Has like a super tight aliasing sound. Sounds. Pretty sweet, you cant notice any stair stepping. Almost has like a formant character or something cant put my finger on it. Digital crunch for sure though. ❤
Yes it did surprise me that I didn't notice much of a stepping effect, if any. The formant character comes from the narrowness of the filters I guess, they are supposed to be 48db iirc.
Love these videos Cylob! Are you doing anything special for clock sync from your computer, so you can multitrack recorded parts? How are you going about recording passes of audio which are in time with your recorded audio?
I start recording just before the track begins in the arrangement, then try to press play on time. Afterwards I shift the recording around until it lines up with the other tracks.
I guess you have done the same thing with a bank of BPFs in SC... how did it compare? have you recreated any of your speech synth in modular? (I am a modular skeptic, but people who are really into it aswell as being adept with SC or MSP or something, make me wonder what I'm missing.)
No, not yet. I did add the option to send CV from my speech sequencer, and the sound from the modular was really special, but I think at some point I broke it somehow and I never bothered fixing it. I only made one brief recording of it as well. Thanks for reminding me, I should get it up and running again! For me it's about the sound.
Those timbres are so good… thanks for sharing!

@@cylobsonicresearch whoa that's crazy how well they can emulate it. It's almost like inverse additive synthesis or something.
