    Council House crackdown has had it's intentionally diversionary day. Now it's time for 'Tax Haven Crackdown' and 'Government Corruption Crackdown'. Let's tell the truth about who the real criminals are.

    • @mee5780
      @mee5780 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Panorama? Dispatches? Andrew Marr show? Sunday Politics? Newsnight? There are loads... Plus tax havens aren't illegal.. most of the people on this TV programmes are committing a crime. They make it quite clear at the start that this is only a small percentage of the population. The vast majority of those in social housing are good tenants

    • @hilaryporter7841
      @hilaryporter7841 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mee5780 Come on. We all know the smear implicit in the title, much more powerful than any mealy mouthed disclaimers. Tax havens are out of control. The EU knew it and so did our extreme right wing politicians. It was the EU threat of more transparency that prompted the disastrous Brexit experiment which destroyed UK/ European exports. It'll take years before British business can trade profitably with our nearest neighbors again. Going back to titles like Council House Crackdown, it's playing to the worst sort of prejudice. There really is a need for Tax Haven Crackdown', the EU thought so and I guess they knew. As for tax havens being legal, when you have corruption in government, any damn thing you like can be made legal.

    • @HumansAreShitFactories
      @HumansAreShitFactories 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      At least people who use so called tax havens operate within the rules and don’t rip their peers off, and they probably donut to protect their hard gained money from the money grabbing collectivist masses who think they’re hard done by and that the world owes them a living.

    • @hilaryporter7841
      @hilaryporter7841 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HumansAreShitFactories Goodness, we have it demonstrated to us every day that it's only the little people who have a better record of living within the rules. Look at just one example, the PPE scandal, where millions of pounds of taxpayers money was handed to greedy 'tory' cronies to make PPE which they had no expertise in, much of which later quietly ended up in landfill. Socialism for the rich? No the money grabbing minority can bend the system however their power decides. Because the minority has the power and owns the press and media, they use smears to full capacity knowing the poor majority are powerless to resist.

      In UK 17% are social and council tenants. It used to be 30% in the 80’s. Then 50% further back. In the US about 3% get section 8. The one single mom had a 17 year old and a toddler, did not need it until relationship ended making 2 incomes 1 income. When the child conceived she was 2 incomes and they were fine paying rent together. Circumstances change. In the UK a person leaves school at 16. Then they do work, training or more school. A person done with school and starts a family a few years later is not a big deal. Someone has to have the babies.

    This happened next door to me . Eastern European couple moved in , initially very polite and friendly , within a month there were different people coming and going - parking issues along the street as they were parking over our drives .
    Lots of noise disturbance , Sunday night parties .
    We got onto the land lord to let him know there were many people coming and going ( this was one bed flat )
    We suspected they were
    Sharing flat with other friends and family .
    I again sent emails about my suspicions- the worst thing is this landlord was a policeman but would not believe me ?
    We told the landlord we don’t care you are police , we will ring the police ourselves next time they keep us awake sometimes up to 4am - my husband said they were smoking weed as you could smell it .
    I confronted the neighbour the next day as had enough.
    I said to them for a tenant who has a policeman for a landlord you don’t seem to care ? Their mouths dropped and said what do you mean ? I said oh hasn’t he told you he’s a police officer ?
    Next day van turns up a pile of men get out and they move all their friends stuff out - never saw them again !
    The flat was wrecked, drug paraphernalia everywhere.
    The landlord did apologise to us eventually - he has been too embarrassed ti speak to us since . Having had his fingers burnt , cost him a fortune to get the flat habitable again , We now have very decent quiet tenant’s , he visits regularly to check the flat as well happy days !

    This woman from turkey really rubs me the wrong way. I am disabled because of a birth defect I worked until I was 43 years old. I never started claiming disability benefits until years of hospitalizations and illnesses because I really didn’t need the money because made enough marriage. I remember the judge ask me why did it take me so long for something that I deserved. Just recently I started receiving benefits and insurance which I pay out of my pocket $1000 a month. My heart goes out for anybody that is disabled because I can understand how they struggle each day with all the demands of every day life. But then you have this woman from Turkey who scams the Home from someone who actually needs it and on top of it she is an even a British citizen. I hope after watching many of these shows that they now can cross reference many of these individuals so it is caught right away. I do believe that we do need to help the most vulnerable individuals in our countries so the individual can live with dignity.
    I think if there was a serious fine and prison time for at least a decade people would think twice about stealing from the council.

Personally the once I had to claim benefits ( when I was being treated for cancer) I found it intimidating and I was completely honest about money in the bank etc because I respected the law- I’ve also always been convinced that if I did try to cheat would be caught lol. Clearly if you have no fear or integrity, the system is easy to cheat.

At coffee time, being an old lady I sat and listened to all these people from Africa and eastern Europe. Let me tell you many know a lot of loopholes to stay and how to stay better than immigration. I was really surprised but at the same time not surprised. It seems if there was a question someone knew someone that had the answer to how to get around that problem. Wow, a real eye-opener.

