I run this car in the GT4 races and I couldn't agree more. In the fixed setup races it's sketchy trying to trail brake a lot because once the rear goes it's hard to hold it but when you can put a little more camber on it and take some rear ARB out it's a blast. I don't have any other GT4 cars so I can't compare but I really do love it on the limit.
Thanks. I've been all over the place creating content, some with subtitles, some spoken, some in English some in Portuguese, even plain random footage, so haven't really found my "place" yet. Appreciate it :)
I love the Porsche Cup, just up the overall strength of the ffb. That helps a lot. But I am on DD so it might be different. GTE all look very fun, but I am afraid the series doesn’t have much future in iracing (as in irl discontinued)
The F3 is probably my favorite car all around. It’s just very stable and fun to drive on the limit. Racing is usually clean. The Lotus 79 is one of my favorites for just driving around. Races rarely go official in that series. But as a demo car that’s what I would throw on the sim and let people try. The SF23 is close, too.
If you take the Super Formula for a drive around a grade 1 circuit like Spa or Silverstone then you might enjoy it more. Even the series regulars hated driving it at Road Atlanta this season.
Great video, completely agree with your ranking on the cars too. As far as the cayman and Porsche cup go, I have a feeling iracing will update the physics model at some point. Pretty much in any other sim you can get more rotation off throttle with those cars (same as lift off oversteer).
i use irFFB and was tuning it car-to-car to get it as high as possible without clipping. I'm sure it'd feel different on a DD wheel though (i'm on a T300)
I thought I'd get crap from PCup drivers from saying it 😂 It's odd because it's my absolute favourite car in ACC, but for some reason it didn't click with me on iRacing. Then again I only did like 7 laps on test drive mode. Think I'd get used to it over time, but I'll skip buying it for now...
I’ve always felt this way. It’s time for an update. I did have some success with it during week 13, what I did was basically turn the FFB all the way up. So I run it the same as I run the VEE and Mazda (20 Nm “max force” in iRacing, on my VRS base of 20Nm). This means I’m clipping a lot I assume, but the detail was finally there and it was the most fun and fastest I’ve been with it. By comparison, the Ferrari I run about 45 Nm max force in iRacing.
I race the Lotus 79 regularly, tbh I find it a bit odd if you think the car is unprecise. If you used some of the default iracing sets that might be part of the issue. The car does have understeer on entry but if you can grab it by the neck and put it where you want to it really rewards braking technique and confidence to carry speed into the corners. It is an old ground effect F1 car so the mechanical grip just isn't there and you don't get the full benefit of the floor if you lose too much speed on entry. I wholeheartedly believe it's still the most raw and nuanced car iR has released.
Yeah, I used the default setups. I was literally just loading as many cars as I could in the build day so I could test them all lol. Entirely possible the cars could have completely different feel with better setups and proper seat time.
I just bought the GT4 Porsche just because, haven'T really driven it yet. I got the McLaren first and man... the GT4 in iRacing are kinda boring imo. Even though i have ACC, i haven't tried the Porsche Cup in ACC. I quite like it in iRacing though, best racing i've done is in that car. Otherwise as I just got into B class, i've started to drive around with the Porsche RSR and the SF23: absolute beasts of cars. But like all open-wheelers, the SF23 is unforgiving on accidents.
I generally compete in the GT4s in iRacing, and although I agree they can be a bit boring to drive on their own they make for good racing. Only iRacing GT4 I own is the Merc though, which is quite nice to drive. Been planning to buy a GTE and jump them after these test drives though. But am kinda waiting for load cell pedals to arrive first (ordered a pair) as braking is trickier in these cars.
@@alegriasims3766 Oh yeah for sure. I find load cell helpful for no ABS cars. I'm running with some VNM Simulation Pedals Lite and it changed everything for me. I'll wait for next week cause all my races in GT4 on Motegi have ended in tragedy. People driving like maniacs. I go for relatively clean and safe races but they spin, they crash, they lunge and t-bone. Insanity.
the SF23 have got to be my favorite, i've went into this series with no open wheeler experience at all and it makes up more than half of my 22 wins since i joined the service this year
@@probablyrandom4557 Yeah i admit it's pretty fun, as long as everything runs fine. When chaos ensues I can't imagine it being fun, but again, that's true for most racing and most open-wheelers. I strongly recommend the F4. The F3 i haven'T got around yet but the F4 is very fun.
Agree overall. The only GT car I can drive competitively coming over from formula, without a ton of practice, seems to be the new Ferrari. Not sure why… they’ve figured out something in the feel department there.
@@alegriasims3766 you're missing out on what is one of the best iRacing experiences, driving a manual race car, and learning how much more involving it was to extract speed from them, get yourself a clutch and shifter!
unfortunately it's only available during week 13 and only during when they are updating the game. Last week 13 they extended it for an extra day but it's unusual
I'm using T300. I do understand it's not as good as a direct drive though Also this is just quick impressions from very short testing with each car, no time to learn each car properly
The Porsche GT4 comes alive as you shift brake bias back and do more trail braking on entry.

I love how you color-coded your messages here based on pro, con, and neutral. Excellent visual design for a video with no voice-over. GG

you have to turn up the ffb a lot in the gt3 cup. I have an 8 nm DD and it peaks sometimes depending on the track but its worth it to feel it more.

its a common, and entirely correct, complaint about the P Cup car that the FFB is really weak/bad, its why i didnt end up getting it

Nice video, sympathic.
Thanks!
You drove the Lotus 79 as a sequential shifter? Not manual? That's a problem mate
I don't own a shifter

Nice video. Do you use T300?
Yes I do 🙂 thanks
hey question how do you test drive cars you don't own i don't want to buy a car and not like it
During server downtime

Good video but.. you cant complaing about FFB while you use G29. Its a hardware issue, not car

Are you rating the cars or the mods? 🤔
These are iRacing cars you can purchase.. no mods.
