That feeling when you Animate Dead a Griselbrand and he's a 6/7, so he doesn't gain you enough life to draw 7 cards in a hit...It's like when hot dogs come in packages of 5 but hot dog buns only come in packs of 4.
LSV is extremely enjoyable to watch. The lines that you make LSV and your thought process are incredible. I just now wish I could draft a deck that doesn't quite get there and it still finishes 2-1. But man hit the like on this comment if you wish you could play vintage cube right now!!!
SPOILERS FOR THE GAMES: What are people talking about with the Mind Twist thing? It was irrelevant pretty much every time. M1G1: It provided some card advantage for the opponent but LSV beat that one easily M1G2: It did something, but LSV mainly lost to forgetting about Leovold and opponent ripping a removal for the Griselbrand. Sure, Mind Twist was a factor here, but LSV played that game suboptimally and probably lost because of that. M3G1: Yeah, Mind Twist for entire hand is pretty good when you're on a hopeful draw. That said, He had pretty much already lost that game. He was on Emrakul and a bunch of reanimation and needed to draw something specific to win and have it not get countered. I think the opponent would've won that one regardless. So yeah, Mind Twist is a very powerful card, but this cube has so many ultra-powerful cards and combinations that often the Twist wont's matter as much as it does in lower power formats.
You will lose a game where you twist and nothing else. Just like you can lose a game where you cast Ancestral Recall and nothing else. I think if you lose a game where you cast an early twist for at least 3, you got rather unlucky.
Didn't he only lose 1 of the games he got twisted? And that was specifically to a twist for 7 late in the game after mana flood. I don't have an opinion on mind twist tbh but I think it's misused very often. For example I hate mind twist in ramp decks because you have to commit so many resources to it and often have no good follow up. I dunno. I've heard Luis say mind twist is bad very often which goes against what I always assumed was true. But I don't think he got bodied by mind twist in this video. It just got played against him in 2 of it's more popular decks(ramp and control).
it's one of the original mana sinks for Mana Drain, "if you've got Mana Drain in your 40, Mind Twist is great" LSV presumed -also didn't lose to Mind Twist, lost to "too lazy" land taps
Man, sometimes I wish that I played as well as LSV. Than other times I wish I playd as badly as LSV and got as lucky as him too. Its a weird mix of feelings.
@ 1:07:55 if he kept push in his hand (there was no reason to cast it at that point since op didn't show any counters) he would have easily won next turn. Just naturally draw conscripts with 4 cards in hand, vamp and bazaar for second reanimation spell, bin conscripts and just win on the spot. There were probably other winning lines of play but dumping push into a non-threat seemed like a massive waste.
He had no way to know that he would draw conscripts and opponent was tapped out. If opponent was a more controlling deck, thing might be one of his few ways to actually win. It can also bounce his reanimated targets, so had he left it, opponent might have been able to flip it and fizzle the turn. There are a lot of reasons to just push it then.
At 1:03:22 when you Shallow Grave, you mention your opponent could have Hero's Downfall and it wouldn't matter. But wouldn't that brick the Grave? I won a few games against people going all in on Shallow Grave/Corpse Dance because it only returned a Putrid Imp I just killed.
At 38:20 should have discarded Skinrender to Putrid Imp, cast Shallow Grave to get it into play with haste, kill his only blocker and swing for lethal.
Necromancy and Emrakul does not work how you'd want it to. Necromancy at instant speed means you sacrifice the creature at beginning of next CLEANUP. Still a decent reanimation spell, but it's no Shallow Grave for Emrakul shenanigans
I must be missing something. Isn't cleanup step at end of turn when damage is removed from creatures etc? So you could still discard an Emrakul, cast necromancy at instant speed and attack to wipe your opponents board---NVM i see the problem, no haste from necromancy. could still do it on your opponents turn as an emergency blocker but not nearly as exciting to just block and kill 1 creature.
He could have Bazaar'd hoping to draw Shallow Grave, discard Conscripts, Vamp, and a blank. It's a gamble since he knows he can't draw Exhume, but its a potential way to win that game.
I don't know about this one, Luis. TNN is not too "small ball" for Cube. It's a legit clock in the control mirrors and it's a pretty solid brickwall if you're behind on the board. Any equipment just propels it to insane levels. And taking LED when not storm and there being a second fetchable blue source off heath in pack seems kind of loose. Also, I hope "Mind Twist sucks" was a joke. That card is like Fireball where you get 2-3x X.
"feels like the opponent has heros downfall here, but it doesn't matter" except it REALLY does, because you cast the card shallow grave. You do know how that card works right? Because you certainly dont know how Emrakul+necromancy works.
I'll guess someone told lsv to not draft blue because people was complaining in the comments. This is what happens when you can't deal with the best color in magic.
in this cube, you're gonna get your insanely powerful cards regardless, because the cube is full of em. what you won't get, if all you take is power, is dual lands or signets or other really great mana sources.
Don't want to be rude but is it only me getting annoyed with the slurping sounds. All your videos have it, maybe you need to configure the sensitivity of your microphone.
guys, I just had the worst realization. I've heard LSV say "good, good" in an eastern european accent on several occasions. It.. might.. not..be Saliva!!?! dundundun *dies* after revealing The Masquerade
I hate watching games with terrible opponents :( That guy with the Deathrite Shaman attacking with it, even though in the previous game got renanimation to death. Unwatchable at that stage.
The classic 5-color balance reanimator twin deck.
That feeling when you Animate Dead a Griselbrand and he's a 6/7, so he doesn't gain you enough life to draw 7 cards in a hit...It's like when hot dogs come in packages of 5 but hot dog buns only come in packs of 4.
This deck is the last tier of the expanding brain meme for Vintage Cube. I just can't believe it.
The balance + Leovold + shallow grave + Emrakul was SO sweet! I bet the opponent thought so too right before he died and lost all his permanents lol
7:22 "I think Mind Twist sucks" - LSV, 2018
I live for these drafts lol. Love the content, more channel lsv
This is why we watch LSV.
What a bazaar draft.
I see what you did. lol
I applaud you. Now get out!
Stop now get put of this house