    I live in social housing and when my long term next door neighbor moved out of the area a lovely middle aged Polish couple (man & woman) moved in. Their daughter who lived elsewhere helped them move in & her mother told me she was so excited to get a social housing property as she'd been on the waiting list for 12 years. The daughter visited all the time with her little boy & new born baby. It was just the couple that moved in, no one else. 6 months later I hear dance music with excessive bass blasting from the back/2nd bedroom. Judging by the music it was somebody young. A few weeks later music was blasting again,all the windows were wide open.
    (There's very little insulation between the semi detached house since all the white asbestos insulation panels were removed secretly during the external cavity wall/insulation/render & replacement kitchen works) I went next door to ask her not to turn the music down just the bass. A Polish woman in her early 20's came running down the stairs and started to shout and swear at me, I was really nice at first but she just kept shouting at me and telling me it's none of my business & she can play her music as loud as she wants & she'll continue to do so because she can do what she wants. I told her that she can't do what she wants if it's annoying me/her neighbour. I pointed out that a few houses are playing music, having parties & BBQs but they're not playing their music loud. Eventually a different Polish man came to the front door and started shouting in Polish I assume he was telling her to turn it down or off. 3 years later I very rarely see the original couple that first moved in.The young woman & man are there all of the time The two men look alike but one is bald on top and the other isn't so they're probably brothers.The daughter only visits for a couple of hours every month on a Sunday, she doesn't visit any other time. I think that's when she collects the rent which is due the next day/Monday?
    There is also a separate mail box on the outside wall which I've only seen the man using. I continue to have problems with my neighbours, since they've lived there a weekend hasn't gone by without them doing some kind of loud DIY or banging- even after 10pm. The young woman is always rude & aggressive even when I ask how long they will be banging for. Thanks to the lack of insulation between our party wall I hear every step they make, especially when they're going up and downstairs. They are both very big built & heavy. The woman stomp's on the stairs & is a lot louder than the man. I hear every single movement from whoever is in the property, sometimes the woman's mom or sister (they look alike more than the two men do) stays for an odd week or two. From their movements I've worked out she lives upstairs and he lives downstairs, that's probably why she acts as if she is a tenant because she is and not a family member who just happens to live with them. I've tried to be nice & friendly but all I get is verbal abuse from her. Once in a blue moon I see the original couple who are always friendly they say hello & ask how I am. I know it's different people that live there. I told my housing association & somebody went out to visit them but only after they'd sent a letter telling them the time & date of the visit! My landlord informed me the couple that were living there are the same tenant's who originally moved in, I asked them how do they know for certain they're the original couple and I was told because they are Polish and it was a Polish couple that originally moved in. I said it's a different couples but unless the LLy took photos of their new tenants, how do they know if they're subletting;they don't. As far as I'm aware no housing association does.
    Basically if someone is subletting their social housing property to members of their family's or to someone else who's the same race as them & they work instead of been on welfare benefits they're never going to get caught subletting. Subletters only seen to get caught when they abuse the welfare benefits & claim stuff they're not entitled to. It's not just a case of ' well they pay their rent on time, they keep their property nice & make their garden's look lovely and do all the repairs themselves' who cares if they're not the couple that moved in'!
    I do because who am I living next door to, who are my neighbours and why are they always unhelpful,rude abusive & not at all neighbourly towards me. I don't get it. A lot of tenants who lived in Grenfell Towers were subletters, subletting is an epidemic that needs to be dealt with. If the government agencies & Housing association take photos of all their new & existing tenants it will make it harder for people to sublet then theres no address to claim benefits from.
    My social housing landlord are supposed to carry out periodic visual checks as well as survey the outside of our properties to determine if any work needs doing such as cleaning the gutters or replacing them but there's no legal responsibility for them to do that.

    I am in temporary housing at the moment, waiting to be housed, I am on a priority banding 2, Bristol, I have autism and struggle generally daily, it was a living hell when I was told by my ex landlord served an eviction notice, me not knowing it was a 1 year tenancy only due to covid which was not made clear, then when he served the eviction Xmas 21, to be out by January 22, for no other reason than wanting it for students as he said I can get more rent, anyway week before my eviction date was due I got housed in a temporary housing association place, I got lucky on that one that I am in a reasonable nice studio flat where I have my own bedroom space with a wardrobe and chestard draws and a lounge that doubles up as a small kitchen, I only have to share the bathroom, lucky the communal area and actual building is well maintained, as I am aware of some horror story's of some temporary housing, anyway moving forward i just keep positive and know that eventually I will be housed since I am on a priority banding, I just want to get my life back on track as my life feels like it's on hold.

    It's kind of amazing that, reading these comments, you folks seem to have a lot of the same complaints we do. Fraud in the welfare system is rampant here too. Our village runs a food pantry on Wed nights and the number of new cars in the line for free food is sickening. Our public housing situation is the same. Probably not as many illegal immigrants because they avoid the government but it's loaded with people who abuse the system and lie.

    With the *massive* amount of foreigners moving to our country all of the council houses are no longer available. There's a 15 year waiting list. And some, not all, then use the laws of our country to get all the benefits that natural born citizens would have gotten in times of need. Straining then draining the system finances. And because a lot of the people seeking asylum are obviously in "need" too, that's how they screw the systems. And once they have a stable address within country, their families then enter the country as relatives that have somewhere to live and repeat the process. Shipping more and more foreigners into the country that weren't in dire situations. All the while more natural citizens end up on the streets and foreigners become naturalized citizens who continue to bleed the system as they setup bringing others into country to do it all again. It's very hard not to hate them all, those abusing the system, as you see them grifting the system without a care. *A Soft Invasion* some call it. And sadly the method I listed *can and does* apply to ALL of the First World Countries which are targeted this way.
    Abusing the Humanitarian Help, Care and Assistance they were offered by these countries. With no intention at all of ever integrating into the country they are currently abusing / invading. It's sickening.

    Lawyers are aiding betting Fraud by coaching illigial immigrants. Lawyers are paid a lot to spin a yarn. Organised crime is stemming from legal arenas in England. You would think lawyers would loose there licence, be barred from ever working in law again - on the premise National security concerns.
    But hey thats to much common Sense.
