I've played in Aurora Skies and the seasons there, with the aurora borealis, look amazing, especially during winter. I feel like this town should have been included with the Season expansion.
Hey, did you notice this isn't a review, but something called LGR Plays? That's exactly what this is: a first impressions commentary, made off-the-cuff and without preparation. Sorry if you didn't read the title or description, but that's not my fault :)
As always, the pirates win. All the content, none of the soul-crushing cost. EA needs to start delivering these products for more reasonable prices or it's going to bite them in the ass, hard. Just look at what happened with the SimCity franchise. Colossal Order has stolen the city-builder crown, and they're selling it for *less* than what SimCity (2013) costs. O.o I'm not against paying EA for their products, but FFS, I should get some sort of bulk price discount if I buy everything. As it is, if you want to buy all the packs and the game at once, you pay full price. Just...come on. This is edging toward Train Simulator levels of insanity, except EA doesn't have the excuse of catering to a seriously niche market and thus needing to up the cost.
Tbh since I'm buying everything EA second hand ever since Sims 3 add ons, I don't think they get lots of money from me anyway, u know? And I actually don't regret not supporting them as much as I fo with other companies nowadays....
Yeah, the buildings are brightly coloured boxes not because they are badly done, but because that's the architectural style in Scandinavia. Combined with the landscape, hot springs, and Aurora Borealis, it makes me think EA was going for that style on purpose.
hejsacarolineogemili Denmark is not quite as Scandinavian *architecturally* speaking, as it is more influenced by Central European (namely German) architecture. In Sweden and Norway you see a lot of what we see in Aurora Skies. But better, of course; this is, after all, only an approximation, made within the parameters of the game engine.
Hdhd Hdhd no, it’s an awesome website. The website mods and the community are very diligent and help you so much with installation. I tested the packs myself, everything works as it should.
I play the Sims for the family life so I really wanted the toddler walker caus it teaches the toddlers how to walk so freaking fast and without any effort. The only thing is that I didn't want to buy it on the Sims Store... So I took a CC walker, downloaded it and it works! Sure, there is a glitch that when my toddler is doing nothing in it he's transformed into a creepy slenderman, but hey, it's free xD
Emilie Poirier Eh I didn't mind having to teach the toddler's to talk without the toddler walker. I just found the little guys fun to mess around with (unlike children and teens). Though I too remember using a CC walker which did a little slenderman glitch aswell...made rasing a family in the Sims more fun if not creepy.
Emilie Poirier I hd a bunch of Simpoints from preordering TS3 Collector's edition back in 2008/2009-ish and I was able to buy like 5 hairstyles as well as this so-called "walker" :) It was rather inexpensive in my opinion.
I use a PC I custom-built to play high-end games and edit/render video efficiently. As such, there are four hard drives inside totaling 3.5TB, so no, I just install whatever I want all at once :)
Firstly I was a bit disappointed with the buildings as well as you because it reminded me my bad building skills when I started playing the sims, but later I actually loved it because it looks absolutely like in Iceland or some other Scandinavian country and the colors are perfectly copied. I love it now and it's kind of a good thing for a game because it's much much different. It's so much fun to play in such house and decorate it.
Alright. That balloon? It's a piece of crap. A straight-up piece of crap. It teleports instead of flying. You don't even get real binoculars or booze with the thing...People should have known how TS4 would turn out just from TS3 content like this...
7:50 - Eh - AURORA BOREALIS? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the Internet, localized entirely within this city? LGR: Yes. May I see it? EA: ... no.
I always love watching your reviews. You're one of the few people online that I trust their judgement of these games. Thanks to you, I've saved a ton of money because I didn't buy any stupid towns or stuff packs that aren't worth the price. And your comments are always the best part of your reviews!
You have a great Broadcasting Voice Love it!! Plus your sense of humor is awesome love how you describe the new sims 3 world love it!!Keep keeping us smile!!
"What kind of relationship is this? An interesting one. Let's leave that to fester." Wonderful, just wonderful. xD Honestly though, thank you for the world reviews.. EA gave me 10,000 points, and I was gonna buy one of these towns and well.. You saved me from wasting sweet, sweet points!
@4:15 *GASP* Don't you EVER talk to me or my cheesy son again!! He's a gouda boi! You cheddar apologize and leave us provolone! Cantal brie-lieve this man-chego! called us out!
I just purchased the Tiny prodigies center from AS. I didn't want to spend the $ on the whole thing when I only liked a few items. Glad they have that option.
I think the look they were trying to achieve with the colorful buildings would be like some of the buildings you'd find in eastern Canada/northern Europe.
I remember I got this neighborhood partly because of the balloon and MAN was that thing falsely advertised. With the pictures they made it look like you could indeed float high in the sky for real. Nope!
You are not being negative, you are being honest and truthful about the content (or lack thereof) Considering the fact you could easily download mod's from the online community gratis and the quality would far, far better than this.
Luke he just presses the tab button on the keyboard then moves the mouse. Then Pres tab again to get out of that menu. I'm glad you reviewed this LGR, definitely changes my mind on it.
