I hope they actually gave her her innovation award- with some money. I created a test at the company I worked at that saves thousands of dollars not to mention contracts. They named the test after me and I was to get a $2,000 bonus. I also introduced paperwork that they later used to win a lawsuit with. They still use the test and the paperwork but I never received my bonus. My developmentally challenged sister lives with me. I was off work 32 weeks when she had a serious health emergency. They denied FMLA for me and later let me go. Companies only care about money. A vacation is nice and recognition is much appreciated but at the end of the day a raise and or (more) benefits is what workers need. I was a trainer for this company. I could run all 8 presses from front to back. I trained, did quality checks and gave breaks for all 8 presses, but because I wasn't producing 4200 pieces a day per quota I didn't receive raises.

It's so sad how hard-working, dedicated and passionate workers are pushed out of their place of work because of lazy, disgruntled and abusive colleagues who do the bare minimum and get off on bullying and harassing others even to the point of management and HR turning a blind eye to abuse and illegal activity, threats and intimidation. So many wonderful people could thrive and beat fruit if the thorns and thistles didn't choke them to death.
