Thanks for the video. One question, how do you pick stroke length? If I am trying to get near stock ride height would I just measure the original spring height? Or do I measure the suspension maxed out say on a lift with axles dropped? Looking to put air ride under my 78 F250 which has more of a high boy look. As far as weight capacity goes, does a higher capacity air bag ride worse/better? I dont plan to tow but may want to to pick up a car on a trailer. Thanks!
Tin man. I know this video is 5years old but. What are your thoughts on Airmaxx bags and equipment for a first build?? Love the videos. And I love going back to the archives!

Great informative video, Question hope you can guide me in the right direction... Which bags would you suggest I get for a 1965 Impala Station wagon ? Thank you very much
What size would you guess recommend for a 1998 Chevy Silverado 3500 dually front bags link would be appreciated as well as cups or whatever brackets to bolt up
Great video thanks. I need help with a small diameter bag and can't find anything. I'm doing a golf cart so they don't need to be super strong. Can you help in any way?
I like your channel and subscribed today. I installed some slam 6s today but in full droop it looks like the bag is coming apart at the top. Is there anyway I can send you a picture of the bag and you tell me if it is normal?
Some of these airlift kits come with thick brackets. For example the ones for the 2018 accord in the rear. Could they be trimmed a little to lay a little harder?
Sprung my truck when I rebuilt all the suspension. Like to bag it at some point... laying frame looks so good ! We get tons of rain though and seeing as this is my daily I wonder if it might be more headache that its worth. The loss of the inner fenders alone makes me shudder thinking of all that water flying wherever it likes.
I have a two inch hole at the top where the bolt goes with nothing to bolt to. Is there a gusset or metal piece with a hole that I can use to make the upper cup hold tight to the shock tower?
Great video first of all. I'm bagging a 64 cadillac and am using dominator 2600 bags, 3 out of 4 of them leaked and after getting warranted replacements one of those leak also. So I am thinking about trying the slam 7. Was curious about ride quality between the 2 and is the stroke comparable. Dont want to sacrifice ride height. Thanks
They are virtually identical in specs. Ive installed probably close to 100 airlift bags and never once had one leak. So I would actually recommend changing your fitting and/or line. You're spending unnecessary money and time replacing the bag
I was just doing some air bag maintenance on my toyota pickup today, i got ss RE6 in the front(not a lot of room in the front of mini trucks for bags and the slams dont balloon) and airlift 2600 in the rear, its bag on axle so the ride isnt the best but i might add lift bars one day or just redo the setup, I mean i have ridden in both and yes bag on bar is noticeably better but its still better than leaf springs i think.
EvanThaG oh yeah there is a ton more to discuss with bag stuff. This was just a quickie lol if setup proper a bag over axle can be very nice. Mr Tinman, I've watched this video several times. One question I have, does the tall cup go on the top and work better with the bag lower to the lower control arm for a specific reason?
There are many great options for load support/towing. I would recommend you reach out to air lift. They are the company I use for load support bags on all of my trucks.
Question, what fittings do you use for the dominator i bought 1/2 npt and they only go in half way and stick out to high as a matter of fact they even stick out on my tank, are they supposed to go flush?
No they do not go flush. It's a tapered thread, so the deepness depends on the taper off the fittings and the bags. Pipe tape and go until it's tight with a wrench.
Great informative video! I have bags on my 2007 Chrysler 300C 5.7L V8! The rear bags which are similar to those in your video seem to roll over on themselves quite noticeably! Needs more air volume. But will give you a softer ride with less pressure. There really are no negative consequences of fitting an oversized bag. Sort of like asking if more cushion in a car accident is a bad thing lol always better to have more/bigger if you can.
Hey bud I had a question. I'm currently replacing my old 7" Slam bags and was considering switching to the Dominator bags. Problem is my truck is in storage a few hundred miles away, so I do not have the ability to get to it to measure first hand. The slams being "non-balooning", will the Dominators fit without rubbing in an application that was meant for the slam bags, or do they balloon out a lot???
I've never seen an application where the dominators won't work in place of the slams. Could be possible thoreticsllt, but the ballooning is minimal with the dominators.
Good vid bro. But my question is which bag is good for a 64 impala. And if you wanted to get the vehicle to stand tall on all 4’s ( where you can see the rear axle and all) what would be a good bag.
Airlift or slam specialties. And dual viair 480's to the 8 gallon tank and dual viair 485C's to the 12 gallon tank...
You can use standard Teflon pipe tape, or I prefer to use a liquid sealer with Teflon, like ARP's thread sealer or something you can get at a hardware store. But not the loctite brand stuff. You want something that has Teflon in it.
Getting ready to bag my 67 C10 which has a 85 front end under it. Was thinking Firestone 2500 in the front and Firestone 2600 in the back just for clearance. Or do you think the 2600's will be okay in the front?

So my 63 impala is really bouncy in the front , he sent me firestone air bags and monroe shocks.. air lift bags rear. Should I get the ss7 bags for the front and maybe better shocks?
Yes better shocks
@@Tinman2Kustoms so the ss7 bags wouldn't necessarily be less bouncy/ floaty than the firestone?
@@PeachCoastLowrider most likely not enough to make a noticable difference. Shocks are the bounce controllers
