Meh, you’re really grasping at straws here. My wife and I spent 6 months testing pretty much everything out there all in the highest trim possible, Highlander, Telluride, Atlas, Palisade, CX-9, Pilot, and some higher priced ones like Yukon, Tahoe, MDX, QX80, Navigator and Grand Cherokee L. In the price bracket of the Atlas it has the nicest interior and exterior with the Highlander being a very close second. In this price range we narrowed it down to Telluride, Highlander, Atlas and Palisade. The Atlas has the cleanest looking and most premium feeling interior. Telluride is nice but it feels like it’s trying too hard and it doesn’t feel as spacious, plus the exterior gets uglier the more times you see one on the road. Highlander look fantastic but Toyota still make their interiors feel a bit more cramped than others. Palisade interior is better than the Telluride and the exterior is ok but the exterior of the Atlas was a win. None of them compared to the sleekness of the Atlas after multiple visits and test drives in each vehicle. They all ride pretty much exactly the same but the comfort in the cockpit goes to the Atlas. In the high price range the only one that felt like it was worth it’s price was the Jeep Grand Cherokee L and Lincoln’s. The interior and feature set in the Jeep Summit trim and Navigator were very attractive plus the exteriors are gorgeous. The Tahoe High Country and Yukon Denali were nice but if you want it with all the options as the Atlas you’re paying almost 40k more here in Canada. The AT4 is a bit cheaper but at the end of the day both GMC’s and the Chevy look like a basic truck both inside and out. If I wanted a truck I’d go buy one. All these higher end vehicles didn’t seem worth it compared to a fully trimmed out Atlas. The only place where the higher priced vehicle win is the engines. You can get a 5.2, 6.2 V8 or a 3.0 turbo diesel in the GMC/Chevy and a comparable engine in the Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit and Navigator. If the Atlas had a turbo diesel option or a higher output V6 then they’d really have something special. For the price the Atlas is definitely the best especially if you have kids. We chose the Execline R line with the second row captains chairs which can tilt fully forward and slide back and forth to get access to the back row all while having a full size car seat strapped in. No other vehicle on the market can do that. Maybe in a few years when the kids are older and we are car shopping again and need more interior space we will look at what Jeep has to offer like the Grand Wagoneer, also if GMC can put more effort in separating the look of their SUV’s and trucks I’d be interested purely for the space aspect, and also the Escalade. If you’re going for a high end premium vehicle with 3 rows with the most space you should go for high end Lincoln, Jeep, Cadillac, top trim GMC/Chevy. Infiniti is headed in the right direction but the 3rd row needs more room. Out of all the large 3 row family haulers with the most interior space, the Atlas wins hands down. Against the higher priced premium vehicles, they beat the Atlas on interior design and the “plush” premium feel. Technology features are essentially the same, but after taxes you’re going to pay 30-50k more. If you want best bang for buck Atlas is the way to go.

My wife’s 2021 Tiguan SEL R-line. 18 000 miles. Car is actually in service. We are waiting for new engine. From 10 000-18 000 I added 4 quarts of oil. Smoke from exhaust, no power. Thanks God for warranty.
Never never never buy VW.
How is resale value on these compared to Teluride and Palaside?
Lease and dump it that’s the best way to get an Atlas
Better, kias lose their value very quick
Drive to its last drop😝😝😝 fairly reliable components..should last atleast 200k kms💪💪
I have a 2019 Atlas. Reselling now in 2022.
11k miles on it, good condition.
I'm losing about $800 in the amount I paid for it trading it in.
I know it's covid times and resales are super up, but getting 100% back, I would consider that better than you could hope for.
@@ddavis8988 yeah crazy times right now, those prices are unheard of
Nice spacious VW. Unfortunately, it does not have the RHD option for UK, AU, NZ, JP, and SG etc
Best SUV IS 6 cylinder no turbo. ! Vw doing great job in market.
These have the VR6 + Toyota transmission. They’ll outlast the 4 cylinder version, Telluride and anyone in the comments.
Hi Kevin, you have the big cheap Atlas and we have the big expensive Touareg from VW, I wish we can have both. Thanks Kevin.
