I'm wondering if we are getting some sort of pre-E3 direct to get the games we know about out of the way so E3 can focus on new games/games we know less about.
The time crunch is because they've been notified about a new Direct dropping in the next couple of days, probably focusing on Pokemon Sword and Shield, since major Pokemon announcements tend to happen in late May/early June just before E3. They've mentioned in the past that Nintendo generally lets them know when they're about to drop big announcements about a week ahead of time.

I think they're doing this so everybody basically has something akin to a wiimote. (a single joycon can act as a wiimote on crack) If there are two people building at once, it's important that everybody can build as fast as possible, so the players don't get in each others way. (Example: Waiting for your friend to finish building something, when you want to scroll the screen would be shorter and less annoying) It's just one of those things where Nintendo is restricting us for our own sake. Many players wouldn't come to the conclusion of using detached joycons themselves, so they decided for us.
@@TrimutiusToo No he is correct, the icon is relayed over the screen indicator due to it's similar height to the screen we instead should count from the bottom block to the top. Another thing to note is that there could be also a third row of screens to the left so you spawn in the center row and don't spawn in the corner, if that's the case we could have even more than expected.
Sorry but twelve screens is the right answer. One screen is 13.5 blocks high. If we multiplicate this with 11 we get 148.5. The half block isnt logic, right? Also twelve is a better number than 11
@@hylianro He means literally no touching the floor, like wall jumps o spin jumps, to wall slides while also having to keep a fire flower or specific power up to pass or something akin to that. Something we could do before but this would make it easier cause we don't need spikes as the floors

Actually, to answer your question about the Boo Circles, they seem to be mobile at night. They aren't on tracks, as you can tell because they stop when Mario looks at them, unless Boos on tracks now stop when you look at them, which would be pretty cool

I think the charvaarghs actually chase mario, because the one that pops up from the foreground comes from the place where another landed. Also at the end you can barely see one trying to swim to mario with just it’s head out.
The different height to width ratio between horizontal and vertical sublevels reminds from how SMW handles horizontal and vertical sublevels. Note that by "screen", I refer to a 16x16 box (or 256x256 pixels) instead of a 16x14 box (SNES screen). A typical horiziontal sublevel in SMW is 32 screens (i.e. 512 blocks) wide and 27 blocks (or 1 11/16 screens) high (of which the last row is invisible). As a result, a single horizontal level can carry up to 13824 different blocks. But things get slightly different with vertical levels: They have got a width of two screens but a height of 28 screens (or 32x448 blocks) which in total is 14336 blocks or exactly 512 more blocks than a horizontal level. Just a fun fact.

7:27 if you look at the mushroom, the two arrows are greyed out but the other conditions have brown-ish arrows next to them signalling you can change them. So is there only one status clear condition?
i'm pretty sure you can't set a clear condition for any object that's not in the level. for example, you can't say "defeat all the bowser juniors" if you haven't placed any. so, if there's only one status clear condition, that suggests that only one type of powerup has been placed in the level.
Sec 00:28. Did you notice that probably you can stack goombas (or any enemy) and load them into a pipe to have them pushed out in one shoot? It would be a cool feature. Also it would be good to have the chance to store 1 enemy + 1 item alternatively into a pipe to avoid putting 2 pipes together and to avoid doing extra things here and there. Thanks for the video.
i'm pretty confident there aren't going to be any vertical main areas. the stop-scroll feature will be essential for building tall towers. that way you can build two spires side-by-side and neither will be visible from the other.
@@sirmoonslosthismind with the scroll stop you could create the illusion of a tower level. example: you can create a verticle tower in the main area and at the top is a pipe which takes you to sub area which looks like a continuation of the tower.
A small thing I noticed but not many people mention: apparently the music for 3D world ghost house is not Shifty Boo Mansion. they used the remix of Mario 3 ghost house from Mario Maker 1 for some reason.
Why does the Koopa Car use the original version of Super Mario Kart's Mario Circuit? 3D World has a remix of that in Mount Must Dash, a pretty fantastic one at that.
What if the Red Yoshi works like a fire clown car? Riding him while beeing Fire Mario will make him spit three fireballs, while beeing normal Mario just one. Just a little thought.

