My Downhill Setup!

  • This is me discussing my downhill setup I’ve been refining for a bit. I’ve gone through many iterations of setups and this feels pretty good. There’s really not a whole lot I’d like to change other than maybe a narrower set of hangers to reduce my track width a bit down to ~9.5 inches. Also maybe some slalom trucks (once I can afford them lol).
    Setup includes-
    -Loaded Truncated Tesseract
    -Paris V3’s 180 mm 43 degrees
    -Loaded Jehu V2 bearings
    -Landyachtz 76/85A Dual-Duro Cheetah Hawgs
-Venom Bushings: 88A roadside 91A boardside
    -Roger Bros V2 footstop
    -Loaded Button head hardware
-Fireball extra long 2-inch bolt (for footstop)

If you want a more "divey' setup without getting new hangers, flip the wheels the other way so that the overhang is on the inside. Also, I've been seeing a lot of peeps complain of speed wobbles. All in all, it's about control, and you don't necessarily want a lot of steering power from the back side of the board. Having a shallower angle on the back really helps along with some bushing play. Ideally you want to be nice and relaxed on the board, focus on chilling into the speed and relaxing. If you get stuff, that wobble gets massive. Have confidence and work up to bigger and better.

Your right i run 50 rear and front theres no wobbles even my set up is slopy loose and i even hit 80mph and nothing... All i can say its on the riders stability not on angle

@@longboardreview1453 yeah you’d think it’s super skinny but honestly, with Magnums or Cheetahs you’re looking at a 9” track width so not super narrow

Check out some of my raw runs,. you don't have to slide too much and it makes for an interesting more different kind of downhill ride. No Paws no Claws that's how I roll.

I also use the paris v3 with a 43 degree base plate. But for me this stup is too wobbely. Im just about to get the bear precision trucks

Get harder bushings my guy, or just get more experienced by building up to a higher speed. If it’s that bad, a $400 set of smokies isn’t gonna help what needs to be worked on. Now granted, smokies are great, it’s still gonna be wobbly even w smokies. All that smokies do is give you a more precise feel and turn on your trucks.

One of these days I'll find trucks that are better but so far just these Atlas work well for me that I personally use.

Dope vid bro, how you like those paris 180's for going quick? Just picked myself up some as Im running 50's and they get a bit wobbly once I hit 25-30.

They’re actually quite good. I’d say the setup I have is good for Downhill and freeride since it’s symmetrical, but it works great at fast speeds. You’d be surprised how having 43 degree plates makes such a big difference. Really I’d recommend just buying new base plates and keeping the hangars from the 50’s. You could get just 1 43 degree hangar and go split degree but I’ve never experimented w that. Thank you for commenting!🙂

Paris are super turny even at 43° they feel so lively.
Definitely get 43 in front and mabye 35 or 30 randal plate for going really fast in the back.
Also make sure to have somewhat of a railmatch with the edge of ur board and outside lip of the wheels.
The wheels in this Video are sticking out way to much.

The wheels sticking out that much from the board is not a good idea. Either you'll catch the edge on your shoe when carving or you'll step on one when pushing.
