Matilda in the flipper frenzy was my favourite Matilda moment! That was great it was a real chance to see her really go toe to toe with some tough big named robots! and in my opinion she won that event!
Tossing Vader OOTA in Extreme 2. Disc against disc. Gruesomely marvellous. 😁 Second one being when Razer creeped Raging Reality towards that flywheel... the anticipation and then... BOOYAH!!!
Matilda actually Gyrodanced at 11:49, I think that’s the earliest example of a robot doing that, since back then most spinners were too low powered for gyroscopic effects to kick in.
Matilda in the flipper frenzy was my favourite Matilda moment! That was great it was a real chance to see her really go toe to toe with some tough big named robots! and in my opinion she won that event! Man that pink 27kg disc was the most dangerous in RW! Awesome!
As cool as it was that the house robots actually were able to do some damage in the later years, it's a shame that a handful of fights were dictated by them being in places that they shouldn't have been
Vs Razer (2nd time) , vs Hypnodisc (for the 3rd place) , and personally I would say that it was pretty unlucky vs Storm II (similarly to Razer battles, Firestorm started fairly then got stuck on angle grind/bent up front and it was all downhill from then on).
Maybe none ever noticed but Matilda AND Sgt Bash were the most potentially destructive House Robots of the bunch: Matilda easy to say was the Hypnodisc of the HR, but Sgt. Bash had those pincers that did the same piercing hole damages of Razer. However, you would rarely see Bash piercing in a vital part of a competitor limiting to clench a marginal part of it and carry, because it could have killed a robot forever otherwise much like Razer did with Chaos 2.
@@jds355 And that was why she got rebuilt better with the flywheel. Indeed, Razer have said they were given free reign to go after Matilda precisely because the producers planned a rebuild!
i always loved seeing matilda and Mr. psycho it seems like when those two got together. it just got violent. course i loved psycho and was pissed when he did not return in reboot but the mistress of the arena was always a fav.
Matilda definitely became one of the most damaging house robots after she gained the flywheel. The chainsaw really needed to go and letting Razer loose on her was a good way of doing that. Big Nipper getting set on fire in the reboot series is exactly why they should have kept Refbot in, but I digress, perhaps it didn't fit the theme or structure of the reboot show.
Should have Judge Shred as a house robot. Like a giant moving SSI machine with a lifting claw. Might be a bit much the whole robot being shredded to death though....
@@odizzido I think the issue that you are having is that battlebots has a heavier robot weight than robot wars. Most robots in robot was used old heavy batteries and big heavy slow electric motors too meaning that the armour used on those robots were sometimes just sheet aluminium and plastic armour very thin frames. Battlebots robots Vs the robotwars robots would be no competition unfortunately, battlebots wins pretty much everytime.
@@DeAtHaToMiC88 Also the power of the motors back then just isnt anything like it is now. Back in the first few seasons windscreen wiper motors and gearboxes were common. Just because they could be got for almost nothing from the wreckers and didnt need much modification. Then later on one of the most common setups was the Bosch 750w 24v DC motor over driven to 36v (max allowed voltage in the rules) effectively giving you 1.1KW of drive per side. Also the reason so many robots smoked because the motors were being overloaded really.
I'm sorry but as a uk bbc tv licence subscriber, why the fuck am i seeing thousands of pounds worth of robots being destroyed by the bbc proabably half million pound robots? it's not fair, simple as that, unless of course, the bbc actually pay the competitors fees, in which case ok. But, house robot in a cpz, fine, coming out rogue, no , not on, house robot deleted from service!
Time for some House Robot damage! Matilda is first up, what's your favourite moment from her?
Definitely when it tested out ceros in series 7
Or maybe check3 getting evaporated
Matilda's chainsaw was replaced with a circular saw after Razer destroyed her.

The upgrade from chainsaw to fly wheel was the best thing that could have happened for Matilda
Actually it’s the best thing that happened to robot wars in my mind
Thank Razer for that
And the worst thing for all other robots lol
The most destructive ass outside of a fighting game
Matilda actually Gyrodanced at 11:49, I think that’s the earliest example of a robot doing that, since back then most spinners were too low powered for gyroscopic effects to kick in.
Matilda's flywheel used to smash robots hard like a wrecking ball. From Joe. X
It's always shocking seeing Matilda SOOTA all those bots. That sound when she sent Nuts 2 out was like a gunshot going off.
The "flywheel bottom" on Sir Chromalot is low-key one of my favourite moments ever. And it's arguably not even the most dramatic OOTA in that fight!!

As a kid I watched Bob The Builder

@@gibsano8446so true with the chainsaw part
The power in that Flywheel was just insane.
first 30 seconds: Cutting through it with a chainsaw? Lol did they make their bot out of wood?
next 30 seconds: oh.
She went from clearly the weakest house robot to arguably the strongest.
Certainly the highest power to weight ratio of any of the house robots and most of the competitors.
I'd say Killalot was always the most powerful, even after Mr Psycho, Growler and (ugh) cassius chrome were added.
That TV on Niterider was simply adequate!!

Matilda smells wood... approaches in reverse... is it just my imagination or is there something more to that.
Can we get Firestorm's closest battles? They had a decent amount, and they were all amazing.
My immediate thought is Firestorm 3's two battles in the Series 5 Grand Final Eliminator, in which it narrowly earned another 3rd place finish
I would love to see Shunt or Sir Killalot get the spotlight next.
I really like shunt for some reason. I know it's not the most effective robot in terms of damage or anything but it's just fun.
I like to call the times when Matilda flings another robot into the air, I call it the Might Matilda Uppercut

We can all agree that the fly wheel did serious damage to a lot of robots until Razer destroyed her behind.
Razer damaged Matilda beyond repair in series 4 during the Southern annihilator final, whilst she still had her chainsaw.
