I had a little one show up at 3am in pajama pants and socks!!!...holding a sand hourglass timer from maybe a game or something...they told me I would need to get him back to school by Monday ...it was Sat mind you...I was thinking I would habe to take him someplace close to home to get clothes bcuz he had no shoes! I thought to myself...I've gotta widen my network...I told my neighbor...who had already seen the arrival in the wee hours of the morning...she went and bought him a pair of shoes and tshirts...socks .. underwear and a suit of clothing!!! I am forever grateful for the help of my neighbors...❤❤❤

To me something should be done so that kids in foster care aren’t shuffled from family to family. Coming from experience it causes more trauma cause you eventually don’t want to be close to anyone 😢
As a former foster child moving from home to home, most of the time adults didn't explain I would be moving again. They would pack my things in trash bags, keep what they wanted like my dolls, and then I was faced with strangers in a car for hours sometimes not knowing where I was going or who would be on the other side. Unfortunately, there is no real say where kids are going and to whom because kids don't speak up and adults pretend to be good people. This is why many kids bounce from home to home -- I know I learned if I was "bad" or cried over everything I could move, but I never felt safe enough to confess to caseworkers or schools my forest parents were not good people. After all.... Why would I when from my perspective I was dragged from my home, split into separate home from my brothers, and had to endure whatever adults told me seeing as many threatened that "this is my last home unless I want to go to jail." I will say... I'm glad I was in foster care. It taught me to be extremely brave and keep moving forward for myself. My biological family (aside from my brothers who also went through foster care) aren't good people, and despite all the different homes I bounced around to, I grew up to be someone I'm happy to be.
Yes but in many cases it's better, it was not for all but mostly it is , my adopted parents were foster parents before they adopted , we saw so much , she fostered me first

@@sunset4408many African countries have over 5 different languages and a language barrier between people from the same country can exist. Most grownups will be multilingual in Africa, but kids might not yet be fluent in more than 1 or 2 languages.
Love what you do. I was a social worker in the system and I never saw a foster parent give so much thought and care to children. Taking a break is very important for foster parents so that you do not get burned out!! Take care of yourself.
When you gave the little boy the toys and he said he been wanting one since he was with his momma touched my heart deep.. Lord touch and blessed these kids help them grow and know that you care and love them so so much.

I remember when my family came to Canada from Zambia via my birthplace in South Africa. I was thirteen and even though I could speak the Queen's English the Canadians started to tease me about my accent and the clothes I was wearing as my parents did not have time to order clothes and all I had were shorts and tee-shirts. It took me a long time to get over that type of abuse, so I am happy that you are there for these two children.

It is very tricky. I immigrated at 11 from another country to US and didn't speak English. I think middle school 11-14yr old is the hardest time to immigrate as there is a lot of bullying dor anyone that looks different, speaks different etc. It was a tough time for me as well so I can relate to you.
When I was in my early twenties I worked at an emergency shelter as a house parent- kids are so resilient and ready for love. One of the most meaningful experiences of my life
I love watching you interact with the children. Your voice is so comforting and welcoming to the children. You set such a good example of what a foster parent should be like. You can’t always “fix” their lives but you have given them good memories to hold on to.

Don't know who could do that, but he ended up where he was supposed to. No DNA to find out his blood family, or knowing Anthony, he doesn't want to know.
You are an amazing person. My two oldest daughters were taken from me when they were 6 months and 2. They were in only a couple homes the last one they were in was amazing. My girls were their first foster children. We remained friends with them untill we left the state. It's so nice to see other amazing foster families

But had you not said goodbye to them you would not have had room for the two children from Africa. I would have to say that it was a blessing in disguise for all parties involved. The other two got to be with their siblings, and you had room to bring in two kids from your native country. How blessed you all are!

Thank you for all you do for these children, past, present and future. It takes special people to take this challenge in. I had 57 foster brothers and sisters throughout my high school years, (at times there were 13 kids) and I would like to think that my family made a difference in the lives of all of them. Thank you, again, it is a greatly needed service.

