  • @divahc1
    @divahc1 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Peter, are you familiar with packing cubes? They make packing so much easier. You can also use large ziplock bags, too. In each bag, pack a complete outfit. That way, their bags stay tidy. It's quick and easy for the kids to find their outfits, too. Have you considered packing their bags, and the car, the day/night before you travel? That way, you can get a quick, fresh start to the day. Also, have you seen the hanging activity pockets that hang on the back of seats? The kids can each pack the pockets in front of them with snacks, books, games, wipes, tissues etc. It keeps it all in one place, and your car stays tidy. If you visit a large discount auto store, you'll find all sorts of things that are useful for organizing your car and making your trip just a bit more comfortable. You may like the handbag pockets, too, that hang between the front seats. (I know you carry a small bag.)

    Swimming lessons for the kids at your local YMCA. Peter you need swimming lessons too. lol

    • @divahc1
      @divahc1 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      100%. Being able to swim is so IMPORTANT! If the kid's can't swim, please, have them wear some sort of floatation aide-no matter how old the kids are. Peter, please, learn to swim. It can be scary at first, but no scarier than having a kid in trouble in the water and not being able to help them. My mum learned to swim at age 49. I lived in Old, and mum came to visit from NSW . I went to swim training 3 x a week and didn't want to miss my sessions. My coach taught swimming before our training sessions. She didn't evenown swim wear. I took her shopping right from the airport. Years later, she told me that as we were driving to the pool, she thought she'd be physically sick. After that holiday, she joined an adult swim club and went to swininmany carnivals for many years. It's never too late to learn.

    • @nancyfarkas3592
      @nancyfarkas3592 ปีที่แล้ว

      Flotation aides are not foolproof. Knowing how to swim is great but no guarantee you can’t drown still. And he is just a foster parent so there may be limits to what and where he can take them so swim lessons may not be something he can do with them.

Mmmnnnn - a visit with him may be on the cards?😅 I can’t believe how you fit in the car all the ‘stuff’ that’s needed with so many children. And of course having a toddler still in nappies (diapers to you) must make it ten times harder. Hats off to you Peter, the children will have a ball thanks to your planning.👏👌🥰🚗

    I loved the guy who told him not to judge all Americans by the lobster on top of the car! He forget to add that if you see anything strange in Florida, blame it on "Florida man"! If you know, you know. He's lucky that he has his teenage son to help out on the trip, especially when doing things like being in the pool with kids who don't know how to swim. I'm a divorced mother of three. I used to have 2 hanging on me in the pool and the other just old enough not to, and so rule number one is stay in the shallow end! Lol The vacation is never relaxing for the parents, especially if there is only one parent, but the experience is important for the children. Although I'm not sure if my kids' experience of being tired, cranky, and crying on a 6 hour drive home from one of our trips was what I exactly mean by that! Lol

      How do you know they was in the crates for 24 hours? Obviously someone would need to feed them and let them out for the toilet so it was probably only an hour or so before that person turned up

      They are in the cage ready to be picked up by a friend. Peter adores his dogs, he would never leave them by themselves for several days while they are vacationing in Florida. If you watch the video, when they left, he shouted "goodbye Anna".
