In Bytom, the urban layout of the medieval city has been preserved, but much has changed. First, the market. Two streets ran from the corners of the rectangular square, and two streets from the northern and southern frontages. The current appearance of the market square is the result of redevelopment after World War II. Demolition of the quarter of buildings in the western frontage destroyed after the war meant that today's central square of the city is twice as large as the medieval one. This is not one change that has happened. In the photos you can see how Bytom was 'building up' over the years.

Pracowałam w Bytomiu około 10 lat na ekspedycji PKP. Dziś pozostała ruina. Jako byłemu pracownikowi PKP serce krwawi. Komu tak bardzo zależy, aby z premedytacją niszczyć nasz wszystkie miasta.
