      that’s probably a heck of a fun drive! I don’t think I’ll shoot that high with this car, my goal is only about 400whp

      @@HunterZ32 Mine can boost up to 700hp. I am content with the wheel spinning 530 hp. 400 hp is a safe number and is on average what some sports cars make in 2022.

    Sick build mate 👍 highly considering doing the tt swap on mine, hard to come by the motors atm in NZ tho. Was it relatively drop in swap wiring wise?

    • @HunterZ32
      @HunterZ32  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So sorry for the late response as this is an old video, but yes the original engine harness can be used exactly as it was! The only thing you can’t use is the original boost solenoids which I recommend getting rid of in exchange for a boost controller such as the Greddy Profec II

    • @HunterZ32
      @HunterZ32  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally think 300ZXs are amazing cars! Obviously I’m biased as I’ve owned my for almost 5 years now. Wonderful project cars but they take a little more time to work on than other similar cars. Mine was my first project and the original NA engine treated me very well all the way up to the time I swapped it for the twin turbo engine. That engine still runs great in another Z to this day. If you take care of them, they take care of you! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

    glad to get an update, was wondering all was going.
    ive wanted to do this swap with my na 2+0, a question i was wondering about was did it hook right up to stock transmission?

    • @HunterZ32
      @HunterZ32  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man! If you use the stock NA transmission, you’re fine but you need to use an NA clutch and Flywheel or they will not clear the bell housing. There is a clutch on CZP that’s rated for I believe 600lb/ft of torque for the NA trans that costs around $600. RB guys use it all the time. Other than that it all mounts up perfect! Also, if you use the NA clutch and flywheel you don’t have to shim the starter like you would with a TT flywheel

    • @mmitcheeman
      @mmitcheeman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HunterZ32 I have heard about the clearance for the started... Never heard of just using an na clutch and flywheel, thanks for the tips. Love seeing updates and hope you keep uploading.

    Bro tell your friend YOU DON'T SWAP STOCK 300ZX TT MOTORS unless they are completely tapped out, which this one obviously wasn't. If your going to swap it for any other type of engine you do it to a NA z32. Stock TT are increasing in value like crazy and makes zero sense to mess that up. But to each his own. As for this NA swap to TT is a great thing to do. Love it

    • @HunterZ32
      @HunterZ32  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      His car is a monster bro. He’s had plenty of them to know he didn’t want to keep the VG. It’s a one of a kind car so nothing lost in getting rid of the stock engine

  • @z32angel
    @z32angel ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why not TT a NA engine?

    • @HunterZ32
      @HunterZ32  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a great question! For my future plans with the car I wanted the proper lower compression pistons and oil squirters that the TT engine provide. Also, it was very helpful to get the engine as a whole rather than having to individually piece every component. NATT is becoming a popular option now with better standalone ECU setups but simplicity won me over on this project 😁

  • @nissanfairladyzx
    @nissanfairladyzx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    For what you spent on the OEM 370cc injectors you could have had like 740cc - 1000cc injectors. & Been one step closer to making more power.

    • @HunterZ32
      @HunterZ32  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all came down to what I wanted for power. I don’t need anything bigger and I didn’t want to socket my ECU for an eprom tune. I personally think that the 350 or so horsepower it makes now with the boost controller set to 13.5psi is the perfect amount of power. But you are 100% correct, for anyone looking for power they’re better off spending the little extra on the 555s or 740s and a SpecialtyZ or CZP tune

    • @nissanfairladyzx
      @nissanfairladyzx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HunterZ32 As long as your happy with it. I have made mistakes in the past like buying a clutch. Then making more power then the clutch is rated for down the line. It's frustrating. Lol

    Love the body. Never liked any body kit on a Z . Found that spoiled the looks. Yours seems to compliment the beauty. White piping too much contrast for me.

    • @HunterZ32

      Thanks for the kind words! Totally understand on the piping but I personally like the 90s look it gives. With regard to the front lip, I have a twin turbo bumper on the way but for now I have removed the fog lights and I have powertrix ducts I’m putting in to feed it air. The boost controller I have has an integrated boost gauge and other such monitors but for now I’m on Normal gate pressure with stock solenoids removed. Thank you again for taking your time to watch and for the kind words!
