Someone watched Aliens, and then saw the Facehugger scene, and something clearly awakened in them. Something along the lines of "That Xenomorph kinda bad, though." And then the Alien Queen showed up in Aliens, and it was over...
The actual and simplest explanation is that surrealist and horror artist H. R. Giger who created and designed Sil also created the original Alien for the 1979 Alien film.
I remember the stupid AF stinger at the end almost ruining the entire movie for me. How did the rat mutate into that creature? I get that it ate parts of Sil's corpse, but the DNA sequences used to create Sil were *specifically* designed by the aliens to be merged with a human's -- it should not have worked with a rat. Plus Sil was her own unique being, and not "contagious". The stinger made no sense whatsoever. Even though the sequels were awful, at the very least they ignored the dumb mutant rat.
Jeff Bezos hiring the off brand A-Team to kill a man-made alien is much more believable than someone renting a hotel room using a bunch of crumpled 1 dollar bills.

Poor, poor Sil. A scared, confused little girl in pain, with no one to help or comfort her, who loses her humanity and becomes little more than an animal driven purely by survival instinct.

Whole thing could of been avoided if they just didn't try to kill her at the start. First thing you teach shit like this, mutants, aliens, sentient AI, whatever you grow in a lab that is smart, teach it kindness and that you are to be trusted above all else. Do that, and your chances of shit going wrong drops a lot. It's always the same story with movies or books like this. Lab creates ai, treats it like shit or lies to it etc, ai goes crazy and wants to kill you. Lab creates smart monkey, same thing happens. Lab creates mutants, again same thing happens. All of these movies have the same trend of the "antagonist" of the film really being created by humans, and not just because humans literally created them but because humans always seems to teach them the same shit: Humans are liars and want to harm you. Hard to be on the side of humans in these kinds of movies.
With the first and most famous example being Frankensteins monster who only became a semi evil murderer because his creator immediately abandoned him and left him to die only to lie to him when they meet again by going back on his promise to build him a wife.
So my mind wasn't just making this up back when I was a little kid? So this movie ain't one of those weird childhood fever dreams and guilty-pleasure shit? This movie actually exists?
