I just got mine, and I absolutely love it. Been bashing the hell out of it, not one break !! Yet!! Knock on wood😆😆😆 . Did not know you could run the mt8 on 2s as well. Thanks for the info. 👍👍👍👊🚀🌜So far I'm thinking she's a keeper😁😁😁👋
can you run it on 3s ? Do you think team associated might get out of business? I want to buy the mt8 too
@@experiencewithmartin972 You can run it on 3s both the ESC and motor manual say so. It says 3-6s. I wouldn't run it on 2s that seems a bit weird.

Yeah I tried that before but I end up missing the ramp once. Hitting the curve at 50 mph is not cool
@@JayTeeRC yes definitely carnage but you've got this GUY! Maybe couple angled wooden blocks at the left and right. Even if you take the 7 that stuff will fit 👍💯👊 time to kick it up a notch

Yeah I wanna see the regular kaiju and this out in a video mate I bought a kaiju recently and it's holding up well its a tonne of fun, but seeing this too I want it aswell
My steering rack broke after 10 min or so. They got new assembly on the way though. Hopefully it will be a one time thing! Such a great size and fun driving truck.
I would put longer straps plus one across the long way across the battery tray so that stops happening. Good stuff. It looks more durable than the V1 Kaiju out of the box 👍. I disagree about the stock tires on 6s for the Kaiju . I've given them hell for like a year now on 6s. The only time I've torn one is when I was trying the self riding thing 😁

U can tell it’s just like a Kaiju , When I compared both kaiju and mT8 u can see a lot of same parts from kaiju on it . It’s definitely a. Fun truck to bash around play with on 2,3 , 4, even 6s with it . Redcat has a lot of parts on it.
Definitely need diff tuning. I'm doing 250 center ,75 front, 30 rear.. also Kaiju sway bars fits this as well.
This truck seems to run well even on 6S it handle good. It looks like a tough smaller 1/8 scale. I may buy one yet. Your vid’s do that to a guy Jay haha 💵

I believe it was Roadside RC who opened the diffs and found barely any oil in them at all. I think I'll address that today before I even do my first run.
Hi, just curious how can you tell you need oil in the diffs? Is it the way it drives or a sound it makes. Have a couple of Arrmas and don't want to pull the diffs apart unless needed. Thanks and I just subscribed!
In general, if you see the front wheels taking most of the power (more ballooning than the front) you need thicker oil in the center diff.

those powerhobby belted tires i see that they look to be pretty close to the stock tires but in the specs on the site it states they are 6.8in diameter can you clarify that ? thanks 6.8 would be huge for this truck i would think
Personally from what I've seen so far, I think belted tires are overkill for this rig.
A set of Backflip LPsc would be better for longevity purposes as they're way lighter than belted tires and will have less rotating mass... possibly cheaper too? I don't know the price of those PH tires.
I was actually quite surprised how light the Powerhobby Raptors were. They aren't far off from Duratrax of comparable size. After seeing JayTee's speed run I'd say belted tires on 6s are very worth it. They aren't Proline expensive but they're up there around $100 if you catch a deal.

My kraton exb does about 65 maybe 70mph on 6s. I've never run belted tires on it. The backflip LPs don't balloon like the 6s version tires. Hell, the 6s backflips don't balloon near as much as those mt8 either but I imagine those might be way too big for it wheelbase.
That little mt8 rig only does 50ish. My mt10 will do almost 50, and I don't run belted tires on it.
Put that ph tire on a scale, and see exactly how many grams heavier it is. More rotating mass is a sure way to ruin reliability. Belted tires are overkill for many rcs.
@@captaincouldverc night and day difference putting Powerhobby Defenders on my MT10. Control at speed on pavement as well as air control was a huge difference. Definitely worth it. But to each his own apparently.

If you want that mt10 to really handle better, get some hub extensions on it and widen it by about 25-30mm.

I'll also be making a follow up on it for another brand option that appears to require no modification to the stub axles like the ones I have currently. But this new set does require them to be slightly modified. I plan on doing that video Sunday, and hopefully posting it within the week. Sadly I'm new to video so I've got alot of learning.
