Day two of Sick Week 2024 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive saw Brett LaSala in the Snot Rocket take over the overall lead from Street Outlaws' Jeff Lutz. The slicks just couldn't get hooked on the tight track. Cleetus McFarland is sadly out of the event wih transmission problems, but that nightmare green Mustang Just keeps rolling
To mark with the 63 orange nova, mate don't worry us Americans love hearing your guys slang keep it, love hearing boot lol
Mark makes more sense to me as a Brit lol I’m like the what? When he was getting corrected to the incorrect term 👀 😂 it’s funny though we all know both or if you don’t you should 😆
To be honest I have a hard time understanding Aussies
@@richardturk7162 have a hard time understanding a lot of Americans too!!!😎
we got a few ...divy van ..Paddy waggon..police van .no one knows those terms usually outside aus ..what do you call police vans that take a few people at once ..I'm curious.
I'm from the Great State 48, Arizona. I appreciate him being himself , don't change for others.
It's fun and encouraging seeing motorheads from different countries.
Agreed!
Gotta love the Aussie, what a great attitude.
Braidenton was our first Sick Week event attended. It was a very professionally ran event! My wife and I had a great time! Thank you for all the hard work... it will not be our last...
There's a lot of folks covering this event and you're coverage is the best. Thanks Tom, keep em coming!
I would hope so, it's HIS event and made people pay to watch it.
Stay your self my Aussie friends, don't change for nobody. From Missouri, and I know what a boot is.
Ask a Brit about their Fanny
@@CarsCatAliens a fanny or a fanny pack?
I agree don't change. we can search the term on the internet if we want to know what he said!
LOL, I still have my 1st pair. of Cowboy boots. Bought em in Gainesville Missouri ,1982.
As a youngster I spent a summer with my cuzins balin' haaay. They lived south of Ava. Returning to Iowa, after a couple days back. My Mom sternly said to me "Stop talking like a damn Hill Billy" !!
Rest her soul, she grew up in Ozark County. Makes me smile to this day, as you said "Stay yourself"
🤙
It's good to see Stephan's Corvette finally get happy.
Dam Tom if anything you built a hell of a burnout machine
that man with the burgundy vet... you're a driver! those launches are so violent
Brett Lasala's car with factory coyote block and heads is absolutely insane.
And crank
@@dailylife3975it has a billet crank now. Talks about it in the latest video.
Crank is now billet, along with main caps, cam retainers, mgp rods, manley pistons, many more aftermaket racing parts on that car. I agree absolutely insane.@@dailylife3975
@@dailylife3975 nahh. Billet crank now. prior combo did have a factory crank though.
once again Brett Lasala and the FFR Real street boys, with that muzzy and the coyote platform , ohhhhh weeee yeah buddy
Sick Week with all the different channels covering it is the best on YT💪!!
Really neat footage. Your editor of these videos does a really nice job.
It's pretty amazing how Brett LaSalle is keeping up with these big block twin turbo cars and he's got a stock block, crank, heads, and running 6.20s lets frickin go
LOL at the Chevette with a trailer almost the same size as the car!
The corvette from Sweden is so violent with the bump and at the hit
This is the best drag and drive event anywhere on earth period! Congrats to Brett and his team, SR is a total weapon and I can see him putting in the work to get an overall win……pressure is all on Lutz with his big boy Street driven promod to hold out the legit street car small tire king
Stop . Snot rocket is almost as much race car as lutz promod .
@@jkfonyi not quite sure how you work out they’re even close. Try putting Lutz car in any categories SR fits in…..
@@baddaddy8718 Neither one of those cars are street cars . They are purpose built race cars . Pretty sure snot rocket is back halved and has 25-2 cage and tube front end . Only thing making sr not a full chassis car is it has stock location front suspension . And lutz is a pro mod obviously. My issue with your comment is the “legit street car” snot rocket is not under any definition a street car . It is a street driven race car which isn’t much different these days from a street driven pro mod . Stretch it couple inches and put a giant carbon body on it . I bet they are running at about the same weight . Tom Bailey said sick2.0 is 2800lbs in street trim and I think Brett said about the same about snot rocket .
@@jkfonyi So you think a Proline billet block, full chrome moly tube chassis car with a carbon body is "almost" the same as a 25.2 car with a factory sleeved block? That doesn't make any sense.
@@jkfonyiget out of feelings already because a 5.0 Ford is one of the top Dawgs, 😂😂😂
Way more impressive to see these radial cars flying ,not far off at all compared to these big floppy slick cars 😂
Literally only because of the thousand gallons of glue they put on every drag strip to make radials "work". 😂
Appreciate the edit! Takes a lot of work to do it based on car and not linear time!
