THATS why I think that it’s implying that every dimension has a friend group like that. Also, those girls don’t act like regular girls. They like to stay out of the drama and trends. Trust me, there is always a friend group like this, and I like that. I’m also not saying boys can’t have friendships like this, but it’s most likely girls. One parodies and makes fun of the genre while simultaneously exploiting it to the max and the others theme overwhelms any stereotype the viewer might have built up in their head through its pure brutality.

I have a theory and it might sound dumb but it does explain a lot. Both Popuko and Pipimi are primordial beings that have been around maybe even before this universe. Coming from this kind of anime you would expect something more silly or random,but to me they are preety poetic and self reflecting : "the spirograph I pictured a geometrical patern of destruction and creation", "remake the world" it's all about cycle and repetition, creating by destroying what's established. In a way it's demiurgical and somewhat similar to Rimbaud's Illuminations, and that's something I can appreciate in a anime where one of the most popular skit is just two characters moaning "Marilyn Monroe" over and over.

I have a theory and it might sound dumb but it does explain a lot. Both Popuko and Pipimi are primordial beings that have been around maybe even before this universe. Would explain why to us their behavior might seem so erratic. It's merely cause we cant comprehend their true scope. If you believe this dumb assumption of mine the intro makes even more sense.
