    Wow, great video!!! 3 years from seed, that's incredible. You also made a comment that the winter or cold season helps them grow.
    It made me think of people & how we all go through our "winters," and if we think we're going backward because nothing is happening "above the surface," we're actually still growing. And some people take longer than others to flower. Clarissa Pi kola talks about that in "the Late Bloomer." Amazing how you broke this all down into steps!

    Thank you so much for your video!! I've learned a lot! I tried the baggy and wet napkin, but I placed it in a paper bag. It took almost 3 months to germinate. Then I planted them. I don't have a "green thumb" at all! I was and still probably will dig up a seed to see if I killed it off or "hoping" they are doing well still. I didn't know about the rest nor did I know it took so long for the little buggers to grow up.
    The only reason I am trying so hard is that my boyfriend and I are taking care of his 95 year old father. My boyfriend's daughter lost her grandmother years ago and always comes here to pick peonies to put on her grave. The property will be in question when her grandfather passes. So I had the idea to gather seeds from the peonies and save some seeds while also growing a few to give to her on her birthday so that she can have some on her grandmother's peonies on her own property whether her grandfather's property is sold off or stays in the family. So I'll put some more seeds in a baggy and leave in the light while preforming the rest of your directions. Thank you for your video and time!!

    Hi, thank you for your video. I am just wondering if by doing the bag and fridge method, are you compressing the 2 winter cycle normally required so that you can have sprouted (with leaves) in the first spring after collecting the seeds?

    • @Gardenfundamentals1
      @Gardenfundamentals1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is part of the goal. The problem is peonies seem to germinate whenever they feel like it. But you can skip the winter, by a few weeks in the fridge.

    Yes you can most likely grow from seed but man that will take even longer than getting a bare root which might still take a couple yrs to see a flower. On established plants you can divide and transplant so they say havent done that yet on peony.
