I'm amazed no one is talking about one of Dobes' best moments when, after a glove save, he had the presence of mind and vision to see Gallager open near the Avs' blue line and made a split second decision to play the puck and almost launched Gally on a breakaway. Amazing that such a young guy would be so cool under pressure and not only focus on his net, but the whole surface of play!! Very impressive.
I'm 53 and watched my Habs from 6 years of age and up win 5 Stanley Cups . I have seen the best . And the last time Montreal won the Stanley cup . And boy , do I remember that one like yesterday.
@paulouellette6934 Nope. He's saying it won't be the best hockey you've watched. Which I still think is kinda bs. The '93 Habs were good but other then that the late 80s-90s Habs weren't that insane. Roy really carried IMO.
Demidov has insane hands. I cant believe the moves he pulls. This guy will be one of the bst players i the NHL within 5 years. Absolutely insane skills.
Yep. Especially next year too, Demidov, Beck, Dobes probably again, and I mean we could very well see Reinbacher or Mailloux. Fowler I don't think will but we will really see in the AHL if he's that true future top end starter.
We've certainly seen a huge shift in drafting for the Habs. There is finally some talent in the pipeline for fans to get excited about. It;s been so many years of trading away first round picks and it came to an end under the new management. So many of the cup winning teams went through this process to build depth in the organization as there will undoubtedly be players that will leave in free agency and having depth in the organization will serve us well for years to come. Very exciting time to be a fan and watch this team grow. GHG
you're deluding yourself. they will probably trade Hutson to get another draft pick in the 5th round. They are morons..scouting, development, management...they suck. They will never have a quality coach, no disrespect to MSL, because you need a french coach. Let's face it, english coaches like Dick Irvin and Scotty Bowman can't compare to Julien and Therien etc.
Well done again boys. There is a lot to look forward to for sure. I have been excited about the goaltending for a long time now and we are not even talking about Volokhin or for some of the other goalie prospects like Miller and Croteau. While they all can’t play, it sets us up nicely for a trade to get another rugged winger (maybe some who can fight), another bona fide sniper and another Carrier type d-man. We may have that within but time will tell. I must agree with some of the other comments about being positive even when things are not going well. You guys have it down to a science because there were times when I questioned the team around having a pee wee coach, over-hyping players and a longer rebuild but I always walked away from one of your videos feeling better about the team and look at us now. A few more Newfie jigs thrown in there would be a plus too. 😊
3:27 Marty was talking about the team in general and he actually said: There's a difference between needing to eat and being hungry, this team is hungry right now!
I like your podcast been watching for months now, you guys are great, i love the enthusiasm but also the honesty when the team is not doing well. Good content! Happy new year guys!
Demidov honestly I think might be better than Celebrini. Absolute miracle we got him. Not only that but we see him digging in and playing gritty too! Something you love to see.
I cant lie. Habs Digest have been day 1 Jake Evans fans. Not that habs fans didn't like Evans. But as soon as Josh or Jesse would bring up trade rumors surounding Evans, they wouldn't like them. I was like okay. Hes important but if the price is right then yeah let him go. Then in preseason he was playing phenomenal. I believe i commented somewhere even, could he score 20 goals? About everyone said no including myself. Kinda wanted to just throw it out there for how good he was doing. Now hes on pace for 22! I mean i still am not sure he will get 20. December he shot 50% and thats how he got a lot of his goals. But its insane to see kinda a troll comment become a possible reality. He also is just a great two way player. Great at pk. Great at faceoffs. Like theres not a thing he cant do. Heck he has more 5 on 5 goals then Suzuki who had 33 goals last year.
Both goals were high IQ but the second one had everything in one play. Defensive awareness. Individual skill. Passing. Manipulation. Effort. Hockey sense.
Josh and Jesse, you guys are great, but slow down a shade. The pace is frantic, and rushed. You have discussions I like, and my god the content updates are fabulous. Just slow down a bit, like Hutson taking that extra half second. Sincerely, Mike Olmstead, Sports Editor of the Newport Daily Express. I’m pretty easy to find, and I’d love to talk hockey with the both of you.
I can see the possibility of the Habs having another problem in the near future which is having 2 number 1 goaltenders in Fowler & Dobes but it's a good problem to have & nothing to worry about?
Ok i have a question: I was looking for an other NHL team to have so many TH-cam channel that talk about them and covert their games… and I don’t really find. Is like most that I find is about the Habs!!! Am I wrong? Or is this a fact???
$3.5 million x 4 years is good value for Evans I also wouldn't mind giving him a 1 year deal at like $6 million, so we can see how Beck does before making a long-term decision.
Honestly the best trades the habs have made in years is trading for Laine & trading for Carrier the team has done a complete 180 turn around. I'm glad they got rid of barron and Harris
3.75/5 years is the limit i would take with Evans. If he can sign that deal I would be happy. He would be leaving dollars and term on the table taking that deal. Its up to him.
jake evans is one of the best players on the team easily would pay him 4 million a year, on the other hand slaf contract is very bad hopefully he turns it around
I understand your consternation about Slaf but lol, let the kid be making the big money before we demand he start earning it. He's still on his rookie deal this year and he is earning that at least. Let's cut the kid some slack.
You guys make me laugh. You obviously don't understand Habs management, past and present. They can't make any good decisions, take Reinbacher for example, another draft pick squandered. When they do pick winners like Hutson, and hopefully Dobes, it's pure fluke.....just luck. As for Laine? Great start but fragile asF. Strange he couldn't finish game against his old team and very strange he's the only guy who got the flu recently. I wish him the best, but he will likely end up disappointing us all. Dobes will not get as much time as he should because he's not from Quebec.
You think evans will sign for 3.5? You must be using some good mind altering substances. He could get 5.5 on the market. I would be happy to give him 4.5 for 4

