Ah, the early seventies. I remember it well. Redbone, Carly Simon, the Adrisi Brothers ..so many great songs. This was one of them. A world gone away...of excellence in all things. Hold your memories near, dear Baby Broomers. It will never be again.
I heard this on the radio on a long drive home the other night. It went on instant replay in my head for the next few days. I remembered it from my long lost youth. Beautiful song by a beautiful lady.
I think she also did a lot of work on Broadway, so her career was split between making records for the radio and doing the non-radio thing on Broadway. But you're right. It seems like her record company could have found more hits for her. This song was a "hit" and Beverly made it that much better.
I was that awkward 14 year old who sang to songs on the radio in my bedroom every night. This one ALWAYS made me cry. Now, at 60, it still brings a tear; but, fortunately, I've learned to deal with life's disappointments with a lot less angst. Such a heart-rending song.

This song was and is Beverly Bremers' masterpiece. She sings it with such feeling and depth one cannot help but to feel touched every time one hears it. Many songs are nice but few have this characteristic of touching those who hear it.
This came out when my folks split up and I was 18 and so missed my dad. He passed 10years ago and I'lliss him forever now. RIP William Buford Neal. I'll love you forever
Forgive me that I didn't remember the artist's name but I recognized the song title when it showed up on TH-cam, so I just now listened to it in 3/2022 -- and remember LOVING this song way back when! Gorgeous instrumental arrangement and beautiful voice. So glad to have found this again!
This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Not only the music and the lyrics are very good but the singer has such a good voice so full of feeling as she sings this song it never fails to move me. This one is Beverly's masterpiece really. What could be better than this?
Beautiful song just came across it and boy did it bring back memories.I was in my 3rd year high school(16 yrs old).Wish they made songs like this today😊😊
Downright gorgeous and touching. Beverly's delivery is perfect and the arrangement is moving, as are the lyrics. I wish that younger people would come to see the beauty of such good music and abandon the electronica and auto-tune musical culture in which beauty, body parts and personal success seem to be the dominant considerations. As a man, I love the lyrics to this song and the valid message of a woman who says: "I value your love - where is it?" "People never stay the same forever." Such meaningful lyrics. Well done, Beverly! A song that always touches me.
Beverly - was going through some older CDs tonight and found this wonderful song - 62 years old now, and could sing every word along with you after all these years. Thank you!
I was a young DJ working at an easy listening oldies station in 1985 when I first discovered this song. I fell in love with it after one listen. Her voice, the arrangement, the melody...such a wonderful song. I remember at the time appreciating her female energy, that was the term that came to my mind...I was in awe of how feminine she sounded. I always looked forward to playing this song. I loved ever second of it! After first hearing it I researched what year it was released (using the Joel Whitburn refrence book of top 40 hits, this was before the internet) and I was surprised it was a hit in 1972 because it sounded older to me. I don't mean that as an insult, it has a classic sound to it that sounds like it could have came out of the girl group era. I wondered (and I still wonder today nearly 40 years later) if they were purposely trying to create a retro sound with this song?
I forgot all about this song until I heard it on one of those throw back Saturday night radio shows. One of the most beautiful songs, I just get chills when I here it makes me think of a long lost love. Hard to believe it doesn't get more airplay.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time! It always brings me back to my senior year in High School! It is so exceptionally beautiful! Thank you Beverly!
This singer can really belt it out. I love the strength of her voice! She is perfect to sing with the accompanist of horns. I'm sure she was great with Broadway too, due to her projection. This is where your talent lies Beverly, sing with the horns in your music. Your voice can compete with them where others fail.
I fell in love with my future wife during this time...listening to this beautiful song. I do remember the picnics, miniature golf, days at the shore and walking the Boardwalk. It's too bad no one has invented a time machine....So we could all go back, even for a few minutes...
Wow!! Just listening to some of the heartbreaker memory makers ........ I saw “Don’t say you don’t Remember” Tears came rolling out of my eyes. I haven’t heard that song for at least 40 years, but when it started playing I could sing the arrangement, and every single word. I loved this song! I am so happy to have it back in my life. Thank you! Thank you! And PLEASE ......... Don’t Say You Don’t Remember!
If I live to be 100 I will never understand why Bremers didn't go on to enjoy hit after hit. She had a truly wonderful voice; was actually a far better singer than many of her contemporaries. She also certainly was easy on the eyes too. It's so sad that she didn't go on to conquer the charts. :(
Me too, here in Charleston West Virginia. When this was a hit I was in high school and so in love. Love to return to 1971/1972 no COVID19 virus and Mom and Dad were still living.
