True my mom go rped from age 3 till 16 by many men at her own home and she is the kindest warm hearted person i know i think yes people who hurt other people should be punished severely and harsh but yeah
very very true. lived with narcissistic roommate for 2 years. was so restricted and could not call her out for the things she has done or confront her because anytime i did she told me her parents are dead...and then go on doing everything she does. its very difficult to explain to others but there is a difference between using situations like that and actually dealing with that. finally went to a psychologist for help
The accent, voice, modulation, set up, compassion...really really gives an aura of professional journalism. Also the fact that you manage to say it in the most kindest way, makes you an awesome narrator..
Even if they have severe trauma that has been on the record, it will never, EVER excuse the heinous acts they commit against others. A child who was a victim of a predator who later goes on to become a predator as an adult is still responsible for their actions, no matter the trauma they experienced in their early life. It can explain the possibly why, it doesn't excuse it. I think a lot of these kind of ppl did experience something traumatic earlier in their lives. But there are so many who deal with trauma who do not go on to hurt others. They are actually at higher risk of becoming victims of abuse, if anything. So I choose to believe that yeah, she likely experienced trauma as a child, likely exactly what she said. But that will never excuse what she did to Sawako and the methodical nature, the fact she was benefitting from Sawako's death in some way, means she is 100% responsible and was of sound enough mind to know she had to hide what she had done. You don't chop someone up and slowly run them through a cycle kg by kg in a food waste disposal without planning that out and being present enough of mind to try to hide things. No need to invalidate a history of trauma to say "Yeah, still not gonna get you off the hook cuz your actions said you did this for money and you knew very well exactly what you were doing and that it was wrong enough to society for you to try not to get caught." Her actions alone were enough to show she had clear intent and motive, as shown by the ruling.
As someone who suffered multiple traumas and didn't get any help until just 20 years later, I agree. If anything, my experiences gave me compassion and better understanding of other people's situations and such. I know that not everyone responds to trauma the same way, but using trauma as an excuse for being an evil person is the reason people like me are being stigmatised.

Stories like this make me scared to have roommates or renters. When my mom rented a room to her coworker friend to help her out, I made her give me ALL her personal info just in case. The lady was very nice & even helped me out watching my son on a few occasions, but not everyone is that lucky. If she were a complete stranger, I would have been wary.
During my intern years I was told of the old accountant who had a roommate who stole the company checks and forged her signature.
