Great Video and great tip. The battery died in my safe and I was locked out of it for weeks until I saw this. I agree, Cannon support is worthless. Here is another option you can try that worked for me. Find a 9 volt wall wart power supply. It was able to open my safe after 5 or 6 different brands of 9 volt batteries batteries would not.The power supply I have (and will keep near my safe forever now) has an output of 9 volts, 400 ma. Cut the connector off near the end of the wire and strip the insulation back about 1/2 inch on both sides. Make sure to watch your the polarity when you jump the lock, so that you are touching + to + and - to - on the battery connector. Mine has a white stripe on the + side wire, the - side is all black. I may try to hard wire the lock through the inside of the door and out the hole in the back where the dehumidifier power come in. Good luck.
You saved the day! I changed the battery (unfortunately a generic). Still could not open safe. Saw your video, put a energizer 9 volt in, it opened easily. I had no clue that name brand were truly better. Thank you!
WORKED!! I had been using a cheaper battery for the last 8 years. It stopped accepting the cheaper ones. Replaced it with Energizer Max and opened right up.

Cannon’s customer service (if you can call it that) SUCKS ! You call and try to get help because your safe wont open and then wait on hold for 30 mins then they hang up on you ! 🤬
Had my Liberty safe for almost 4 years on original battery. This is a good reminder that I should change it before this happens. I’ll be sure to have the safe open when I do

I made a failed ammo trip to my academy this week, but noticed they had a really wide Cannon safe on sale for $699. I passed it up because I did not want to mess with a >600-lb safe.

Just push down on the keypad from the top and change the battery. I have that very same keypad on mine.

I have the same safe, also from TS. I change the battery every year and keep an index card in the safe and write down the date every time I change it. I've had mine for about 7 or 8 years and so far no problems.

I have the same safe from Tractor Supply, my lock failed after owning it for 1.5 years....digital locks are JUNK. Never again Cannon

Couldn't find one put in another brand didn't work but a lithium battery in. Worked then over night it went dead an it's beeping again. Any solutions??
I tried a $18 energizer lithium battery and it still won't open... spent 30 minutes twice with cannon support waiting to talk to someone just to get disconnected by automated voice stating no one is availavle... unreal. Have had this safe 13 years. Hate to have it drilled

I wish I had your problem I bought a new Canon stay from tractor supply and 2019 only open it about twice a month last week I opened it and the shaft on the handle broke off inside the safe I called Cannon they wanted a multitude of things videos receipts pictures finally got that done and then they sent me an email it will take 15 to 20 days to send someone to fix this piece of crap I would not recommend this to anyone spend a little more money and get a better safe thank you for your time
I have Lithium batteries - I replaced it with another $10 Batterie did nothing still wont open with code
Going cheap on your stuff isn’t always the best way. Sometimes quality is better than quantity.
That didn’t work on mine I replaced the battery with energizer max and another battery with alkaline didn’t do the trick

Sir you just kept me from blowing open my Canon with 100 pounds of tannerite… would enter my code and hear a single ‘beep’ but nothing more… changed the battery (before I watched your video) and again the same beep and this was with a new Duracell standard battery… bought the Duracell MAX and boom. Opened right up. Thank you so much

My elcheapo safe has a warning tone when battery gets low. I go through 3-4 9v batteries a year lol maybe i go into it to much 🤣🤣

My safe is a Safari (made by Cannon) and it has a "J" key as an emergency option, and it also has an external battery pack with a connection on the face of the key pad. My batteries are inside the safe. So, I assume your battery is accessible from the outside of the safe right?
Yes it is. I wish I had a key for emergencies. Really great feature to have.

Or... If that doesn't work, you can reprogram your code with the last code you used, the door doesn't even need to be opened in order for it to work, just hold down zero until it beeps twice and then put your code in twice.
