I was 15 also, loved this show!!!! Thank you so much @Admission and 15 Adventures for bringing back all the nostalgia, these were the best!!! 🥰 Btw, Lee Majors is so fine!!! 😁💞
Wow 😳 what a grueling tug of war & all about stamina endurance with incredible athletes for being in Hollywood even though Mark Harmon was a QB for UCLA
sorry, brother, not trying to mislead you at all , i bought these off eBay years ago, and because honestly they were some of my favorite TV shows from the times i wanted to share it and save people from buying them and of course bring back good memories, believe me i would love it if ABC remastered the whole series
I would like to see the Network stars competition on TV so I can see it on the big 55 inch screen. If they can't get the new stars to participate bring back the reruns
I think there was an unwritten rule about not being allowed to compete in anything you've actually done as an athlete... there was a similar show to this called "SuperStars" where pro-athletes competed in various athletic challenges ... and Greg Louganis qualified because he is technically a professional DIVER and not a competitive swimmer (he *still* wiped the competition)
I was 15 in 1981 and I remember watching this on ABC in 1981.😊
I was 12 lol I lived for this show every 6 months or so

PERNELL ROBERTS:
8:46 and 10:02 Kayak Relay
12:35 Swimming Relay
28:26 and 36:34 Dunk Tank
46:04 Bike Relay
51:00 and 51:57 Running Relay
@ 21:50. Howard says "Melissa Gilbert shows her DEVELOPING fears." LOL
Gabe Kaplan surprised us all with how good an athlete he is. Probably was a good basketball player too.
The only captain to help two networks to victory
@ 4:35 - “Maude Adams with that superb facial bone construction"
What a turn of phrase by Cosell.
Ducky: My lord Jethro.. Where did that speed come from?
This Tug of War was the longest in TBoNS, and certainly the most intense. ABC just didn't have the muscle in rhe front.
12 minutes 53 seconds incredible -
Awesome TOW

I absolutely lived for these shows and Scott Baio lol my reason for puberty lol
😆
7:00 Gabe with the definition of an inauspicious start
Too Bad They Don't Have Stuff Like This Anymore
That Tug O War was a long struggle alright 😌
ABC always had the advantage when Scott Baio was on their team. He was very athletic. Looked good in a speedo too 😅
Not quite complete… it seems they cut out the introduction of the members of each team.

we use the TH-cam tv app to watch it on tv . If you have a smart tv , it should be good to watch on your tv
Kaplan made me laugh with the kayak . What happened to him ?
wait, Gabe Kaplan played for NBC?
Gabe Kaplan was in a short lived show called Lewis and Clark for NBC .
Surprisingly he was Team Captain as well.
Poor Randi
Always getting dunked. She and Gonzo still married to this day
@ 6:52 - Another epic Cosell turn-of-phrase:
“As for Gabe Kaplan, the struggle now is for survival.”
He was the best ,
32:34--"This water...is cold..." >ROO-gah!< "OH NOOO! YAAH!!!" >kersploosh!
Good stuff!
thanks
Back when Hollywood was fun.
Exactly 💯
Donna Dixon was wonderfull ❤❤❤
Im surprised that mark Harmon is qbing nbc because of qb at UCLA
Not qbing

I wonder if someone completed for all three networks
They should bring this back someway, somehow.
They were back on about 4-5 years ago
These days, most of the comments by the Commentators would be frowned upon. Its interesting to watch in 2024. Different times
The best days of America.
not Lamas' best day.
But nice on the eyes
Battle of the Network T & A
Poor Gabe