If you’re ~35 and under get ready to watch the best Habs team you’ve ever seen in your life.
Are you saying that if you're over 35 hockey isn't good to watch 😮

Right on. Me too, 6 cups. @@J-Dogg-wt1hp

What a rookie class Hudson, Hieneman and now Dobes.
Yep. Especially next year too, Demidov, Beck, Dobes probably again, and I mean we could very well see Reinbacher or Mailloux. Fowler I don't think will but we will really see in the AHL if he's that true future top end starter.
is Hudson as good as Lane Hutson?
isn't it lovely:-) finally😊

@@GTAHelpDesk That entire statement is not even worth this reply, much less any other rebuttal.
A first line of Suzuki, Caufield and Demidov will be mental. We could actually have two 50 goal scorers on the same line, ala McDavid and Draisatel
Laine Hage Slavkovsky 2nd line😱
Wow, I’m super stocked!

Lean, focused and strong❣️
Demidov will sweep the Calder vote
And if hutson gets it this year.... would be awesome!!

All the good stuff developing before our eyes! We waited so long for this, now its time to get the goodiess
5 years 3 million a season for Evans with incentive bonus . That's the way 🎉🎉🎉😊
Thank you Kent Hughes
i love Evans... do NOT let him go
Yep, keep him for sure, don't be sellers, go for the play offs.
Demidov honestly I think might be better than Celebrini. Absolute miracle we got him. Not only that but we see him digging in and playing gritty too! Something you love to see.
It feels like the stars are finally starting to line up boys!!!!
Id like to see Dobes start the next game , he has more then earned it
I love your channel I look forward to watching your videos everyday
Love the optimism… and how they deliberately staying clear of the negative topics (eg demidov ice-time)
Nice video thanks for the great content!
After years of blown first rounders, we finally have a good scouting staff.
Good stuff guys. Cheers.
3? Why not 5? Even at 3.9 million he is worth it! Don’t measure only in points! He fits!
Montreal will get enforcements (Demidov, Fowler, Mailloux, Beck, Roy) in March which will propel them into the playoffs.
Yes. There's Kapanen and Hage also that can help. If not this year then next year.
Great video ❤