Yea I remember you told me they don’t sell these in Europe just designed for the American market
@@MeynMotorGroup Hi Kevin, I think that VW can´t sell expensive cars in Nord America like here in Europe because the American market is very price sensitive.
@@alengreen589 yea the expensive VW in North America is called Audi
The quality, fit, and finish of the Touareg is heads and shoulders above the Atlas. I'll keep my 2016 TDI! Although diesel prices now.....ouch
Needs to be a V8
door harness recall, recall after recall.
Tellurides make a nasty sound at start up. The timing chain tensor gets stuck. It’s an unfortunate characteristic of Kia SUVs. So not sure how reliable that is long term.
Suspension is hard but taken care by 2 rubber buffers added to each strut.....now its comfy🤷♂️🤷♂️... Need more power than VR6 perhaps electric motor assist to boost HP......next... horrible headlights...especially during rain....hell yaaa😝😝😝....need real fogs with 3k .....otherwise Silent Spacious cabin, Safe, Confidence inspiring Haldex AWD 🙋🏼♂️.....reliable too with 8speed Aisin transmission & Trusted VR6💪💪💪 Should last atleast 200k kms😎
You added the 2 rubber ? Or u removed the old one and installed the new ones ?
Nothing like the VR6 sound and with the wookie pipe installed. Man watch out.
Good review but I would favour a Highlander even if it's a tad smaller.
Yea I would choose a highlander over this
Highlander for reliability. But VW has better awd & with better tires can get thru most terrains unlike toyotas
@@gardenst4398 better yea maybe for about 4years. I will take a Highlander for God knows how long and avoid terrain.
I stress on VW AWD with a mud-snow rated tires....cos I have experienced its stability @ 140kmph on a slushy ice covered Hwy road not plowed ....when most cars were slowly making it. F150s were the only ones to compete with me during that road trip.🤪 Just once I got a message on dash saying "ESC intervene" but very quick to regain control back ...less than a second👍👍👍
Cross shopped the highlander with the Atlas. While toyota's reliability reputation is amazing, the features of the highlander fell flat compared to the Atlas. Trunk and third row size was non-existent in the highlander.
🙏
This is a soccer mom, grocery getter. Modern Minivan.
Don’t miss 6 k oil change
Not sure about this ,but I heard spends lots gas !!any body ??
Paying over MSRP is not an indicator of vehicle competence. Paying over MSRP IS an indicator that you're either an uninformed buyer OR you have a serious case of FOMO and you're desperate to join the rest of the sheep getting bent over by the Kia dealerships for a mainstream SUV.
Well they’re certainly not lining up at the VW store to pay over sticker for an Atlas that’s for sure.
good
Do not buy this car!! I made a big mistake and got it!! I regret buying it!!
What about it specifically did you not like
@@MeynMotorGroup I've been going to Volkswagen dealership in Yorkdale for over three months to fix my steering wheel problem!! They said they changed some parts in my car and my car is ok!! But my car is too bad to be driven on the highway so I went to iDowntown Volkswagen to prove it. they fixed this problem!! and i paid extra money to detect it!! Yorkdale Volkswagen had to admit there was a problem!! first they said they will repair my car under warranty!! they called today and said that the warranty does not cover that problem!! Since I bought this car, service related problems do not end!! every time I go to the service, my car has a bigger problem!!
Yea that’s crazy sorry that happened to you wish the dealers would be on top of things
@@MeynMotorGroup Volkswagen Canada is insensitive to what's going on and they don't know their customers, they don't even know that my car has 200000 km warranty!! I get all the maintenance of my car done at Volkswagen dealers, I buy my car's tires from them, but when I go to the service, there is a bigger problem with my car the next day!! Everything I say is documented!! service test driver said, go to another service! I bought my car from you (Volkswagen), why go to another dealer?
@@haydarsahin76 if the car is within the warranty period its supposed to cover everything except maintenance items like brakes tires and fluids.

Appreciate you sir!
When has it felt good to drive over a pot hole this guy does not know what he is talking about smh
I know you’re not that much of a moron you know what ride quality is don’t you? AKA comfort in suspension surely you’re not that daft
There is no "pro" to owning a VW.
They lease out pretty good while offering a lot of standard equipment I see the appeal their SUVs just aren’t very good
