Peaceful Warrior Martial Arts and Healing Center Domo Arigato for the videos, please put it subtitled in spanish, congratulations for your good work.Oss.
idk why i didn't learn this in shorinkan training (4th kyu purple belt here) but this is very useful, it's very similar to what I've learned in BJJ in the first month this shows that all martial arts are related and that we are one big family. I also saw someone ask to put subtitles in Spanish in the comments section, if you like, I could help sub in spanish and portuguese (born in america raised half of my life in mexico lol) arigato sensei
Different schools, even in the Shorinkan, have different focuses in their training. There are definitely connections and similarities throughout the martial arts, though!
This was my lesson for my students last week! Very awesome! My focus was using both legs to attack the one stepping in by hooking the ankle and the knee. Keep it up thinking outside the box! In my 35 years in the Arts I have only seen 1 instructor in the striking arts teaching this. Great job!
Thank you! Sensei Poage done some training in Japanese Jujitsu, shootfighting and BJJ. I trained regularly in Judo for several years, myself. We continue to incorporate our grappling experience into our training on a regular basis, so it has been a matter of keeping it up and expanding on it.
Karl Eduard the Gracie’s do a good job covering this on Gracie breakdown, and there’s a few other channels which I forget the name, they do it better in my opinion. I’ll come back and till you if I remember
one of the best vids made by this channel, for the simple fact that a lot of strikers won't know this.
Thanks for watching! It is definitely a subject we felt needed to be addressed
