This is quite a work to summarize. I never knew the Seafood King of Boston became a member of Bard. It is an illuminating introduction because it is not too professor-like but conversational. Arendt is hard to swallow in the current climate, but she is so detailed and comprehensive that it boggles the mind. Glad to see Roger is still kicking around!

i just joined yesterday! this book is so perfect right now; i like how you said that her mentions of anti-semitism are like, eskimos having so many different names for snow; theres dift backgrounds ... i had a line of poetry go thru my head as i woke up this morning, and i typed it into google, and it was from ezra pounds' pisan cantos, " If the hoar frost grip thy tent / thou wilt give thanks when night is spent" and he was anti semitic in the vein of thinking there was a jewish world conspiracy with banking amd capitalism... so i looked it up once more, and the context is that it comes from Exodus 16:14 " And with dew that lay was gone up, behold, on the face of the wilderness, there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.." so, it was manna...
that helped me to differentiate between that kind of conspiracy thinking and then the christian history of it... / it's nice to hear people valauing her text but also criticizing it in a thoughful way

the actual question, im familiar with the work............. why are we subscribing to this. the nazis are gone, very gone if we are honest. hannah's expression of reality is also mostly gone. I appreciate having respect for great minds, but repeating others works as a qualification rather than contributing; increasingly within the current perspective,,,,,"hey kids this is Nietzsche" thanks for you contribution
