    The Orbit Culture lads are huge Gojira fans and often talk about it!! So happy to hear you finally talk about them :D
    I would honestly love a full video from Mark on adding true tone to false cord screams. I've been struggling with it for so long!
    Mark, if you're reading this, give it a thought man!

    First time I heard Orbit Culture was "Open Eye".

    I'm pretty sure that Niklas (the vocalist, among other roles) is self-taught at least in regards to his harsh vocals. But yeah, Niklas is a big fan of Gojira and especially Metallica, so you can hear those influences in his own vocals. It's especially very easy to hear the James Hetfield sound in Niklas' singing. While on that topic, Orbit Culture has also covered Metallica's song, "Hardwired;" it's an awesome cover, and I think they made it sound better than the original. I think I remember reading that Orbit Cultures someday wants to put out a Metallica tribute album, and I'm sure that will be quite amazing!
    One more thing: as far as I know you haven't talked about any song from Wintersun, and I hope you'll one day consider doing a video on one of their songs. A reaction and analysis of "Sons of Winter and Stars" or "Time" would be great, although they're both long songs, so perhaps they're a little too long to feature on the channel. But hey, perhaps enough people would be interested in seeing your analysis that the length wouldn't be any problem.

    They are going in tour with Imminence and In Flames. Please react to Eddie Berg from Immnence (also Swedish) in Infectious, Lighthouse, Temptation, Ghost or whatever melody you choose. You will be thrilled!!

  • @ForTiorIJohnny

    dude, the melody in the last part was totally from Interstellar. not a bad thing. i like musical references like that put into a different context. great song.

  • @Imurai
    @Imurai 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    This is my song. It resonates with me so much and I already have a plan for a tattoo with their logo and the quote "I will live once I am free". Niklas Karlsson, the vocalist/guitarist/songwriter/producer/face of the band is a musical genius IMO and he is so very much aware of frequencies. Like you said, he uses a ton of samples (that rising one is dubbed "the kettle" by fans).
    As a recommendation, I'd say you need to hear Flight of the Fireflies from last year's EP Shaman, maybe just off camera. Like this is about depression, that one's about becoming alcoholic during the pandemic, which also hits close to home for me. It's just as good as this with a killer breakdown.

    So, I have a question. I can sing, people around me in my life would agree that I can control my voice well enough to be enjoyable to listen to. I want, more than anything, to be able to perform harsh vocals. More specifically, tunnels. I love that sound. My guilty pleasure is deathcore. I've watched tons of your videos and other "coach" videos on TH-cam and I just can't figure it out. I can't take my vocal folds out of the equation. So my question, have you encountered people that just can't do it, or is everyone teachable?