i just love your humor and style... i mean, you made me watch like 5 hours of sims videos, even though i really dislike sims... thanks for making another day of mine better :)
A play mat rug crossed with the "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" neighborhood model is what that "downtown" area reminds me of. What a strange feeling of nostalgia at 10:37.
This was awesome, thanks as always for making these LGR! Oh and I can't thank you enough for the free towns that you listed in the description, really helps
Uhhhh. Just a thought... when you were trying to "Go Here" to a place they couldn't walk to... I bet the balloon could take him there. Also, the Sight See option on the balloon might have been interesting. I've just started playing this town and I actually really like the Nordic/Icelandic feel of it, and was pleased to find a bunch of musicians for my drummer guy to jam with. I'm constantly running out of large lot space in other towns. This one has plenty. Anyway, carry on. Love ya. :)
Hey dude, thanks for your reviews. You've helped me save my money on a few of these things, and convinced me to buy Sunlit Tides at some point. I may totally steal your Dead Island inspiration and do a Lets Play Sims 3 Banoi. :D
I gotta admit I'm really excited for the University and Island Paradise EPs. IP looks very new and interesting and ads what looks like a whole load of new functionalities (although it's mostly speculation but it seems to add a lot more usable space which is good 'cause those cities really need more room for growth what with all the new community buildings they add with every EP) and it has boats and houseboats and I do believe I am gushing but it looks sooo shiny.
Thanks for the review especially for making me laugh. Sunlit tides still my favourite LGR review, that had me crying with laughter. Agree Aurora Skies is too expensive for what it is. Looking forward to the University Life review.
Considering it's not out yet, not much of anything at all. I don't care for these overpriced towns much, I've made that pretty clear by now. And I don't give a crap about pre-release marketing fluff, which is all we have to go on right now, so I will make up my mind once I get it and let you all know my opinion in video form once it's out :)
Even though this world received so many bad reviews.. I somehow enjoyed playing in this world, It seems that I just love to play worlds with bright color scheme like Sunlike Tides, and the colorful lego-like theme of this world is really refreshing. They capture the architecture of Iceland--the country this world based of- quite perfectly with boxed colorful houses and minimalist theme, too bad people already discouraged with the boxed houses before they did some research about Iceland.
In the uk this town costs £40 for the gold version. An expansion is around £15- £30 on amazon. You could get 2 expansions!!!!! A stuff pack is around £10 you could get 4 stuff packs for the price of this town.
11:20 No, it isn't just you, that really looks like something a child would play with compared to the semi-realistic colors on the other buildings in that area...
I've been told Aurora Skies was based off of/inspired by Iceland, which is actually beautiful with tons of forests, a volcano, and a glacier. From what I've seen so far, Aurora Skies looks nothing like Iceland.
Hmm...you think that they would put at least something by the edge of the waterfall that you took your fiance to, I mean I don't know anything about world building but I figure that if you can put a few purple plants you can at least put a bench there as well or something....makes me want to learn how to make worlds cause I honestly feel that given a little time and love I could make something much nicer than there.
The sky shows at random times. There's no pattern. I agree the Hot Air Balloon is a total bust. I wish you'd shown more of the toddler items and early learning center, though. Those are the few things in this town that are actually really cool and have a lot of functionality.
I've played in Aurora Skies and the seasons there, with the aurora borealis, look amazing, especially during winter. I feel like this town should have been included with the Season expansion.
This is obviously an Icelandic theme, what with the volcanic soil, auroras, geothermal activity, and northern European architecture.
The names of the sims in the town too
Yeah, or Scandinavian themed... I'm Norwegian and yeah... It looks like it could just as well be from Norway.
+Kobirita ja hele byen har hus som er veldig norsk og himmelen hadde nordlys :)
Henrik Floa Ja, sant det.. :P
I used to loooooove this town because of the buildings =) My house was made by a Finnish company in very similar style to those buildings =)
Actually the houses are meant to be like that.
It's typical northern European houses
Since it was about kids stuff I thought it was meant to be a kids playmat
@@ariellwrf6844 aaaaw that's adorable!
@Anna i think its supposed to be like iceland
@Annagirl123 yea, he’s talking about more about northern scandinavia, ”Norrland” and the like, houses look like that up there 11:00
“Could be worse somehow” Sims 4 foreshadowing
"i like sim city and i want it to come out so i can play something good"
oh my sweet, sweet, summer child. you knew not what ye say.
"It's just green clouds! It could be friggin acid rain for all I know!" xDD I love your video reviews
"They murdered those trees! That is carnage." I am rolling 😂
TREE GORE
They're eating the trees
Hey, did you notice this isn't a review, but something called LGR Plays? That's exactly what this is: a first impressions commentary, made off-the-cuff and without preparation. Sorry if you didn't read the title or description, but that's not my fault :)
This is why I download the worlds/premium content for free. I like the sims but EA is not a company I give a crap about supporting.
There's piracy, and then there's downloading DLC when it gets too ridiculous.
I feel as far as The Sims is concerned the second camp is more the case.