I have a smile on my face as I watched Skyler and her new sister play together and as I watched Ryder play with his new brother and watching your excitement about the children and them being from your country. I absolutely LOVE you & every single thing that you’re doing for our kids that are vulnerable! Personally speaking I come from an extremely abusive family myself & after running away many times was finally removed and placed in foster care! My story wasn’t like yours in that I never found the kindness in strangers or a safe place as a child however like you I had resilience and a deep understanding that the way I was living was wrong! I also vowed that my family could be what I made it & spent years building it (& having babies of my own), with the belief that my babies would never have to suffer through any of those trauma and I would find a way to help others like myself! The system was an absolute nightmare for me & well into my adulthood years when I started having children of my own! Our system is broken but not so broken that people like you in the world can’t continue to improve on it! Keep up your good work! I’ve got your family in my thoughts and prayers always! Congratulations on your newest adoptions btw (I’m hoping and praying that you get to adopt the toddler as well because I truly believe that you belong together!)! You bring me so much joy and in some ways a bit of healing as well! I hope that you realize what a blessing of a human being you are & that as much as you love and appreciate those kids they deserve you just as much! I can appreciate the empathy that you give to the bio parents & in some ways totally agree (because we can’t know what their personal struggles were for their lives either), but I’ve seen parents get away with literal murder, torture or violation that should never ever happen to kids & was someone who lived through all of that trauma myself! You’ve made a choice to not be your father & to continue giving back, I made that same choice and know that it’s possible to do so no matter where you come from. So I guess it’s been a bit harder for me to be as graceful and forgiving. I’m working on that!

Thank you for all you do for these children, past, present and future. It takes special people to take this challenge in. I had 57 foster brothers and sisters throughout my high school years, (at times there were 13 kids) and I would like to think that my family made a difference in the lives of all of them. Thank you, again, it is a greatly needed service.

Ohhh. I loved watching this video. Skyler has a sister near her age to play with. It was so beautiful to see Skyler and Ryder so excited to meet their new siblings. I have a smile on my face as I watched Skyler and her new sister play together and as I watched Ryder play with his new brother and watching your excitement about the children and them being from your country. I loved watching this video from beginning to end. Sykler welcome and is happy and excited about her new sister because she loves and adore her Dad that is from Africa. I found myself smiling as I write this post. Keep up the good work Peter you do an amazing job with every child that comes to live with you. I am proud of you and appreciate you greatly for all you do.

I absolutely LOVE you & every single thing that you’re doing for our kids that are vulnerable! Personally speaking I come from an extremely abusive family myself & after running away many times was finally removed and placed in foster care! My story wasn’t like yours in that I never found the kindness in strangers or a safe place as a child however like you I had resilience and a deep understanding that the way I was living was wrong! I also vowed that my family could be what I made it & spent years building it (& having babies of my own), with the belief that my babies would never have to suffer through any of those trauma and I would find a way to help others like myself! The system was an absolute nightmare for me & well into my adulthood years when I started having children of my own! Our system is broken but not so broken that people like you in the world can’t continue to improve on it! Keep up your good work! I’ve got your family in my thoughts and prayers always! Congratulations on your newest adoptions btw (I’m hoping and praying that you get to adopt the toddler as well because I truly believe that you belong together!)! You bring me so much joy and in some ways a bit of healing as well! I hope that you realize what a blessing of a human being you are & that as much as you love and appreciate those kids they deserve you just as much! I can appreciate the empathy that you give to the bio parents & in some ways totally agree (because we can’t know what their personal struggles were for their lives either), but I’ve seen parents get away with literal murder, torture or violation that should never ever happen to kids & was someone who lived through all of that trauma myself! You’ve made a choice to not be your father & to continue giving back, I made that same choice and know that it’s possible to do so no matter where you come from. So I guess it’s been a bit harder for me to be as graceful and forgiving. I’m working on that!
You are one of the most wonderful human beings, I have ever seen! You and I have the same feelings about children, that they are all just children! I love you, already!
