharing, have a fantastic weekend.
Cole, try to be grateful for all the days you have with your wonderful Dad. You don’t realize that he won’t be with you forever. It sneaks up on you too soon and he’s not there. Love you guys and just passing on a voice of experience. He’s one in a million. 😎
Love the smell of fresh mown hay... But for a kid alergic to grass , I always hated haying. I had to wear long slevves taped up at the wrists and buttoned to the top. But I still ended up with hay bits all in my shirt . And with square bales ya got to handle every bale multiple times.. Ahhh...the good ole days were'nt always so good. Enjoyed it fellers.
They make long sleeve heat gear from under armor. Very nice and moisture wicking. Keeps me cool On bad days of work I come home and weld. Makes me slow down and is so relaxing
Good Saturday Mornin' Sonne Farms!! Outside right now, the thunder is rumbling. Looks like another gully washer is on the way. I feel sorry for all those people out there with carboard boxes of food on their doorsteps. The rain's gonna get those cardboard boxes all soggy and wet and probably spoil the contents. Those folks are gonna wish their pantries were well stockpiled with fresh food from their local farmers and ranchers. Zacharia, one of the hands on the farm, told me last night at supper he knew rain's a comin'. He had that "rheumy feelin'" in his elbow. Y'all take care now.
Been watching you guys for quite awhile. Look forward to the song of the day lol! Love Brian’s choices cause we’re about the same age. I never grew up on a farm but love to hunt and fish and it relaxes me being in the country. Follow quite a few farmers both here in Canada and the USA. I’m in Alberta. Keep the videos coming. Always look forward to them.
Good to see all the doins' going well at Sonne Frames! LOL! and Cole? Sure do like the cattle-sorting-dance you got going on using the level as a slappy. Very nice indeed. Hahahahaha! Up here in the North country, we are cutting & baling like crazy trying to be ready for the weird cold/rain fronts they say are heading in. Going to 'round up some cattles' later this week because grass is thin and drying out. We always have to make adjustments to keep them safe and sound just like you guys dealing with the pond going low. Stay safe and blessed!
Brian you finally posted a song of the day I didn’t know. I turned 60 last fall and I’ve never heard that one or any other song by Skid Row. Guess it didn’t make it to Ohio. Up til now I was 100% on all the songs, but I did enjoy looking it up and listening to it. Hope you have a happy birthday and many more! I love watching you guys farm, it takes me back! As for Cole and the wasp sting🙈I don’t even want to think about how that happened! 🙊
You and your Dad sure know how to overcome the problems that come up out of the blue as you do your work. Impressive. So many farmers are having trouble with the rough weather we have been having across the country. Thanks till next time.
So you're saying you got stung on the dipstick?? Poor boy! I admire how quick you jump to help dad sort out the bale issues. Day's over and you start another job. Every gate and post you put in makes the job easier for everybody and makes it safer and faster to perform. Your upcoming wife won't have to worry about you hanging around the house bored. You'll be out building and fixing till it's too dark to work. Great video. Pax.
Awesome editing this video. But how dare you put me in your tool bag like that 😜 Also the stinger at the end with the chain.... ouch. I was laughing hard.
Hey Cole - have the tire guy at Storla(maybe you) put a patch over that hole inside the tire like a radial tubeless tire repair and then put a new tube inside. Should work until you get a puncture somewhere else….
Star of the show: Brian, wise, steady, sure. Producer, director videographer, editor, master welder, hard working faithful, loving son= perfection. Outstanding work you guys. Thanks
very kind comment
Q+×k
One of the best videos done by these two. Red stripe to brown stripe transition, classic Sonne comedy. Brian, you are a great example of land steward. Cole has a fine mentor.
Honestly, too many gems in this video to list. To the very end it was great!
The tyre I shot a load into.......

I love it when you scream going over bumps. I'm going to start doing it too.
Sometimes haying can get very miserable when problems arise, it always seems like it does when it is hot and miserable. You two handled it well.
I love Brian's song of the day. I'm hitting 60 this year too and we grew up on the same music. Some of the songs I haven't heard in years but they bring back such good memories! Keep 'em coming.