🔐 locked down too Crystal in Virginia Beach Virginia and this song reminds me of my ex girlfriend how she broke my ❤ heart and left me dry. I hope she had a good life. I cried for 3 months...lol.. So everytime I hear this song, the memories are bittersweet...Peace and 💘 Love...
A bang-up song from a talented artist. Love it! As of late September 2024, Ms. Bremers is still alive. She is one year younger than me. We Boomers are a strong group!
I stii love, no adore, this song!! Her voice is perfect. I remember buying the 45 and wearing out both sides (I'm free on the flip side). How innocent love was back then.
This is a splendid song because Beverly's voice sounds so natural without being forced. She sang it with depth and with very much feeling so one responds when hearing this masterpiece of a song. Truly one of the best songs I have ever heard in my 71 years.
Thank you all for your lovely, heart-felt comments about this record - the song written by the fabulous Helen Miller & Estelle Levitt, the arrangement (Charlie Calello, a musical genius), the production by Helen Miller & David Lipton, and my performance on it. Your compliments fill my heart with joy! It seems that almost everyone has a very special memory & story to coincide with this recording, which is sweet & amazing. I truly appreciate you all, even if you don't remember me or thought I was Donny Osmond. ;- ) FYI, I did have another hit, "We're Free", which actually was banned on many radio stations (absurd by later standards) and I have continued to record & perform to this day. Thanks for creating & posting this video, OceanKingNY, and big hugs to you all!
+Beverly Bremers Well done, Bev! :-) I was like about 3 or 4 at the time this song came out, but I only discovered it here while back for the first time, and I gotta say I love this song! It should have most definitely gone higher on the charts than what it did.
+Beverly Bremers Good for you Beverly, music is such a wonderful gift, I'm glad you still sing, love your voice and love "Don't say you don't remember".
+Beverly Bremers Beverly it is always wonderful hearing you sing this song! It is a real blessing to listen to it. I love the feeling you put into the song, it is timeless! I always think of the ones I never won and and this makes me feel blessed to have tried even though I never won! God Bless you and your Wonderful Voice!
I am here. What a great song, from the the Winter of ‘71-‘72. She sings just as beautiful as she looks. What a great era for pop music - I truly miss it now at age 65.
One of those songs that were so well performed they are still nice to hear now 47 years later. I always liked the natural way, so sincere sounding in which Beverly sang this song. For me this is her masterpiece.
Hi, I am from the State of Mexico, and I would like to thank Beverly for this unforgettable and beautiful song. This masterpiece takes me back in time, when my parents lived, they were young and used to play this song and dance peacefully, smiling and holding each other when I was a 6 year old girl. Nowadays, many, many years later I remember those good old days and sometimes when I listen again to this sweet song ... my tears just come out like that and reminds me of not only my parents, but also the great days by my only sister, brothers and rest of the family I lost due to misunderstandings, all this after my parents passed away, just because of foolish material interests that finally ended up with a broken relationship between us, as this song says ... FOR ALWAYS ... HOWEVER ... THANK YOU BEVERLY FOR SUCH AN UNFORGETTABLE LOVELY SONG.
Timeless song really this one is good to hear anyplace and anytime no matter if it is cold, warm, dry, rainy or snowy. I have always liked the beautiful voice of Beverly Bremers.
Listening to this wonderful song on a loop, can't get enough of it. I'll be 74 Monday, and this song takes me back to truly happier time in my life. Funny how music brings back joy and sadness. For now I'm in a great place...Thank you Beverly!!!!!!
This classic song sung beautifully by singer and actress Beverly Bremmers was recorded in 1971 with beautiful orchestrations and fantastic backup singers was recorded 6 years before I was born in 1978. Thank you for posting and sharing this classic song! I love it!
Thank you SO much for your Response. It's mean, So much to get the Response's l have been getting . Have a VERY MERRY Christmas, And a HAPPY New year.God Bless.
It passed a half century. In the wintertime of 1972 there was held the Olympic Game in Sapporo Japan, Janet Linn, a lovely figure skater attended it.She was my favorite. That time I was 14.
I have had this song stuck in my head for 40+ years, and I didn’t know the title or the artist that sang this song. But I knew if I kept at it, I would get both title and artist. I found out a couple of years ago, and wow! I’ve got my satisfaction. This song was on the radio in the Atlanta area back in the 70’s on WQXI , and I would wait patiently until the song would play again. This song ranks into my all time favorite songs, because it has such a hauntingly beautiful melody. And then the lyrics! Somebody always loves a little more. That is so true! Thank you Beverly , for giving this song to us. It’s a gift from God, sung by an angel!! Can it get any better than that?!
Interesting. I only remembered hearing the title sung, not the rest. I was 11 at the time and don't think it was played much. Had I heard the rest, I would have played it over and over, as I am doing now. On the other hand, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart was released the same month, and had tons of airplay. As good as that is, this song is even better.
This song is so beautiful it is still a great song to hear nearlly half a Century later. Beverly did a great job on this one as she sings it with feeling and sounds as if she really means what she is saying. Still one of my favorites.

