Gentlemen, as I viewed this many ears ago, It popped back up on my likes (sure glad it did). I kind of remember the first time I watched this video, and the feelings that I felt just enjoying the magnificent beauty and grandeur of that incredible part of the world. We all look for words to describe such beauty, but as I mentioned earlier - I still can't find the right words? Simply Fantastic!!!
Amazing how accommodating the Ferry & Police were. It looked great from here but obviously not a patch on actually being there, we can see it in your expressions. Thanks for sharing.
I was stationed in Keflavik from 1970 to 1973 with COMFAIRKEF primarily to detect and track Soviet submarines transiting around the North Cape and into the Atlantic on their patrols. My wife and I had our first daughter there in 1972. She has dual US/Icelandic citizenship. We can't even read her Icelandic birth certificate. :) It is really a beautiful country in many ways. Icelanders were very friendly to the US forces stationed there at that time.
4:50 - 4:55 in -- that's Dettifoss, the largest falls in Europe by volume of water falling per second. Nice to see from the air, but you really only appreciate its size and wildness standing close to the falls from the top of the drop (I've got a few photos of it). Also, the downstream canyon is much bigger than it looks from the air, but it's cool to see it again from this different perspective.
Yes, Iceland is a magnificent country, and I think it was the only one to imprison the Banksters instead of bailing them out with tax-payers' money! Thank You AutoGyro Nordic for sharing your adventure with us for free! And no ads too! I'm very impressed, and I was very glad to be the first to take your Thumbs Up to 1K.
I have become fascinated by these machines. I am praying that one day I will be able to afford to have one and fly it. For now I have no learners or professional licence. Dreams can become reality. I told my colleagues at work that one day I come to work flying it. I love those machines. Thanks for the videos.
Yes, the scenery is amazing. I think a lot of it is due to the lack of large trees, so the various mountains and mesas stand out in all their naked glory. I love the way they can drive along the road and motor into a gas station, and all they need is 95 Octane. (I was very lucky with the weather there in the latter half of September 2015 -- not much rain at all. Never really cold, except Aurora Borealis watching the first night on a high mesa just West of Reykjavik.)
That was really cool. My god that country has more rain than England but those gyrocopters seemed to be able to cope with it. There were smiles all the way so it must have been great fun. I'd love to do it.
Absolutely fabulous! My mind exploded from landing and boarding the ferry, a elegance way to explore the beauty of nature! Thanks for sharing , enjoyed a lot!
Great video. I've flown business jets and turboprops in Iceland, which is incredible, but I like this view better. Tigre and I are finishing up our gyroplane rating here in the United States now.
Dude!!! How cool is that please!!?? I have a question: How have you made it possible to "land out" at the ferry gate? How can one make a legal request for that? I mean,... I am flying for the navy and know that aviation in Europe is a highly restrictive thing,... but man, how?? If there is a way to make this legal, I might considering getting a gyro too. Oh by chance, do you know if there is a chance for IFR certification for these types as well? That would be boos. Cheers!
Wow. Absolutely fabulous. I'm soooo envious, lol. I though the police were very helpful.. what a nice gesture to escort you and then watch you fly right of the road.. amazing. Iceland looks lovely.. but bleak !! I must admit, I was a little white knuckled as you crossed the glacier.. all those deep cracks.. not exactly a good emergency landing site. Keep them coming, I loved this one. what a life.
I love the way it drives onto the ferry just like any car. Sehr cool video. I was lucky enough to travel Iceland in September 2015, and Lake Myvatn was the first place-name I recognised, and when you showed that first ash-crater I recognised it as the one I walked up and circumnavigated its rim!
This is one of the best videos about Iceland I have ever seen. Besides your gyro adventure was wonderful. I will give a try for a demo in a gyro flight. Thank you a lot for sharing. Best Regards
Yeah those glaciers were amazing. So cool to see them from the air like this. Very appropriate music too, reminds me of in-between instrumental music from Genesis' "Selling England By The Pound" and "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" albums.
Awesome adventure...amazing scenery...were you concerned where you would put down the aircraft if you lost an engine? Some of the terrain looked rather harsh for emergency landing...I love how you were able to drive on the streets to get gas and take off on their roadway. The aerial footage was incredible...I'm sure Auto-Gyro would love to get some of your HD videos...great job!
single engine flight over rough terrain is always a risk. The stopping distance of a gyro is only about 30 feet honestly so they could pretty much land wherever they want with minimal risk, even if it meant on sharp jagged rocks or the water.
Amazingly Beautiful.... My dream is to fly like this and have such an adventure.... Thank You for documenting such a profound journey. Enjoyed this immensely.
Aloha🌸! WOW! Beautiful Flight in a Beautiful place on Earth🌎! Do you enjoy Flying the Autogyro Cavalon/Calidus? Thank you kindly for Sharing this Awesome Flight👍! Namaste🙏!
Absolutely stunning scenery, and awesome flying! Had an introduction flight on a gyrocopter a few months back, and definitely will return to it once I finish my PPL(H)!
5:13 to 5:15 -- the computer screen display says 5.790 feet (European-style notation), whereas the "ALTITUDE" dial seems to be reading just under 5 thousand 900 feet. Which one is right? But more importantly, I notice there is a label (in some Scandinavian language) just under the "ALTITUDE" dial saying 'max. height 3500ft' ! Que?
What a great video! I am looking at AutoGyro's - what is the sound/vibration like? Does it take away from the experience? Question to anyone who flies AGs?
I have never flown a gyroplane, even if my cousin was the official test driver of Bensen in Europe in the 70s. Bensen built marine gyroplanes that flew towed by a speedboat.
Amazing! Currently on the way to my PPL(A) and this video totally sold me on gyros! I rode around Iceland on a motorbike in 2016 but it is so breathtaking to see the country from the air! I also immediatly recognised Hirtshals in Denmark. Hats off to you guys! Where did you land in Seydisfordur?
Wow, whilst I was n't there... I sort of was...Thanks for the great impression. Gyro-planes absolutely rock. They would be my choice if I wanted to fly privately. The safeness of the concept attracts me, as does the relative low take-off and landing speed.
Was your whale watching done at Husavik? Now that is a better way to see whales. It was great to see them from a boat, but to see all of the whale from the air like that is somethin' else.
we are talking about 1.800 Km -- how many litre of gasoline did you put total amount and what altitude you were flying - I believe that drones and gyrocopters is the first step closer to produce and develop the first flying cars
Just beautiful flying ! great camera work. Amazing scenery ! Loved the landing/T.O at the ferry. Would have loved to see you guys take back off in Germany. That is an amazing adventure
How did you managed to be able to land on the parking of the ferry? Did you had a special agreement? And how did you land in Seydisfjördur on the way back? There is no airfield there, right?
as a very enthousiastic person of gyroplanes and a PPL holder I would like to see an answer to above questions as they were also the question that popped right out when seeing the video... gyros are under ULM right, not helicopter....so they should be flown out of an airfield right!!! Anyway, amazing adventure and nice video...love it
I can't beleive you got authorized to land on the ferry car park ! Wonderfull ! Very nice video
WOW! Why did YouBoob recommend this to me 5 years too late? What amazing scenery.

