Thank you for another excellent video for Nephropathology enthusiasts! May I also mention the contribution of Nils Alwall (1904 - 1986) Lund Sweden, who in 1944 appears to have performed the first series of renal needle biopsies, based on the experience of Iversen and Brun on liver biopsies. He was successful by using an aspiration needle, but stopped after his 13th patient died of complications, refusing to publish his results until 1952, one year after the publication of Iversen’s renal biopsy series. (Weening JJ, Jennet CJ, Virchows Arch (2012) 461:3-11, Cameron JS, Hicks J, Am J Nephrol 1997;17:347-358)
Thank you sir for the excellent video, as well as the series. Though I have performed a number of renal biopsy, didn't know the interesting history behind the procedure. I am from Bangladesh, I would appreciate if you could upload a video of renal biopsy procedure that you follow in USA, which will be helpful to us.
It’s always good to you the history!!
Interesting and very informative!
