a very delayed answer but i'm going through a backlog. There were control vaults that acted exactly as advertised, but they were far fewer than the experimental vaults. They were just there to provide a baseline for all the "experiments" and opened up after 20 or 30 years (don't remember which).
I wanted to do some evil experiments to the vault dwellers I'm kinda disappointed: no dipping people in FEV, no gigantic spore plants, no evil A.I planning to take over the world, no intelligent deathclaws, not even a crate of puppets
I have a very morally correct character so I've basically told Barstow to piss off and used the calmest version of all the experiments. I then tried to make the most legitimately cheerful happy Vault I could think of. Actually nice to the settlers and tries to benefit their life as best as possible. I even went out of my way to make the Vault look very nice and happy by using the light strings instead of Industrial lights. gave them lots of forms of entertainment and made it feel more homey than Hospital like. I know the AI doesn't use them but I also added the Nuka World arcade games. Each settler has their own bed and little customised corner based on little personalities I made for each of them. For example I found a goul with a sea captain's hat so I gave them lots of sea bass portraits and a few things from Far Harbor. Later on I met the vault-tec guy and I decided to give him the life he was denied and deserved by sending him to the vault with a specialised custom room. Feels good man.

I returned to the entrance a little later and found one guard had left their post to speak to the other, first time I ever saw that. "Do you want me to draw you a picture?" "No thanks, I've seen your drawings." Talk about burn!

I think if you'd just chosen a standard dialogue option without influencing the Settler, the Overseer might've given different results.

Yeah, that's why she had the same dialogue. If OX would have chosen the other options the Settler would get angry at the experiments and leave the Vault. The Overseer would have been happy with that outcome
I like seeing the overseer leave after you were being so nice to the residents, she overloads and leaves because she can't stand happiness (agh! The happiness... IT BURNS!!!!!)
First time I did the bike experiment I had Clem ride the bike on the 2nd floor of a half built atrium with no walls. When it exploded he we flying all the way across that big main area until he slammed into a wall. Pretty sure he's immortal.

It's not really that hard to be moral in fallout 4. You can barely do anything evil in this. In fallout 1 you could help mutants kill innocent people in a vault. In fallout 2 you could be a mob hitman and be a slaver. In fallout 3 you can help the enclave do bad things and also enslave people. In fallout new vegas you can sell a companion to cannibals and destroy a town with gang members. In fallout 4? You can help Wolfgang kill an old lady and her son. That's pretty much the extent of what evilness you could do.
Yeah, I build the bike next to the entrance, where the overseer first sits down, and I just connected it with a regular generator and a regular terminal.

I also wanted to become overseer and make vault 88 the one vault who's purpose is to provide comfortable living where people can live free of fear. Except for the guy in the cement. We have to live with that forever.
God this character you're using has the creepiest plastic fake smile. Also, the dialogue she gives later on is affected by the sum of your choices leading up to there, not just the choice you just recently made. So she's pissed if you go the gentle route with all of them, says she's mixed if you go a little from both good and bad, and she's cackling mad with glee if you choose 100% evil prototypes.

As other people said you didn't really get all the results. You should have had 4 separate play throughs for this. One with all evil, one with all neutral, one with all good, and one that mixed it up between the 3. Also, the one that you got the same dialogue after every experiment was likely because you passed the settler speech check.

But there was something special: first I faced the bicycle to the generator, that is Clem was looking to the power source. Clem did not ride the bike. After turning the bike like you did, Clem was cooperative. "There is no description [on slot machine]" at 16:35. Just read the text from entry "Notes from overseer".
For the eye experiment, you got the same end dialogue because you chose the speech check option every time. Otherwise the settler will storm off urging Clem to come with her, to which he declines.
As one of the comments said, the overseer has a different reaction and likes it more if you let the lady leave the vault. I didn't really know that I had different parameter choices and I just accepted default. She prefers default settings. But no matter what she left my vault to explore. I didn't get an option (or I missed it, to get her to stay.) but I wanna know where she goes when she leaves.
Lol when I did the experiment on Clem, I went off to explore more of the vault and then i heard an explosion off in the distance. Thought the worst and was thinking I had to rebuild. Was relieved all I had to fix was just the generator lol

