I played really competitively during this time. This made me feel very nostalgic.
While the lead never changed hands, the comeback factor was almost there! I'm looking forward to trying this format out sometime.
Yay! I always find the 2010 videos that be super interesting
What a shocking match. Thank you
Love some 2010 content. I think regigigas could have won if the player didnt bench the second regigigas
Yup, got too greedy haha
I get why you did it, since you could theoretically retreat Regigigas Lv. X, level up the benched Regigigas, and eke out another attack. I suppose the danger of not benching Regigigas would be if the Luxchomp player had taken a 2HKO on Regigigas Lv. X before targeting Uxie Lv. X, but benching a second potential Garchomp C Lv. X target meant committing to finding the second Regigigas Lv. X to mitigate the risks, then manually retreating if you couldn’t find a way of switching out the active one.
I sound like an expert when I say this, but I suppose I would have done a worse job playing either deck. Being able to go back and watch the video makes all the difference.
Please do more Gen 4 content!!!
They'll come up throughout the year!

I enjoyed this game thoroughly. I have recently rewatched your 2009 videos and have noticed a common theme with SP variants; they tend to take an early lead, but since they cannot OHKO even Beedrill without several damage modifiers, once a deck like Beedrill or Flygon or Regigigas sets up, that deck can very quickly close the lead by taking two or more prize cards to the SP deck's one. Even Garchomp C Lv.X, which can take KOs on things you would rather not see KOed, like Claydol, doesn't give the SP decks the raw power they need to stay two prizes ahead the entire game.
I have been weighing a request I have wanted to make for a while (2005 Zapdos/Rayquaza/Electrode versus an undetermined deck, but probably Queendom or LudiCargo if ZRE's typings and/or resistances wouldn't be a problem) against an SP-deck inspired request (2009 LuxApe versus SP Toolbox). The former is one I have been hoping to see for a while, and you have yet to feature a 2005 or 2006 battle on your channel this year, but my interest in 2009 was piqued by Ruby Retro's formats tier list (he says it's S tier, alongside Base-Fossil and 2004), and I would love the chance to see an SP deck mirror match in that format. Plus, it's time an SP deck doesn't lose by a single prize in one of your 2009 videos... you know, to restore Volkner's self esteem.
Let me know if either of these requests make it in. I value these requests a little more than seeing your last three Rocket-Legendary Collection decks in action, but since someone else has already requested a 2013 battle (they didn't mention specific decks, but I suggested Flareon versus Team Plasma), I expect I'll have to wait at least a few videos.
Hope you and your wife are doing well,
Sincerely,

Well, the year is still early so we definitely still have time for more formats to be featured. We've already got a 2006 battle lined up along with the 2013 battle that was requested. Plus, we've also got a couple of other videos in the works like another raid battle, possibly a top 10 video, and some others that I'm keeping a secret for now (since I don't know if I'll actually make them).
And as far as having our 2009 battles (or any battles, really) come down to 1 v 1 prizes is for the entertainment factor. We play multiple games on camera and choose the best battle to feature on youtube as there have definitely been times where one side completely dominates the other and those don't really make for the most exciting games - with some exceptions (Alakazam/Machamp vs Blastoise/Gyarados).
@@holon_phantom Sounds like a loaded schedule! I look forward to seeing the 2006 video and finding out what decks will be featured.
Any word on how close you are to sleeving the World Championship Decks? Or do you prefer not to disclose your progress?
It's probably going to happen during the summer. I'll have more time to devote to it as I'll be on summer break from work.
