We are loving family that live in bamboo huts & now a cottage in Rural Thailand. Damo (me), Ryan (my husband), and Otis (Our Son) spend our days taking care of the land and the animals and enjoying each others company. Its the simple life and we love to share it with you. I've followed Life in Bamboo for quite a while now and find Ms. Damo the most interesting character in this real-life podcast. It is quite unusual for a child from a simple upcountry rural family to become a bilingual, confident and capable young woman. I would like Damo to tell us about her journey from her school days until she met her husband and began filming "Life in Bamboo."

Loved seeing all of the things you do during the day. Damo has everything under control and Tis and the other children are such a great help. And it was a treat that Ryan stopped into the Cafe to purchase an ice coffee and an apple, but the Cafe owner wasn't too happy he did have the full payment.... LOL 😂🙏 That was cute... So good to feel you all together and back to "normal".....or as "normal" as "this normal" is... 💞😆🤩

Always makes me smile watching your family life
Had a few good laughs during this vlog 5555 Otis is super smart. Him bringing the 'weeds' to plant in the garden was funny but actually he's anticipating on growing foods for the animals! That calculation in his Nice Day Cafe, 30 for the apple and 60 for the iced coffee so the whole thing is 100 Baht, VAT included on the fly! His knowledge of the Thai language is progressing really well, hats off to him!

I'm in a similar family and living situation and my 4 year old is really leaning towards English if you talk to her in Thai she will respond in english. I'm very jealous of how easily Otis switches between Thai and English, watching Otis makes me feel I've failed my little one 😢

Our daughter, and all 4 of our nephews were raised by their grandmother and they all turned out to be sweet, kind, generous, respectful, hard working and intelligent adults. It seems to be the “norm” in Thailand and we are perfectly Ok with that.

I loved the respect from the little one's to their elders in our village.. My daughter did the same on the way from school. There is so much beauty in Thailand and especially with village life, but it is not all butterflies and sunshine remember. My house was broken into and a local lad was quickly found and the villagers punished him and I agreed not to report it! I love Thailand and my daughter is at a Thai University, but I pay for it from the UK.. Hope to go back one day with a better education