I wish these didn't go up so late, it's much more exciting to watch these when you can hop into a cube league right after
LSV's been uploading weeks after the fact for years now it seems.
LSV doesn't decide when the videos get posted.
I wish cube was available all the time on mtgo, that would make more sense :)
I wish old formats were available all the time and cycled through on MTGO, it would be free money for them
Troy Moore really?
Thank you for not just taking a clip from a stream, it's nice being able to focus strictly on the gameplay.
Loved this deck!
A glorious Frankenstein's monster of a deck.
"I think Mind Twist sucks." You just have to appreciate how the universe sometimes shows you the error of your ways.
The new Gideons prevent damage too. They're just also indestructible.
They actually *have* to prevent damage, or else you'd get really confusing rules with loyalty counters.
Damage removing loyalty counters from planeswalkers is not really that confusing.
Not on its own, but it's weird when it's also a creature.

YAY a true LSV video without twitch nonsense in the background.
Thank you CF!
LSV says Mind Twist isn’t good.. then repeatedly gets bodied by Mind Twist. lol the karma. Love the deck tho, spice at its finest
Yeah I had the same reaction when I first hear him say that mind twist isn't good...I was like how is it not good
The card is not as good as people rate it. The card is fine. In a cube full of broken cards, fine is not good enough.
I think he did that to irritate gabby, she always says the card is busted
Didn't he only lose 1 of the games he got twisted? And that was specifically to a twist for 7 late in the game after mana flood.

From the comments you would think that Mind Twist was this huge beating. Mind Twist was just irrelevant.
It wasnt irrelevant when he had to discard 7 - it cost him the entire game
Lol, this deck was a work of art!
Man, sometimes I wish that I played as well as LSV. Than other times I wish I playd as badly as LSV and got as lucky as him too.

He didn't take Jitte. He didn't take Jitte. I'm flabbergasted. Bamboozled.
"You need more mana before you take 7 drops"
You of all people gonna lecture us on not taking sevens in limited, Luis?
Uhhh...
Consecrated Sphinx costs 6, actually.
55:28 not playing around daze really bad here
At 1:03:22 when you Shallow Grave, you mention your opponent could have Hero's Downfall and it wouldn't matter. But wouldn't that brick the Grave? I won a few games against people going all in on Shallow Grave/Corpse Dance because it only returned a Putrid Imp I just killed.
Oath of druids would have been sick sideboard tech vs the elves deck
At 38:20 should have discarded Skinrender to Putrid Imp, cast Shallow Grave to get it into play with haste, kill his only blocker and swing for lethal.