Things must have changed since you made this video. I just started playing Fallout 4 in late 2019 and I've always used the standard terminal. I didn't know you could use the management terminal.
Maybe someone will be interested. If you set up Clem's experiments near the overseers desk (using generators or running wires) you'll get banter between them as Clem performs his experiments vs him just talking to himself. Oh an btw I don't know if this was a bug in my game or what but I used a normal terminal (the retro looking one) I just loaded up a save game to verify that. Didn't even know there was a DLC specific terminal until seeing this video. Great video btw I just found your channel, definitely subscribed!
In my mind, this is the perfect home settlement for you if you choose The Institute. Mainly cause it’s where it all started & The Institute’s underground & so is the Vault.

On the subject of eye drops, one of the instruments we use at the lab has this horribly toxic decontamination fluid that we flush through its system once every month to make sure nothing is growing inside the tubes. This stuff has fumes that smell similar to formic acid, and I usually feel sick if I stay in the room for the period it's running the cleanse. After reading the ingredients on the bottle I found out that the top listed ingredient is a compound that has also been used in eye drops, that has pretty much the issues that Vault-tec reported with their formula. So yeah, even at a ridiculously dilute concentration it makes the cornea more permeable, allowing whatever drug you've got in your eye drops to act on the deeper layers of the eye, but if the dosage is too high, it can cause permanent damage. At the concentrations in the cleaning fluid, it makes my eyes hurt just from the fumes. And after reading that I've started using double eye protection when handling it, since it could probably liquefy my eyeballs if I accidentally got some on me =p
The vault monitoring option is a reference to ghost in the shell tv series, where an entire unit were under surveillance without their knowledge using a similar device and was installed during an "eye checkup"
In the 4th experiment the 4th option [The overseer’s notes] tells you what each option does because the entire experiment at the end is of Barstow’s design.
I went best route and placed the experiments in my regular settlements. slots, soda fountain and weight bench are a big hit. guards will leave their stations to get a soda and gamble
I was surprised when you said that regular terminals don't work with this. You must have encountered a glitch or something, because they worked for me in my playthrough.
The first time I got this DLC I did it. Including all of her stupid experiments. From then on every game she dies. I never even speak to her. I just have to figure out how to get the vault building menu in the outside.
normal terminal does work. you can use a wall mounted vault power outlet (new in connectors). The big reactor you hook up to powers all the connected vault tec sections so you don't need to go specifically in that room. you can use the connected sections in the room you find in the room you meet the overseer.
+Oliver Parker no... Just like conduits they must be close enough to power objects, but the main purpose is to remove all the ugly wires!!! And you would live in a dark hole regardless unless you have a texture mod that fixes how awfully the lights work.
I love watching that Vault Tec purist lose her cool at all the good experiments. I'm glad the game gave us a chance to give the middle finger to The Vault Tec Corporation.
Me too. I did all the good experiments and when I chose the "good ridance" dialouge, she was shocked and didn't know what to say and when she tried she just stuttered and walked away. Definitely my favorite part out of the whole dlc.
THe dialogue changed depending on the chain. So if you consistently choose the absolute morally worst option for each one in succession then you get an entirely different outcome at the end instead of the neutral ending you kept getting there. (meaning the ones that could potentially kill and/or strip them of their humanity.

i shot the overseer after we interviewed the dwellers, i got a trophy for becoming overseer and all the stuff she had, but i may have messed up the rest of the addons, like vault building parts, any way to finish getting those building items or am i stuck with just the bike, vending machine, slot machine and eye thing ?
You can view the results of the tests you do on the terminal / overseers station (whatever it’s called) and see extra information on the tests there and whether they were a success, failure, partial success, or undetermined.

