- Mercer Island is in the Seattle metropolitan area and located on an island in Lake Washington with a population of ~25k.
Best attractions in Mercer Island include Luther Burbank Park and Groveland Beach Park. A great place to visit in summer.
I love Seattle's weather during the summer....Not too hot or not too cold & it rarely rains.
Probably my home state soon. Coming to the US soon to work as a Nurse. But I'm not 100% sure yet since I'd like to carefully consider the climate. I don't like rainy seasons but my family were in Seattle, Quincy, and Spokane. Help! Lol! But If there is an equal four seasons, then it will help me love WA more. Haha! Need your advice. Tia!
First of all, welcome to WA!. Unfortunately, Seattle does not have the best weather in the US based on my knowledge and the rainy season lasts half a year. I am not familiar with Spokane or any other places in the east Washington but I read from somewhere that Spokane and Wenatchee receive much less precipitations compared with Seattle due to some geographical reason. There is another beautiful town in west Washington called Oak Harbor, which sits on an island that is 100 miles north of Seattle, receive less rains due to the same reason if you prefer to stay closer to the Seattle metro area. But again, although there are more raining days in Seattle, the annual precipitation is about average compared with other cities in the nation and another good thing about the weather here is that there is rarely extreme weather, which makes it more livable than cities in other areas.
