Just got back from New Orleans. Visited Latitude 29. The best drink I tried there was the "Latitude 29" described this way on the menu: "Eight-year Demerara rum, passion fruit purée, our own Madagascar vanilla syrup, orange, pineapple and lemon." Would love to see you attempt this one!

I've had the pleasure of visiting Latitude 29 twice, and even got to meet the Beachbum!
Fantastic place, and definitely a favorite. I haven't tried the banshee at unfortunately.
The Deep Six is probably my favorite drink on the menu so far.

Made this tonight with the banana frozen. Delicious. Thanks for the recipe

There’s a Banshee recipe in the new Tropical Standard book that’s probably not related. It does feature banana and chocolate flavors.

Frozen banana is a secret weapon. Gives you a great texture over straight pebble ice. (Try it in your next protein shake).

100%. That's also another crutch for weak blenders. Just use frozen fruit instead of ice.

Went to Latitude 29 (and stayed at the hotel above) in 2018, can't remember what we ordered, it was that kinda night!! But it is definitely bucket list worthy, and a perfect mellow spot to start a night out or wind one down. We did both. Ha!

Ooh instead of the simple syrup you should try the crazy banana liquer concoction from Tropical Standard! Basically double down on that banana.

I've been wanting to make that!

I think using a frozen banana would also help emulsify

That sounds super tasty, think just a Banana liqueur would work instead of fresh banana?

I don't think so. Would still taste good, but the real banana ads a unique texture.

Derek! I know you made this 10 months ago, but I hope you see this comment. I can’t find Coruba anywhere in Sacramento. Are there any spots in the Bay that have it? Let me know! Thanks