6.23 is crazy for a stock coyote predator block.
With a billet crank, mgp rods, manley pistons,25.2 cert cage, billet main caps, billet cam retainers, after market ecu and electronics, rear end, m&m transmission, yes block and heads are stock with some modifications.6.29 Carbon front end and doors.
@@ruthparker3439 still a stock casting block. Lot of these cars are running full billet blocks or totally in house designed billet blocks like the smx. Not to many stock casting blocks can handle 3000 hp and drive 1000+ miles for drag and drive events.
Regardless it's still considered a stock block setup, but I get where you're coming from 🤙
pretty sure sleeved predator block is not stock, car is still impressive no matter.@@CoopaCoop
@@ruthparker3439 Yeah guess you're right, more or less. I should of just said stock casted block lol. The dude who owns the car calls it a stock sleeved block. Crazy on a stock ford crank too
That sucks for Alex Taylor but that's racing. Good thing she didn't wreck.
Thank you for the great videos and great interviews
Is it me or is that Durango of Tom's absolutely "INSTANT" on throttle response, I mean scary instant, to the tune of a Top Fueler!!!!! Good Luck Tom, you have a hand full and awesome event!!!!
For that thing to NEVER hook....
Everybody was struggling except the snot rocket.... what a pass!
The plumber's crack van is hilarious 😆
To the mate at 9:00 don't worry about correct terms the real fans know the difference between a bonnet and boot and that of the hood and trunk
Rick, the weiner guy had me cracking up, "it needs at least like 80 rpm on that wheel for 15 minutes", lol.
And Aussie guy is cool af, leave that man alone with his lingo, he doesn't need to say hood or trunk, haha.
Great Aussie connection, go get ‘‘em bro!
Jeff lutz seams better at being a tv star then a driver this week 😂
Top 5 in average is bad??
How fast are you, in your street car??
Not bad for a track prepared for radial tire cars.
This video is showing the real struggle trying to get these cars to go fast down the track. Great footage.
Yo thanks so much for these videos man. Love watching sick week. All the way from South Africa 🇿🇦
I cant wait for the day i get to attend sick week or sick ward i love wat this event has become and wat its about the people the energy the vibes are all amazing thank you guys for all the hard work you put into making this happen and for recording and streaming it for the people who cant be there you guys are the best ❤
Tom nice to see you kinda figured it out
This guy can never hook tires on no matter what he drives. No Hook Tom 😂
I don't know anything about anything drag racing but,
Is it possible the Durango's issues are related to the rear suspension geometry setup?
Sick Week has been pretty great so far!
great coverage. *Lots of spinning off the line, I was expecting SnotRocket and Lutz to hook and they did. Never race either of those guys for money. Lol
great coverage. thanks.
Prayers for the little biggest fan of sick week Cara Abney she's ln her hospital bed in Shands still trying to follow her friends Alex Tom and the neighbor good luck from Abney family
I hope Cara recovers quickly and I hope she's enjoying the racing!
Thanks to all her racing friends from dad she's still in bad shape the doctors are not doing what they can there just sorry for what they did so they say but we're still not improving after 7 days no help for our baby girl
37:00 take what you get. Moving up after someone ahead of you has a problem, when your stuff is more reliable, is still ok.
Great content good job, next race will be even better
I need to save my ass off and take apart in this it literally looks sick 👍🏼 🇬🇧
Awesome racing content. Well Done!
Thanks Tom for the sick footage
Tom, I don't know if you read these comments but if I was a betting man I believe I would scale the Durango and have a look at the instant center, you may have to move some bars to get more lift on the rear which in turn would put more downforce on the rear tires. I have had similar issues with my tube chassis S-10 (1500 HP)and it helped mine. I am sure there are some chassis guys there with some ideas.
Snot Rocket 😎👍🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing Loving this
Event has been SICK on the live stream so far!! Thank you for hooking up with Cleetus to bring it to us live!!
Was live, before, and free! Nothing is better, after paying for it!
Allen Cunningham class act 👏
My God. Animals,, Cold Weiners? Would not happen down under where we call car parts by their proper name. Man, I love this channel.
Cool video. Enjoyed watching ✌️ 😎
@14:03,, is that Joe and Joey's '56 Chev? Sure looks like it.
That red vet was getting it too
Love seeing the Durango go. Been watching that truck since it was just a shell.
The radial mustang is awesome but it's midweek, like halftime at the football game. A long way to go.
A Divco milk truck! I like seeing crazy stuff like that!
Out of all these amazing drag cars plumbers crack is definitely one of my favorite, total sleeper 😂
I love listening to this with EarPods. Cranking it up 😅
That is one sick Nova!! Ooops, looks like you split the bonnet!
