Hello my friend! This was a perfect video! I learned the hard way,by stripping a helmet all the way down so there was nothing to worry about except the painting. Well, I ended up buying that helmet from the customer because I couldn't put it back together properly, among other things. One doesn't learn the valuable lessons on cheap products..........it seems to have to be on the expensive ones! Anyway, spring is here and I'm loving it!!!! Safe safe Ryan! Chow for now! Carl
That's a hard lesson my friend! 🤔I've removed them decades ago and found nothing but problems... so I started masking it... but only once...🤔 kept getting realy rough edges...🤓 so mask, unmask, clean and repeat!!😁 Lol I like to think the best lessons are learned through our failures! 😉They seem to stick out the most!! 🤘😎 Big Cheers and Much Love from the BloodShot Studio!!🍻

After these steps.... what do you prime with? Or straight to paint for base coat? I just did a helmet in Createx Airborne sealer, covered it in transfer tape (prefer not to put masking tape on the paint cause it sticks too much), drew out my designs .... and hours later as I cut parts of the design out to paint it peeled the sealer right off! 😡 Beyond frustrating. I’ve done all the previous steps you just showed. 🤷🏻♀️
Hmmmm.... 🤔😁I honestly have never used the Createx Airborne sealers. My process if the helmet is new or in good condition starts with a thorough wetsand with 600. Then a red scratch pad for the edges. Give it a good clean, then I then start to apply my paint directly to the sanded surface. I try to always allow for ample dry time before any masking. If I can leave it overnight, I usually do. 👍 Then mask, cut, peel and spray the next layer. And repeat. Now with all that said. I still have peeling problems from time to time. I haven't found a perfect solution. I've just gotten fairly efficient at fixing them..😁😉 lol! I hope this helps you to be less discouraged! Peeling is kind of a "nature of the beast" in this industry. 🤨😁 Big Cheers and Much Love from the BloodShot Studio!!🤘😎🍻
First, I would like to thank you very much for taking the time and effort to share your experience. I find it hard to find airbrush supplies here in Ontario. Happy to be of service my friend!! Personally, I farm out all the base coats, clear coats and such to an autobody shop.