It’s so interesting to see such an old video. Oxhorn has definitely improved his content overtime. This was still very fun to watch though!

Maybe someone will be interested. If you set up Clem's experiments near the overseers desk (using generators or running wires) you'll get banter between them as Clem performs his experiments vs him just talking to himself.
Oh an btw I don't know if this was a bug in my game or what but I used a normal terminal (the retro looking one) I just loaded up a save game to verify that. Didn't even know there was a DLC specific terminal until seeing this video.

On the subject of eye drops, one of the instruments we use at the lab has this horribly toxic decontamination fluid that we flush through its system once every month to make sure nothing is growing inside the tubes. This stuff has fumes that smell similar to formic acid, and I usually feel sick if I stay in the room for the period it's running the cleanse.
After reading the ingredients on the bottle I found out that the top listed ingredient is a compound that has also been used in eye drops, that has pretty much the issues that Vault-tec reported with their formula.
So yeah, even at a ridiculously dilute concentration it makes the cornea more permeable, allowing whatever drug you've got in your eye drops to act on the deeper layers of the eye, but if the dosage is too high, it can cause permanent damage.
At the concentrations in the cleaning fluid, it makes my eyes hurt just from the fumes. And after reading that I've started using double eye protection when handling it, since it could probably liquefy my eyeballs if I accidentally got some on me =p

The vault monitoring option is a reference to ghost in the shell tv series, where an entire unit were under surveillance without their knowledge using a similar device and was installed during an "eye checkup"

If you keep the overseer in vault 88, you don't get the Vault stuff in the settlement creator. I've tested it.
In the 4th experiment the 4th option [The overseer’s notes] tells you what each option does because the entire experiment at the end is of Barstow’s design.

I went best route and placed the experiments in my regular settlements. slots, soda fountain and weight bench are a big hit. guards will leave their stations to get a soda and gamble

I was surprised when you said that regular terminals don't work with this. You must have encountered a glitch or something, because they worked for me in my playthrough.
The first time I got this DLC I did it. Including all of her stupid experiments. From then on every game she dies. I never even speak to her. I just have to figure out how to get the vault building menu in the outside.

normal terminal does work. you can use a wall mounted vault power outlet (new in connectors). The big reactor you hook up to powers all the connected vault tec sections so you don't need to go specifically in that room. you can use the connected sections in the room you find in the room you meet the overseer.
Wow I literally just saved my game after placing ugly conduits through my whole vault.......... SO MUCH WORK FOR NOTHING. Thanks for the tip though
+Oliver Parker no... Just like conduits they must be close enough to power objects, but the main purpose is to remove all the ugly wires!!! And you would live in a dark hole regardless unless you have a texture mod that fixes how awfully the lights work.

Me too. I did all the good experiments and when I chose the "good ridance" dialouge, she was shocked and didn't know what to say and when she tried she just stuttered and walked away. Definitely my favorite part out of the whole dlc.

THe dialogue changed depending on the chain. So if you consistently choose the absolute morally worst option for each one in succession then you get an entirely different outcome at the end instead of the neutral ending you kept getting there. (meaning the ones that could potentially kill and/or strip them of their humanity.
Hey Oxhorn, just wanted to let you and anybody reading this know that you actually can use normal terminals on the experiments. (the new ones are way cooler though)
i shot the overseer after we interviewed the dwellers, i got a trophy for becoming overseer and all the stuff she had, but i may have messed up the rest of the addons, like vault building parts, any way to finish getting those building items or am i stuck with just the bike, vending machine, slot machine and eye thing ?
This DLC felt underwhelming after all the hype. Great vid though.😊

You can view the results of the tests you do on the terminal / overseers station (whatever it’s called) and see extra information on the tests there and whether they were a success, failure, partial success, or undetermined.
Didn't they say you unlock new things based on the choices you make? Those 4 is all there is? Disappointing