Piracy is the reason it is the way it is with DRM and DLC
*Walks into room and just stands there like a Sim with no purpose, caring*
I call it the IKEA town :)
The town appears to be sort of Scandinavian or Icelandic.
Yeah, the buildings are brightly coloured boxes not because they are badly done, but because that's the architectural style in Scandinavia. Combined with the landscape, hot springs, and Aurora Borealis, it makes me think EA was going for that style on purpose.
Classic Rock Kid Doesn't look Scandinavian to me. At least not Danish.
hejsacarolineogemili Denmark is not quite as Scandinavian *architecturally* speaking, as it is more influenced by Central European (namely German) architecture. In Sweden and Norway you see a lot of what we see in Aurora Skies. But better, of course; this is, after all, only an approximation, made within the parameters of the game engine.
***** It's exactly like a classical Icelandic town. And it may seem the grass color is exaggerated, but in Iceland grass is exactly same color.
Not at all exaggerated, that is the colour of grass over here too.
Shots fired at Scandinavian architecture!
It costs way too much, which is why we cheat and find them free online!
[The Crows Nest] TV exactly 😂
depressed cockroach is it save?
@@abkarmy4666 yeah its safe. you can download every single piece of sims dlc you want

I don't. As mentioned, the towns are sent to me for video purposes.
I play the Sims for the family life so I really wanted the toddler walker caus it teaches the toddlers how to walk so freaking fast and without any effort. The only thing is that I didn't want to buy it on the Sims Store... So I took a CC walker, downloaded it and it works! This is perfect to be a new town for Seasons Expansion Pack. Missed opportunity :/
Firstly I was a bit disappointed with the buildings as well as you because it reminded me my bad building skills when I started playing the sims, but later I actually loved it because it looks absolutely like in Iceland or some other Scandinavian country and the colors are perfectly copied. favorite part
It's coming the 5th in the US, and of course I'll be reviewing it.
Hard limit to -6db with a +3.5db boost, and some slight EQ tweaks to increase the mid range, then hard limit again to level it all out.
7:50 - Eh - AURORA BOREALIS? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the Internet, localized entirely within this city?
LGR: Yes.
May I see it?
EA: ... no.
The homes are actually pretty good if they're aiming for Iceland like home. Some of the houses there are pretty dang bright.

lost it at "genius level of a piece of cheese" xD!
If Grand Theft Auto and The Sims 3 had a baby.... that would be the best game evvverrrrrrr .If only though.
This!!! Needs to be made
If that happens your computer would obviously burst out of flames
I think the look they were trying to achieve with the colorful buildings would be like some of the buildings you'd find in eastern Canada/northern Europe.
I remember I got this neighborhood partly because of the balloon and MAN was that thing falsely advertised. With the pictures they made it look like you could indeed float high in the sky for real. Nope!
your voice is so soothing omg
I love the honesty in your videos. Thanks for the reality check (EA videos tend to make things sound like sunshine and rainbows).
I cannot stop laughing when I watch your videos! Haha, you make the Sims seem more fun to play than it actually is
That area you were mentioning at 11:10 reminds me of Mr. Rogers neighborhood. Lol
Neither, I use the store-bought versions.
I think this is the best game review I've ever seen.
I like watching your videos, they are hilarious!! I appreciate your honesty; it is absolutely refreshing.
Maybe so, and that makes sense. But I still feel they look cheap and out-of-place compared to their surroundings in this game.
LOL you have such a "TV" voice. I cant explain it, its like a commercial voice and its really cool and makes your reviews all the more fun to watch
You are not being negative, you are being honest and truthful about the content (or lack thereof) Considering the fact you could easily download mod's from the online community gratis and the quality would far, far better than this.

"And...You know...there were....other things.....That's the extend of my school memories" LOL
I do not buy any of the sims games until I watch your reviews first. I love them.
I love it, how you repeat that EACH AND EVERY time you put up an LGR plays episode...
I personally love this world. It reminds me of my boys’ play mat with their toy cars & legos 🥰🥰🥰

Think the houses look a bit like lego! Looking forward to sim city though.
So, how was SimCity 2013?
It may be disappointing but the architecture of the rabbit holes is amazing

I wish you would of looked deeper into it. The school has rooms and the furniture design has a nice aesthetic if you like modern.
what i most like in these video was the end with that sun rising :)
10 seconds into the first video ive watched by you and im in love with your voice
is the aurora thing meant to be like the northen lights in iceland
I think I'll enjoy this world even more than I do now once University comes out. Then I'll be able to make even better venues with new objects.

"Tree gore"
Sounds legit.
Can't wait to see your University Life review come March.
It's supposed to look like a little Scandinavian town. That's why the buildings in the center are all funny colors.
I'M CRYING FROM LAUGHING SO MUCH
crazy! 44 dollars! this is absurd. and this world sucks!
thanks for another incredible video, man. i'm your follower since a long time ago! :)

I have all these towns, gotta love the bay.
You should be a radio talk guy or DJ or whatever they call them! Your voice is easy and fun to listen to!
