You might have 2 separate issues. Vibrations while at idle usually can associate with a misfire or bad motor mounts. Misfires won't cause vibration in the steering wheel so that seems to be a motor mount issue. And idle fluctuations will not be caused by bad motor mounts. That could be a slight misfire maybe bad coils and or plugs.
If you loosen the Oilfilter first, 1/4Liter old oil will flow back in the oil pan. So you can get more old oil out the Engine. Just a Tip. Greetings from Bavaria :-)
@@ChristopherBristol who knows? That's why I always do my own oil changes. The you don't have to worry about if someone else was in a hurry, lazy or inept.

8:48 - 9:10 man, what they’re saying about oil here is a lesson I had to learn the HARD WAY on my BMW E90. Definitely will always change my oil on time now 🙏🏾
In my car, I replaced my fuel tank breather valve. That wasnt it. An oil change didn't help. And then I finally brought it to a friend he immediately recognized the problem and it was my motor mounts. Changed those and it went away. Check yours bro.
Thank you so much for this video, I won't take my fluids lightly after watching this video. Your guy is awesome, trustworthy and genuine about cars. Thanks a ton!
I change oil in start of each season, so two times a year on my E91 diesel. We have harsh cold winters here in Norway and the engine runs colder for longer creating more sot. The oil is already black and smells after a season. I have the dreaded N47 motor that is known for timing chain problems if you don't change oil often.

Thanks bro, I was gonna have all the fluids flushed in my 09 328i e93. You saved me alota moneys not not doing the trans, rear dif, coolant, and power steering done.
Hey Spence, I’ve been watching your vids for a while now and I’m happy to say I bought my first M3. Looking forward to everything I’ll learn through your channel!
I hope you share some youtube money with this mechanic - he's honestly incredible and really deserves somethin extra. Regardless, thanks for recording this and putting it out there
Actually the initial 2007 BMW recommendation for the E9x M3 engine oil change was every 15k miles and know it's every 7,500 miles i believe ! which goes to show that they really have * limited understanding of oil and engine wear.
my summer car get its oil changed once a yr. always in the fall a week b4 i plan to put it away so i can drive it on the new oil for a bit before it goes away for the winter. usually only put like 3-5k on it in a driving season. only time its over 3k is if i take it up on a trip other wise it get goes to work a few times a week and around on the weekends if its not raining other wise i drive the truck i have no gas savors lol
Good stuff! My power steering reservoir also tends to overflow when I take it to the track. Going to upgrade to a BimmerWorld reservoir and hopefully solve that issue!
Definitely the most informative M3 video I have seen in a LONG time. Finally a productive video and legit advice/info from a great tech. Whew, thanks man. Just wish I had that info 1.5 years ago lol
Thanks for making this video. Who would have known that changing your oil helps keep your car running smoothly? /s It's like this is Spencer's first car and clearly he's never done an oil change or basic maintenance himself. This is all basic stuff that a dad or someone should teach someone when they get their first car. Lots of misinformation regarding fluid changes in this video. BMW claims lifetime transmission fluid but ZF recommends transmission fluid changes at 60k miles. Coolant should be changed every 2 years. Brake fluid at least every 2 years but if you track your car then at least every year. Differential and power steering fluid should be changed every 30k miles.
I own a '09 e92 M3 and have been chasing answers if the DCT fluid should be serviced at regular interval. Dealers pretty much say that its lifetime fill. On the other hand, my local Bimmer specialty shops recommend servicing it at 50K miles interval. Given that Precision Dynamics recommend 100K miles, I wonder how that differs from lifetime fill since, by that time, the DCT may be close to the end of the life anyway. Currently my M3 has only 35K miles and the DCT fluid service is just around 6 hundred dollars, I feel that it's still a worthwhile investment if it can prolong the DCT beyond 100K miles. The only risk I am concerned about is if it will cause slipping afterward due to the flush of metal shaving.
Hi all, thanks for this i wish we had people like this in South Africa, here everything must stay a secret 😩, they not really helpful. However im still confused about the gearbox service I have a 2010 e92 M3 DCT. No issues with it but gearbox oil and filter will be 12 years old by now.... So i don't know if I should change it or not? 91000km on clock. Also some say you need to do the side gasket some say you don't, and for that apparently you should remove the gearbox, still dont know what to do and what not to do? Any help will be appropriated allot. Thanks in advance
I would’ve did a black stone. I did an oil change right when I bought my car even tho the previous owner just did it. Why wait? I change it yearly. Even if it’s 2000 miles only.

there is no lifetime coolant or any car fluid for that. Car manufacturers consider warranty period to be lifetime of car. After warranty expires, so life of you lifetime fluids. Anyway i would definitely not leave coolant in car for more than 6 years, ideally change every 4 years. Btw LSD diff and manual gearbox oil should be changed every 3rd oil change ACCORDING TO BMW. Especialy with clutch LSD it always been the case to change oil every 30K miles. Can be stretched but then you might get to the point this guy mentioned in video that you will have to keep those metal shaving in diff to have friction in clutchpack
Yeah why not use LM? plus, the draining method uses was flawed... Let it drain an hour, loosen filter prior... DCT fluid lifetime is a joke. And he cited BMW recommended service intervals? Yeah, the same BMW recommended 15-20K mile oil changes? Scary this guy didn't know the basics
