  • This Creo Parametric tutorial video covers the changes made to Simplified Reps in Creo Parametric 4.0 (although this video was created using 5.0).
    Again I am using the PTC World Car dataset, but this time I get to take advantage of the Automatic rep for loading the minimum required dataset. I show the effects of the hide_pre_creo4_reps and how much simpler creating and managing Simplified Reps has become.

    You need to show more about 'show hide' components, and how you can get these views on drawings. It was easy to figure out, but I may have gotten lucky...regardless, this video did point me to where I can do that, and got me on my way. And if I'm asking for too much (which may very well be), then my apologies as I know you can't read all our minds. Thanks for all the other videos.

    Fellow Shotcut user? My wife and I liked it a lot too, but eventually switched to Davinci Resolve (also has a capable free version). The switch took a bit of relearning, but it quickly paid off by reducing the time it takes to sort through and layout clips.

      I was 5 years ago when I made this video. Now I use Camtasia.

    Hi Dave, Please how do I redefine a new simplified representation in the view manager using "substitute" and "by rep" as rules?

    Is there a way in Creo 4.0 and up to assemble a component to an assembly and choose which simplified rep or reps it should be added to in the assembly?

      I think you might misunderstand Simplified Reps. They are a Large Assembly Management tool for controlling how much detail about a model you’re bringing into your computer’s RAM, not a model configuration.

      @@CADPLMGuy So what should be used for model/ assembly configuration? Unfortunately searching Creo and configuration comes up with a lot of extraneous answers as you can imagine.
      And do you have a video that you could recommend?

      Family Tables are the most common method of making variations from a parent assembly. If you’re using assemblies with components in different positions, you can use Component Flexibility and/or mechanisms. You can find videos on all those subjects on my channel.

    Hi Dave,
    How to handle large assembly step files?

    • @CADPLMGuy
      @CADPLMGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much the same as any other STEP files. Largely depends on the nature of the issues you’re having.

      @@CADPLMGuy It's taking lot of time for opening the large step files, is there any way to open quickly?
      Thank you...
