  • We all want to belong to something. The need for acceptance is so great that we label ourselves and each other; we create insiders and outsiders. In this episode, Andrew explains the real advantage between insiders and outsiders. Spies make a career of breaking in; looking in; peeking in. We know that the way to win isn't by becoming an insider. It is by embracing the advantage you have as an outsider.

    Andy we are speaking the same language. I was born an outsider and have been one my whole life. My work life is the only part that is an “ insider”. As in taking jobs that don’t line up with who I am. My problem was listening to those that cared About me ( had good intentions) and I had a son when I was 20. I played the safe route for his sake ( don’t regret it). So I thought being an“ insider” at work was the right thing to do. I come from a blue collar family. They don’t think outside the box. My instincts have always been, outsider. Just didn’t follow them. Now my son is grown, I don’t have that responsibility ( food, water, shelter) anymore. Ready to hop on the outside. It’s my destiny Andy. I want to help. Once you meet me ( again) and we talk. You will see. Just like the wizard of oz.. there is no place like home my friend. God bless you and America sir 🙏🏼

    I like to listen to your stories. I have no association with the Agency,, I'm a simple attorney, but an outsider. I definitely agree with your description of the benefits of an outsider. It is my understanding that you try to participate in some TV programs/shows in LA. I've done some movies with AFI (American Film Institute) in LA years ago, but I'm no longer involved in that. When you ever come to LA, I would love to meet you, we can grab some coffee or simply drive around.

    The Advantages of Being an Outsider
    Arash, Gus, and the author's different backgrounds and experiences highlighted their outsider status during a training exercise, leading the author to realize that many CIA officers are outsiders who never truly belonged on the inside.
    Arash embraced his outsider nature after leaving the agency, living a unique and unconventional life in France.
    The author also left the agency, questioning his decision but acknowledging the importance of pursuing something beyond dedication to the country.
    Getting to the Outside
    Being an outsider allows for innovation, partnerships, and disruption of norms, while being on the inside leads to a lack of differentiation and failure.
    To get to the outside, recognize that you're on the inside, accept that it's okay to be an outsider, and take an outside stance.
    Listen to Everyday Espionage to understand the concept of being an outsider.
    Ask yourself if what you want can be achieved by doing what everyone else is doing. If not, stop doing what everyone else is doing.
    Find outsiders, talk to them, and learn from their observations and experiences.
    Conclusion
    The advantages and opportunities of being an outsider are infinite but hidden, and the only way to find them is to observe them from the outside.

    To win, build a commuity of outsiders with a shared common goal. And that's how you start a revolution.

    2:00 dont want any of that, just want enough money to not have to deal with ppl I dont like...

    • @UnPoquitoDeSal
      @UnPoquitoDeSal 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need money to avoid dealing with people you don't like! LOL! The trick is to *not* worry about whether you have money or not and *then* you can do whatever you like. Otherwise you will always be a slave to situations and people you don't like, because really, you are a slave to money.

      Thats called being homeless...

    • @UnPoquitoDeSal
      @UnPoquitoDeSal 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@beachboardfan9544LOL! I can appreciate how you would come to that conclusion, but you need to ask yourself what your priorities are and what you would give (everything comes at a cost) to meet them. There are some things money simply can't buy e.g. the freedom to be yourself. If you can't be yourself without money, do you really think you will be yourself with 'enough' money?

    • @wintermatherne2524
      @wintermatherne2524 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UnPoquitoDeSal No, I have to cooperate and collab with people I don’t like, but if I could pay people to do what I need, I could tell them to go jump in the lake. But you can’t get much more free than homeless, so I guess I don’t love freedom hat much.

    ok we all know this is 16:43 minutes of genius yup I will say people who say they understand computers or quantum science or quantum computers if they dont understand what you are saying here all bets are off they wont be able to use the technology especially & do more harm than good not to say they cannot change especially *if they dont notice that this is what you have been doing your whole life* & when they are *foreced to see this is what you had been doing AND ITS ALL THERE but they just didnt notice* (LOL AMIRITE???LOL!!LOL!!!) When I was being abused as a child l I knew what a camera was I knew id be able to send a message later -- these images are terrifying im such a weak dark under eye circle toddler but while everyone is pretending & smiling I am staring into the camera with agency "I will get into the future I will fix this shit everyone is fucked" & that is exactly what happened based on your mutual observations observation (which also protects all the observers ;) I am sanguine you are a rare choleric
