You got to get the right chord book thought! If you don’t have the right one you can get lost real quick. A lot of the chords in some books are not correct just be mind full of that. @@SautariX Mel Bays Encyclopedia of chords 1971 but correct chords have to be circled in the book for the correct chords to make sure it is correct in this book. It has for example 20 ways to play the specific chord but the some of the problem all chords that are displayed are not correct. Meaning chord is not the specific chord and it has the wrong notes and or roots that are not correct Hope this helps.
One thing I realized over time, is that books often chart chord without the bass note leading to a lot of confusion. But the books aren’t wrong, in a band setting this is appropriate, but they often only say it once in the beginning of the book. A good example is all of Tim Pettingale books , especially “jazz guitar chord creativity “. All the reviews say the chords are charted wrong, but they’re not wrong at all

Well really what they play on the record is a B7 #5#9 chord. Which is basically a tritone sub.
