I think her and Otis Redding had that style where they were able to play with how they perform the lyrics and it would really reveal their soul and convey what they're going through at the moment because they don't stick to the tried and true version on the album. They would just run-on with it like my last sentence, goddamn!

One of my favorite Janis performances is a duet she did called 'Ego Rock' with Nick Gravenites of the group Electric Flag. It's amazing and funny too, unless you're from Texas.

    More love for the ladies!!!
You need to check out anything from the late and amazing Sharon Jones with The Dap Kings. Soul soul soul!!⁸ I was lucky enough to see her live once in 2010 or 11 and it was the greatest musical performance I've ever experienced. Nonstop energy from beginning to end.
Definitely in the Tina Aretha Janis department.

One of my personal idols as a teen way back then. She was cool in every way. And man that woman could sing like no other. Miss the very beautiful Janis Joplin. Her performance s on the Dick Cavett show were pretty great. You are thinking of the BeeGees song. Suggestion? The whole Got those old Kozmic Blues album.

you just know her songs were different every time she sang them, and they were all excellent!! this is a cover of to love somebody originally by the Bee Gees. They wrote it and put it out on their debut album in 1967. Janis did her cover in 1969.