Song o' the day .. Too rolling stoned - Robin Trower strat James Dewar vocals
Oh my gosh skidrow was a great band. Remember yesterday, 18 and life. Nice
Brown streak...funny! It's nice to see a father and son so close and able to work together.
This vlog felt pretty close to home due to the dryness, heat, threat of fire, all the things. So grateful nothing sparked or broke. Hated seeing the beans crushed. So real. Great vlog. Enjoyed the welding.
Sometimes ya have to ruin 17 bucks of beans to make several thousand bucks of hay. :)
Who knew skunks, wasps, stray corn husks and short chains could cause so many problems! Great video guys. Always enjoy the father's wisdom and son's goofiness!
Yeah Brian I was listening to some old school Skid Row this morning. Great choice 🤟
Cole… one of the funniest farmer on the TH-cams :)
Sure enjoy watching some of you hard working young farmers/ranchers! Gives me hope!
Great job on all the welding Cole, you are the expert on that task. Brian did an awesome job bailing with all the problems he still bales the hay like it should be done. Love you folks

Bet u guys are glad to be done with grass hay. Sure like those pipe fences and gates. Happy Birthday Brian and many more🎂
Rule of thumb
You can weld downhill with your 60 series rod , but you should only weld uphill ( bottom to top) with 70 series rods. Excellent video
And to add to Mr. Brooks comment, one good pass of 6011 would have been sufficient. The cover pass of 7018 will insure that the largest tractor you own, won’t break those welds. Well done Sonne Farms, keep them coming.

Pretty cool seeing video from the rake, and hear your dad in the baler talking. Good job editing. 👍
This vid was a gut-buster! Every single chore was ripe with stellar jokes! Really liked the imaginary cow sorting at the end! Brian’s knowledge of music is impressive...keep on keeping on! Great entertainment for these very difficult times.
Brian is almost 3 months older than me and I know all of the songs that he talks about. So we 60 years can keep a good memory.
Once again, Brian has excellent taste in music! Both the old song and new!
I’m sorry you have some issues but again thanks for sharing how hard really it’s farming these days. Thanks For sharing your life and your family 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
It was a bad last grass hay day, but in the bright side you made some good hay, got done with grass, and put up a nice gate. Hope you get that rain!
I love how your family farms are inter twinned thanks for showing how families work together for prosperous
I remember dad walking in with a dirty face after a day of haying many times. It's a dirty job some days are obviously worse than others. Love the videos fella's.

You need some beverages in there with ya. Stay hydrated. Lol. Great video. I don’t think ppl realize how hard farmers work. Appreciate ya
Cole back in the day when the chain was a little short ,the axe was handy to chip the corners off the square post and then the chain fit.
Cole, try to be grateful for all the days you have with your wonderful Dad. You don’t realize that he won’t be with you forever. It sneaks up on you too soon and he’s not there. Love you guys and just passing on a voice of experience. He’s one in a million. 😎

Cole gets stung by a wasp and just POWERS THROUGH That’s why we ❤️ ya 🙋♀️😂 kinda hard to be part of a bike club when you don’t have a bike 😂😂🤣
I have all the CDs of Aprilwine, they are a great band of the 70s.
awesome video Cole. Your chain is a couple of links short. lol. Thank you and Mr. B so much.
Thank you Sonne farms!!!
That duet on “you didn’t wipe good” was solid
lol yep

liked the part about the red line bale, that was good, and your right farming isn't all fun and games, good ending just cant trust those chains lol
Cole and Brian. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks!
You and your Dad sure know how to overcome the problems that come up out of the blue as you do your work. Impressive. So many farmers are having trouble with the rough weather we have been having across the country. Thanks till next time.
The work never ends. Great video.
The innuendos are strong in this one, I like it. 👍🏻
Just a small piece of advice on welding, 7018 welds better uphill then down hill. Give it a shot sometime if you want and see what you think.
Can someone please get uncle Jeff on TH-cam. He could be on here responding to comments like Brian and Tami. What fun we will have
Wow y’all kicked but in the heat stay cool out there bless y’all for what you all do
Happy Belated Birthday Brian!!!
Good ole racing stripe indicators 😁like the dry run cattle sorting Cole🤣y’all keep em comin plz🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

That pin trick just changed my life
Beware the streaks! Either red or brown boys!!!! Love the channel!

I don't know if I'm early or late but happy birthday Brian