I'm from Virginia and when I was younger I'm 36 now people always said boot for the trunk of the car I didn't know that was a none usa thing for a long time
Great vid!!!! 🏁
Another great video guys 👍👍
Man, Alex T. Hauls freight!
Beunos Dias!!!!
oh yer. absolutely love the coverage of sick week. discovered last year .thanks to cleetus ..and blasphemy.. then I see a charger from Aus there .wish we had a LX torana.or few old school hg monaros and 2 door xb coupes . I'm positive the American people would absolutely love them .those other has beens showed a few on there Aussie tour 🤪😂😂😂
21:45 my 1970 el camino had the same paint from the factory, sea most green such a terrible color but the nostalgia is worth it. lol
edit *sea MIST green"
Was hoping to see SRC racing on the Highlights.
Tom. It looks like you are loosing traction when the back suspension comes back up after the initial launch. It squats real hard for the first 3 feet but then cones up so fast and hard the ass end is almost coming off the ground. Maybe if you can dial down the rebound.
Don't get me wrong, it's cool to see record breaking passes, and ridiculously fast cars, but seeing guys battling the track.....
It doesn't matter how much power you make if it's spinning.....
I like it because it gives the underdogs a shot
Your title about radials reminds me about what that tuner said. I forget his name now but he did most of the cleetus el camino chassis setup. Rob maybe? Anyway pretty sure it was him I heard about a year or so ago say that radials are faster than slicks, but it's harder to get them setup right. It's such a surprising thing to hear after so long of slicks being the go to tire for drag.
The lack of traction in Toms car is clearly a rear suspension issue. it needs to scrapped and redesigned . Otherwise the lack of traction at launch will never be rectified. I wonder if the shocks are mounted upside down ? Greeting from BMW Engineering Division Germany
23 min mark...Tom's quoat "We can't get out of our own way". Calm frustations coming from a man, trying to tame a beast.. Hang in there, you'll get it done.
Quote... SMH
Could you stay on the time clock just a little bit longer it’s hard to read them both when you’ve got less than a second
the prep for radials was serious, alot of downed shoes at this one lol
Good luck Tom
Would be really cool to see more times in the left lane ....still great job guys be safe!
Thanks TOM you guys will figure it out !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man it looks like a great time out there and it's hard
My only bucket list things are to attend Sick Week and Sick Summer before I’m gone.
Good edits Tom!
Nice thing about EV's is they dont throw down oil. The only way fluids are coming out is going to be a wreck with the rupture of battery/motor cooling system. Its a low pressure system compared to a ICE fuel, oil, & coolant systems so possibly of sudden release also less volume.
29:57 man should buy a Tesla. They're made in America 🇺🇸
Unbelievable how tires won’t hook.
Even sugar momma , blew the tires off.
Radicals are for sure hook in.
Very interesting!!
Great video!!
Yeah because the tracks are a river of glue for the radial cars to be able to go down. 😂
8:22 wow thats impressive
Very good
That mustang was getting it
Tom's truck doesn't even try to lift the front end or transfer weight! Need to loosen the front end up
Yeh it seems to not want to weight transfer at all. I wonder how far forward the bars are mounted. It seems they might have given up a lot just to keep 4 seats in it.
Just goes to show not a pro chassis car short wheelbase truck you actually got to know how to set up suspension not a chassis got to do it for you LOL
Agree, the truck has too much weight on the front to transfer properly, they might be better served by looking at what the gassers did in the 60's and raise the engine and trans upwards, rotate the pinion upwards to help with weight transfer.
That C4 is r0wdy AF
13:50 I’ve seen glue traps for rats that didn’t stick as good as that track. What are they spraying it with? Superglue?
That weight you had in the back wouldn't have passed tech at my 1/4 mi oval for the bone stock jalopy class. Not safe at any speed. Get some lead bricks and bolt them down.
glad the Aussie was talking English, i know boot and bonnet, guard i can guess (i'm from UK)
What a struggle!
Amazing event keep living the dream ✨️
It's not the cars it's the track
Can we all take a moment to realize the quickest pass of the day was a prepped oe parts Coyote.......dang
not many oe parts left on that car, if you watched all of his last video.
Bob! Is fired!
Sick week should try a radial tire only race. Tom is fighting the problem of too much tire and chassis with a low horsepower engine.
boot had a few bodies in them 😂😂😂😂😂
Go Ruby!!!!!
So out of shape on the launch "I almost hit the Christmas tree" Swedish Corvette dude invents a new classic...
just waiting for 1320 to post day two, gonna be a good one
Tom it almost seems like the suspension isn’t separating enough ✌️
