Hi. Awesome video! I'm a UK citizen and don't have a motorbike licence of any kind. If I moved to Chiang Mai, would I be able to learn to ride there and obtain a Thai license?

Yes you are able to. I think you can find videos on TH-cam about how to get a scooter license in Chiang mai. My wife went to the Honda riding school and got her Thai riding license there

@@astralloner would you say it's worth learning in Thailand? How long would it take roughly to be able to ride legally on Thai roads?

@@alimurad2614 i personally feel it’s a good way to get around especially in the city centre where traffic can be quite congested. Of course, riding is not so good when the rainy season comes. Think it took about maybe 5 sessions to get her license? How fast depends on the slot availability for the required sessions. But of course, riding in the school is different from the actual roads, so just have to be more aware and keep calm

@@alimurad2614 I also did a few long distance trips on my scooter as i quite enjoy riding and appreciating the scenery. I rode down to Bangkok and back to Chiang Mai on my scooter and also did the Mae Hong Son Loop while I was living in Chiang mai

Hi, thanks for sharing your video.
    - For scooter rental, any idea if rental company accept SG Class 3 Driving Licence?
    - Is yours auto-gear?
For my long-term plans, I hope to get a motorbike license in Chiang Mai. I will research further how to get one.

Hi, our situation is slightly different as our landlord also rented us the scooter.
      Yes it is auto gear.
Singapore driving license is recognized in Thailand. Don't actually need an international driving license here which I made a mistake of applying for one before I arrived. Thankfully it wasn't too difficult or expensive, just wasted some time