After the draft, had me feelin like this deck was guna be poop soup.. drawing the right cards tho and BAM sweetness
lsv's deck looks like it was built by a person on LSD
let it to LSV to make a 5 color reanimator deck, awesome.
Game three you could have vamped for exhume and used it and the animate dead to get both back right?
I think he has to discard down to one card so that doesn't work
Nathan Wilson hmmm probably didn't count the number of cards in hand to make sure
He could have Bazaar'd hoping to draw Shallow Grave, discard Conscripts, Vamp, and a blank. It's a gamble since he knows he can't draw Exhume, but its a potential way to win that game.
Just saying, new Gideons prevent damage too, they’re indestructible and prevent damage to stop things like abrade killing a Gideon because reasons
During the first game of round three, I really wanted you to discard emri to handsize after you treasure cruised.
I don't know about this one, Luis. TNN is not too "small ball" for Cube. It's a legit clock in the control mirrors and it's a pretty solid brickwall if you're behind on the board. Paul M he also said don't ever play shadeless agent and then was about to slash for it. He's hypocritical as hell sometimes.
also had the win at 38:12 by shallow grave'ing the skinrender and killing the wolf token and attacking for 5
I don't think LVS made this many mistakes in his entire career as in this draft. Still great video.
How is mind twist bad again?
That Mind Twist Karma :P
haha, shit, that balance to shallow is insane
Is cube still running.
No, this is at least 2-3 weeks old.
match 2 game1, LSV style normal magic LOL
his voice is asmr
with Putrid Imp backup!
"I think mind twist sucks" -lsv
When is the frank/LSV collab draft happening?
Get HYPE boys
Thank you! Mind twist does suck
Bazaar looked insane every time he played it.
Mind Twister sucks
-LSV
Mind twist single handedly cost LSV a game tho lol. He is wrong - it is quite good
"feels like the opponent has heros downfall here, but it doesn't matter" except it REALLY does, because you cast the card shallow grave. You do know how that card works right? Because you certainly dont know how Emrakul+necromancy works.
They laugh at me for always forcing mono green ramp but I also have went 3-0 every time I have drafted this
LSV's microphone is way too sensitive
I'll guess someone told lsv to not draft blue because people was complaining in the comments.
This is what happens when you can't deal with the best color in magic.
YES
I strongly believe that mind twist should be removed from the cube.
I won with both show and tell and eureka once...
Mind Twist sucks? To play against, apparently
To be fair drawing 4-5 lands in a row will cause mind twist to be good.
Or any early mana rocks into it
LSV: *does his intro*
Me: don't you just mean forcing storm?
necromancy zealous take their leovold than legend it?
that's what he did...?
I thought cube drafts are supposed to only have one copy of each card... Interesting...
it's part of how they find you an opponent that drafted their deck from a different cube so that pairings are faster
Someday LSV will post a vid in which he isn't trying to draft Kiki jiki. But this is not that day!
Doesnt he realize kiki doesnt really copy anything in the mostly legendary deck?
At long last it rerurns!
I was saying rerurns...
nice Tropical Island over Reanimate.
How can you overrate lands so much...
in this cube, you're gonna get your insanely powerful cards regardless, because the cube is full of em. what you won't get, if all you take is power, is dual lands or signets or other really great mana sources.
Your Pick was ok but.. "Mind Twist sucks" ?!?! This just cant be right
I'm pretty sure you could have won the last game if you'd thought through your plays a bit more.
I'm giggling like an idiot during these games because this deck is so weird.
Your mic needs a pop filter bra
lsv for god sake eat light before stream
Leopold, mer N
Nonsense utter nonsense but amazing all the same lol
Don't want to be rude but is it only me getting annoyed with the slurping sounds. All your videos have it, maybe you need to configure the sensitivity of your microphone.
I know I salivate when I Balance to prep my Emrakul for Shallow Grave
guys, I just had the worst realization.
I've heard LSV say "good, good" in an eastern european accent on several occasions.
It.. might.. not..be Saliva!!?! dundundun
*dies* after revealing The Masquerade
#121
I hate watching games with terrible opponents :( That guy with the Deathrite Shaman attacking with it, even though in the previous game got renanimation to death. Unwatchable at that stage.
LSV!!!!! Please move away from your mic, get a pop filter, and stop making me hear you swallow every five seconds.
Still managed to make a blue deck :(
3 blue cards out of 23 hardly makes it a "blue deck." You people constantly harping on LSV for playing blue sure are insufferable.
hennybuggy4 it was a joke let it go...
shit joke
Not a fan of the hyperbole.