I agree. I wonder if they got permission in advance.
I can't see P&O ferries from the UK being so helpful or accommodating.
They'd be 'jobsworths' gassing about 'elf 'n safety
2nd viewing. Thanks Gents for sharing with us! Best Regards.

I wish this channel wasn’t dead. That was very cool.

The best gyro tour over the net, like and subscribed of course!!! Ciao from Milan/Italy :) :)
This is by far one of the best TH-cam videos I have ever watched! Beautifully done!
I have become fascinated by these machines. I am praying that one day I will be able to afford to have one and fly it. For now I have no learners or professional licence. Dreams can become reality. I told my colleagues at work that one day I come to work flying it. I love those machines. Thanks for the videos.
Amazing trip!
How did you manage to get authorized to take off from roads with the police blocking it?!
Please do another video. This trip was very dreamlike. Maybe in another life I can do something like this.
Yes, the scenery is amazing. I think a lot of it is due to the lack of large trees, so the various mountains and mesas stand out in all their naked glory. Loved the scenery some of your overflights were risky especially large water and the he glaciers. Power loss would have been catostrophic..
That was really cool. My god that country has more rain than England but those gyrocopters seemed to be able to cope with it. There were smiles all the way so it must have been great fun. I'd love to do it.
That was the most coolest gyro flying I've ever seen. I love it when they aboard the ferry boat and put regular gas at gas stations. That's awesome.
Absolutely fabulous! My mind exploded from landing and boarding the ferry, a elegance way to explore the beauty of nature! Thanks for sharing , enjoyed a lot!
One of the best autogyro vids on TH-cam! Thx!!

This is one of the most amazing, beautiful videos I've ever seen on TH-cam!!! Amazing! Amazing!
Cheers!
I agree Roger, never seen a video so cool
Roger Dodger Aviation - yes!!
The most incredible journey and video. Congratulations folks.Greetings from Argentina.
Nice film, great sights. Cool that you could just drive for fuel and onto the ferry!
Great video. I've flown business jets and turboprops in Iceland, which is incredible, but I like this view better. Tigre and I are finishing up our gyroplane rating here in the United States now.
So far beyond awesome!!
Looks like an outstanding trip. I am just learning about Gyros. Super versatile. How much room/weight for luggage in the two seater?
What a life! Let's take the Gyrocopters guys and go sightseeing to Iceland! Awesome!
Dude!!! How cool is that please!!?? I have a question: How have you made it possible to "land out" at the ferry gate? How can one make a legal request for that? I mean,... Actual freedom. Both in the air, and on the ground. Could never do that here in Canuckistan.
Just imagine ; CHINADA is now so much more further away from freedom than when you first made this comment ❗😳😒
Great video. Did OY1029 lose his spinner?
It was so good to see you landing at Akureyri airport, which I did in a passenger twin turbo-prop from Reykjavik, brought back a lot of nice memories.
Wow. Absolutely fabulous. I'm soooo envious, lol.
I though the police were very helpful.. what a nice gesture to escort you and then watch you fly right of the road.. amazing.
Iceland looks lovely.. but bleak !!

