Here in Stratford, we had clear skies for watching the eclipse although the day started out being quite cloudy. It wasn't a total eclipse here. At the point of totality, we saw a thin crescent edge of the sun. It did get fairly dark and the temperature felt like it dropped quite a bit while the sun was covered by the moon.

Wow amazing. I could have known that you would gonoutnfor the eclips. I actually think the clouds add to the images. An amazing event. Hopefully it will happen on this side of the ocean once 😂 grt guido

Hi Guido: Thanks for watching. I have been very busy and stressed out. The van needs an alternator rebuild now, as well as injectors. The injectors are leaking down and making for a long crank after a half hour. It roars to life after sitting overnight. I worry about gas in the oil. Not a problem yet but must fix it. I will have some time now to watch the internet till parts arrive and so on. A local shop says they will clean and test but not rebuild injectors. It will be an experience for sure.

@bellasvistas3463 yeah you should be carefully with leaking injectors. They can cause some extreme engine damage. I've seen burning hole's in engines caused by that. Hope you will be able to fix it for not to much money but I know these injectors can ben very expansive!

Beautiful images! I saw my first (and only) total solar eclipse 20 years ago in Stuttgart (Germany)... it was quite spectacular!

Now that you don’t have to concentrate… what exposure did you use? Did you set exposure manually or P, A or S? From the video I understood that you used a 20-stop ND filter combined with 7 stop bracketing. 3-photo brackets?
What I enjoyed most in your video: your ability to enjoy the event. Sometimes I think we won’t be able to appreciate heaven if we don’t learn to appreciate what we have now. :-)
A funny thing: I first posted this question to Guido Van Der Water by mistake. He then had to do pirouettes to answer a question that must have made little sense in the context of hi-res photos. He answered like a pro.

I used the 20 stop filter @ 200 ISO F5.6 at 1/60 second for the preliminary and post shots. For Totality I took filter off and used 200 ISOF16 1/2000 sec with 7 brackets. I had a great view through the viewfinder anyway and it was a wonderful experience. The light that we basked in during totality was amazing. Thanks very much. Guido is a very knowledgeable fellow and very helpful and friendly.

Well now... I'm 73 that's an old guy. No? Check out Driving the Dempster, we plan on doing that again this year. To the Arctic Ocean. Are the EV1s correct?