I've been listening to this song since it came out in the early '70s. Never tire of it. I am also very passionate about music. Nothing like the simple pleasures. A good cup of coffee and a good song every day.

I love this song still.I forgot what year this came out. I believe she is an American singer..
Locked down at home, listening to this song. How about you?
Thanks I was wondering. She was an amazing talent.
I stii love, no adore, this song!! Her voice is perfect. I remember buying the 45 and wearing out both sides (I'm free on the flip side). How innocent love was back then.
It is so cool that Beverly herself visit the site. Thank you for making such a great song.

This is a splendid song because Beverly's voice sounds so natural without being forced. She sang it with depth and with very much feeling so one responds when hearing this masterpiece of a song. Truly one of the best songs I have ever heard in my 71 years.
Listening to this beautiful song Thanksgiving 2021, I was 11 in 1971!! 61 now!!
Spring 1972. 8th grade, i'm still loving it in 2021.
I LOVED this song when I first heard it in jr. high! I'm 65 now and just found it again after all these years. Wonderful, gorgeous voice and lyrics.
65 now,too
Thank you all for your lovely, heart-felt comments about this record - the song written by the fabulous Helen Miller & Estelle Levitt, the arrangement (Charlie Calello, a musical genius), the production by Helen Miller & David Lipton, and my performance on it.
+Kinseydsp Thank you so much for your nice comments! And remember that you're a winner!
+Ken Jakubowski Thanks, Ken! You make me feel good all over. :-)
I am here. What a great song, from
the the Winter of ‘71-‘72. She sings
just as beautiful as she looks. What
a great era for pop music - I truly miss
it now at age 65.
Although it is sad, it is still my most favorite song.😍
I love it!
I hear this song,,, and my youth and first loves come flooding back,, still,,, after a lifetime. ❤
This is by far the best song of that era, and in 2019 STILL my favorite song ever, listen to it daily..thank you for so many memories to this song....

It passed a half century. In the wintertime of 1972 there was held the Olympic Game in Sapporo Japan, Janet Linn, a lovely figure skater attended it.She was my favorite. That time I was 14.
This song's message is universal...I mean, who hasn't felt the pain of unrequited love at some point in their life?

I'd love to return 70s when this was a hit I was in high school and so in love. I was 17 yrs old back in 1972
Interesting.
I hope everyone had a happy holiday season! Best wishes for an abundant 2024!
Same to you!
This song is so beautiful it is still a great song to hear nearlly half a Century later. Beverly did a great job on this one as she sings it with feeling and sounds as if she really means what she is saying. Still one of my favorites.
Listening to an old pop favorite in2022..hey Beverly....sounds as good as ever!!!

What a voice....man, i am surprised she didn't have more Hits. Bravo Ms. Bemers
You are kidding , right ? I hope .
I wondered why she didn't have any more hits also.
Love this song and Beverly’s voice.
Lately I’ve been thinking about my boyfriend in high school…..even to the extent that I have been dreaming of him.
This song is my favorite in terms of memories that will never fade!!!!!!
Best song of the 70s. Ms. Bremers really pours her heart into this classic tune. Thanks for the memories.

I've been listening to this song since it came out in the early '70s. Never tire of it. I am also very passionate about music. Nothing like the simple pleasures. A good cup of coffee and a good song every day.
The Best things in Life. Just a good cup of Coffee and a beautiful song from the best days this country ever will see. This is such a beautiful Love Song! For those like myself who have loved and Lost.

dennis guerrerio I agree. Love to 70s and the music. It was a big part of our life. I'd go back to the 70s and stay there, and not come back.
Stumbled across this beautiful song haven't heard it in sooo long ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had forgotten this song. I LOVE THIS SONG. STILL BREAKS MY HEART.
Don't say this isn't one beautiful song..the orchestral, the vocalist. So beautifully sad, soulful and meaningful, nostalgic. Sigh......
How cool....and thoughtful.....and appreciative....is that Beverly posts comments periodically to thank people for THEIR comments and to thank think...….Beverly....we DO remember......and so do you......thanks