Stunning scenery really well put together video. I'm sure the B roll is just as good
Great video... cheers!
Unbelievable!! What a vid?! Thanks for sharing
Thanks guys, really enjoyed your trip!
…easily the coolest thing I’ve ever seen on utube…I want IN!…
I love the way it drives onto the ferry just like any car. Sehr cool video. I was lucky enough to travel Iceland in September 2015, and Lake Myvatn was the first place-name I recognised, and when you showed that first ash-crater I recognised it as the one I walked up and circumnavigated its rim!
the autogyro is a wonderful apparatus! Felipe De León, pilot of the youtube channel, greets you TODO HOBBY
I keep watching this video every so often. Great job guys!! Love the getting on and off the ferry!
Awesome adventure guys, thankyou
Looks like a Cavalon AND a Calidus? Any preference between them?
This is one of the best videos about Iceland I have ever seen. Besides your gyro adventure was wonderful. I will give a try for a demo in a gyro flight. Thank you a lot for sharing. Best Regards
Fabulous adventure!
Howdy! It's been a long time since you folks have made an AutoGyro trip video! I live vicariously through these! Hahahaha... cheers!
Wow! Electrically scarred landscape... The volcanic crater! Classic!
Such a cool trip! Those things are great! Can you fly in heavy rain? Driving on the ferry & down the road was amazing!
So awesome so fun to view God's BEAUTIFUL Creation.
Thank YOU for letting us 'sit on your shoulder'...!
Thank you for this video. I drove through many of the places you flew over, really nice views from the air. Good luck and fun in all your adventures!
wow epic! amazing vid! Thanks for sharing :)
*What a great flying tour, and time you must have had. Thank you for sharing it with us all* 👍👍👏

They take them risk, because I didn't see safe place to land, in the most of the cases
single engine flight over rough terrain is always a risk. The stopping distance of a gyro is only about 30 feet honestly so they could pretty much land wherever they want with minimal risk, even if it meant on sharp jagged rocks or the water.
Brilliant! Great footage, what an adventure.
Wow. Thanks letting us come along on a magnificent adventure with you. 😀👍
Awesome! I fly a home built gyroplane along the Texas Gulf Coast, and I have flown a Calidus also, what beautiful landscape!
Simply amazing guys. Will need to do this trip too... SOON!!!
Did you?
I guess it´s the 10th time I watch this video.... pls more! I so fell in love with gyro´s because of you guys!
I can't imagine a more pleasant adventure.
Wish you kept uploading... You had tons of potential! I enjoy your content
How COOL is that!
What % of thrust is delivered to the main rotor via the engine transmission?
Amazingly Beautiful.... My dream is to fly like this and have such an adventure.... Thank You for documenting such a profound journey. Enjoyed this immensely.

Rocket parachute on the center of the rotor?
Very nice! But I wonder how you got away from the little airports, where you slept etc ... Did you have a ground crew?
I have never flown a gyroplane, even if my cousin was the official test driver of Bensen in Europe in the 70s. Bensen built marine gyroplanes that flew towed by a speedboat.
What is the maintenance schedule like on an auto gyro?
Amazing! Currently on the way to my PPL(A) and this video totally sold me on gyros!
I rode around Iceland on a motorbike in 2016 but it is so breathtaking to see the country from the air! I also immediatly recognised Hirtshals in Denmark.

Would love to own one of either one!
Amazing! What a fantastic adventure!
Incredible journey
Absolutely amazing gyro adventure! The camera work was superb.
See, we DO have flying cars.
What’s the brand Of Autogyro, and why did you choose those? Did they sponsor you?
Was your whale watching done at Husavik? Now that is a better way to see whales. It was great to see them from a boat, but to see all of the whale from the air like that is somethin' else.
A pretty gutsy adventure, I think if you had gone down anywhere your chance of recovery is minimal.
Seems like a wonderful and free country
What does an average one of these cost?
I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this video!
Cool video! Loved it!
Excelente travesía mis felicitaciones por la máquina unos capós
Excellent Endeavor! Thank You for Sharing!! :-)

Best Autogyro video ever!
And Willis comments about the weather are great 😂
Found this by accident holy shit talk about BUCKET LIST ! THIS WOULD BE IT ! WOW I AM BLOWN AWAY YOU GUYS WERE SO LUCKY@
Just beautiful flying ! great camera work. Amazing scenery ! Loved the landing/T.O at the ferry. Would have loved to see you guys take back off in Germany. That is an amazing adventure
Is this Rotax powered?
How did you managed to be able to land on the parking of the ferry? Did you had a special agreement?

gyros are under ULM right, not helicopter....so they should be flown out of an airfield right!!! Anyway, amazing adventure and nice video...love it
Genial saludos cordiales desde Patagonia Chile.. Es mi gran sueño de volar en un autogyro
That was fun. Thank you.
It’s amazing how this thing flies so much like the airplane but needs very short rolling distance to land!