In 15:32 we see two kinds of Ant Troopers. One with spike helmets and one without spike helmets. I’m guessing that means that you can switch between this in the Ant Tropper’s tweak menu. Also, at 16:52 you asked if maybe the tracks would be invisible at night, but this isn’t the case, as you can see that the boo ring stops moving when Mario looks at it, meaning that it is indeed a new behavior.

At around the 16:52 mark you were wondering if the Boos could move at night or if there are invisible tracks at night. I'm pretty sure that the Boos would move at night without the need for tracks. The reason with that being is that in the direct we could see Mario looking at the boos for a split second, and watch them stop. I don't think they stop on the tracks if looked at, seeing as the track properties keeps an object moving regardless. Another reason on why the Boos could move by themselves is because certain objects have different properties at night, such as the 1-up mushroom being a poison mushroom instead. Now, does this mean that tracks won't be invisible at night? I honestly can't tell. We might to have to wait for the release itself.
I've heard the idea that Yoshi has to eat a fire flower to turn red, and that makes sense given the emphasis on the flower and Mario's fire flower powerup state in those clips. What gets me super excited is that the clip also has a sneaky feather floating just at the edge of the screen... does this mean BLUE YOSHI IS CONFIRMED, TOO?! :D The seeming lack of extra Yoshis has bothered many people, myself included: why include red Yoshi if the blue and yellow aren't also added? But maybe they are after all :D

Normally Normal it might not be unlocked yet

I think yoshi will automatically turn red when you have a fire flower to make use of the power up even when you are on yoshi.
No... I think it's by using a mushroom on the yoshi egg which turns it red, and the yoshi becomes red, too.

There needs to be a sign to read in this game. I shouldn’t have to spell things out with coins. There could even be a Choose Your Own Mario Adventure ©️. You could put a sign over a pipe or near a door, and you could experience something different.
This game is going to be so awesome.
Also, my favorite additional features are the new level themes and the Super Mario 3d World style.

This might sound wired but did the castle theme have windows before hand? I keep noticing these big beautiful windows in the background of the castle in the New super Mario style and I don’t remember them being there before, yet they don’t seem to talk about them, so are they new or not?

In 15:32 we see two kinds of Ant Troopers. One with spike helmets and one without spike helmets. I’m guessing that means that you can switch between this in the Ant Tropper’s tweak menu. Also, at 16:52 you asked if maybe the tracks would be invisible at night, but this isn’t the case, as you can see that the boo ring stops moving when Mario looks at it, meaning that it is indeed a new behavior.

At around the 16:52 mark you were wondering if the Boos could move at night or if there are invisible tracks at night. I'm pretty sure that the Boos would move at night without the need for tracks. The reason with that being is that in the direct we could see Mario looking at the boos for a split second, and watch them stop. I don't think they stop on the tracks if looked at, seeing as the track properties keeps an object moving regardless. Another reason on why the Boos could move by themselves is because certain objects have different properties at night, such as the 1-up mushroom being a poison mushroom instead.
Now, does this mean that tracks won't be invisible at night? I honestly can't tell. We might to have to wait for the release itself.

I've heard the idea that Yoshi has to eat a fire flower to turn red, and that makes sense given the emphasis on the flower and Mario's fire flower powerup state in those clips. What gets me super excited is that the clip also has a sneaky feather floating just at the edge of the screen... does this mean BLUE YOSHI IS CONFIRMED, TOO?! :D The seeming lack of extra Yoshis has bothered many people, myself included: why include red Yoshi if the blue and yellow aren't also added? But maybe they are after all :D

I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but in the clip with the boo buddies chasing Mario, he looks back at them for a second and they hide in fear. This isn't exhibited by them in the first Mario Maker, pointing to the likelihood of this being a night feature.

I think that's how Circling Boo Buddies work at night, as some enemies (like Goombas and Goombrats) float during night-themed overworld courses.

The *twirl" in the Mario 3D world theme is from Mario Sunshine, it looks to work the same as it did in that game!
Mario doesn't hit Red Yoshi when he spits the fire out, could it be automatic? Especially since it's desynced with the scene in the night sky

/Δ\ I would guess the face is maybe a respawn point? And I would assume when cat Mario is on the fence he would climb normally because cat Mario can’t climb forever, so it would be dumb you started to slide down a fence
