- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has dominated my life over the last month so I want to talk about the platinum trophy experience. This game is a ton of fun.

I don't think it's a "cop-out" if you look for guides online on how to do certain challenges. It's just a different point of view. You earned it bro, skill is still the main issue and you sir have the skill. GGs
I agree. I'm not particularly a fan of looking for guides but sometimes I look then up and modify them to fit my personal playstyle.
For the Tonberrys there is an acc. called the safety bit that stops instant death. Makes it much easier.
Safety Bit is one way. The other is the Karmic Cowl which also gives a bunch of defense.
I just used the projectile shield aerith has and spammed firaga
Took me 220 hours… mostly because it took me almost 20 hours on bonds of friendship and like 12 hours on rulers of the over world.
Didn’t struggle much on hard mode besides mythril golem, rufus, and gi nattak
Platinum took me 200 hrs. The brutal and legendary challenges took me way too long. Fantastic game though, can't wait for it to come out on PC so I can 100% it again
Great video. Also tip for the cloud legendary bout, on the white terror, you can cast sleep on him to make the fight way easier.
great video im surprised it doesn't have more views. I just finished the main story and I'm honestly dreading all the hard mode challenges and boss fights, maybe this shouldn't have been my first FF game lol
I'm curious what your perspective on the story as a first time fan, because it can be pretty meta at times
Also be honest, did the end make you tear up? If yes nothing wrong with that I'll admit now I definitely did as a long time fan, but is it as impactful for new fans?

@@justhaku9240my first was remake, second was 16! Then I purchased og on ios and played all the way till the end of remake ( like 5hours 😂😂😂)
Now to your question. I felt a bit underwhelmed when that scene happens ( of course I like 99.9% knew about it) and I felt a bit robbed like they didn't allow me to grieve in some weird way. Edit: i mean it all happened so quickly and was very confusing at the beginning!
Tbh the ending dawned on me like 2 days later and for some reason no promises to keep got stuck in my head. I liked the ending and felt it like 2 days later!

And yeah im not looking at the ff7 reddit daily but im deep enough in the community to be listening to some podcasts and a lot of people feel the exact same in the "didint allow us to grieve" even in those exact words, like they didint let the emotional moments breath it was tragic, into confusing into a boss fight with 10 stages into more confusion it didint give much time to let it sink in or look back. And yeah im 2 week since finishing and still thinking about it I get it
How was 16? A lot of people didint like it purely because it isn't trying to be an RPG but im guessing as a new time fan you don't have the expection of it adhering to tradition you enjoyed it a lot more? Personal I fkin love that game flaws and all its beautiful, cant wait for the dlc in a week!
@@justhaku9240 yeah honestly the 2 hours of bosses after the scene! + not really knowing wtf was going Im still avoiding reviews or podcasts cause some just go into whats coming next and I have no clue! But it took me literally 48hours and doing that chapter again to actually process it.
Now 16! I loved the combat, the cutscenes were freaking fantastic! Boss battles were as epic as could get. BUT I LOVED HAVING A PLAYABLE PARTY IN REMAKE.
And during the demo (10/10) i got the idea that I was gonna use joshua again!
Sorry for the ramble BUT my complaint is not having a playable party! Hated that cause I saw cid, jill and joshua's beautiful combat animations, they had combos and skills! And the whole time I was like I WANT to use them! And THOSE moments would've hit a lot harder! Still a strong 8 tho

Hearing you say it really isn't as hard as people are saying was so nice, I'm about to start the Brutal challenges and was getting nervous. Up to this point, curls were the only thing I'd gotten frustrated with, so that makes me feel way more confident!

Harder because of the more action combat nature. Execution will be inherently more difficult than with tb combat
Its not as hard as people make it out to be. Some materia comboes are legit broken. If you struggle just look up a guide. I used a quake strat that literally obliterated the first 4 or so brutal challenges first try. Dont get me started on yuffies brumal form and how OP it is. What you unlock for the last brutal challenge will trivialize the rest of hard mode.
FF7R so far is easy to me even on hard bc of 1 simple thing. And thats being able to open a command menu to slow down time. So overall, id rate ff7rebirth's platinum difficulty as a 5/10.

I actually found Zack to be quite good, but you have to engage with his Quick Charge mechanic.
High Braver is reaaaaally strong.
Yeah, I regret saying he wasn't good. I think at the time I still needed to learn how to play as him well. After eventually finishing the challenge I changed my mind and think he is good but is harder to learn than the other characters
High Braver demolishes Sephiroth even on Hard Mode.
For me I love the story and characters too much and want to “go out on a high note” instead of trying all these things beyond my skill and putting myself in a bad mood whenever I think about the game

As somone who platinum the game in 168 hours. No, this platinum was HARD
In particular if you aren't good on mini games, like at all.
and it seems in combat I wasn't as good as a I thought. If you think it was easy then that just mean you are a more skilled player, this is honestly way harder than REMAKE, heck remake only has 1 awful trophy and that is getting all 9 dresses because how TEDIOUS it is.
hard disagree. I'm casual at gaming and barely struggled on any of the mini games. thanks for the internet i guess for other ppls strats. the internet made all the vr challenges trivial. you can do almost everything in easy mode. get the gotterdammrung and make hard mode trivial.
its def not a hard plat by any means, just time consuming for some if you take your time.
also, the fact you can slow down time in the commands menu to plan a strat out freely is kinda op. but it went well for the style of the game.

Everytime I have trouble I look things up, but those of you that figure out these things on your own, that’s crazy
If you think a member of your team is going to get caught in the way of an attack, you can use the standard synergy attacks to teleport them from wherever they are on the battlefield, to by your side. So that negates the AI getting tripped up sometimes.
The piano mini game is what ruined my desire to platinum the game. I don't know who's idea it was to split one joystick into 8 directions but I literally can't do any of the songs because the stick has no margin for error and I can't switch directions fastbwithiut the stick hitting the wrong direction. Haven't been able to beat a single song

Well piano and last two legendary bouts. And lat chapter hard mode I’m only 320 hours in I struggled with many things. Lol
i feel RNG plays a bigger part than people realise
Interesting hearing what parts people had trouble on. I'm 180 hrs in and have 87/88 collectibles. Just beat Dyne on hard mode. Thought he was difficult, but it only took me one try. Just stuck fire+mp absorb and fire+magic focus and kept using firaga. ATB boost and chakra kept me from dying. I went ahead and did ch.12 on hard mode to get the Yuffie's Lovesless collectible and allow me to do Aerith's date and Loveless performance when I go through it again. Rufus on hard mode was definitely a pain in the ass. Can't wait to get the platinum!!

Aerith round 1 is actually really easy if you put up her lustrial shield(?)
Whatever the move is that puts up a flower shield in front of you. The humans shooting you are now completely neutered. They don't even run at you, they just keep shooting at the shield. Just take out the two robots flying at you, and this round ends pretty quickly
I gave up and moved on from getting the platinum on this game. It's just become too tedious and its no longer fun.
Same here a 2nd play through doesn’t sound fun and seeing the Vr fights yeah I’m good
I platted this game and I did it bcuz it was tough and also if u want to resist the ton berry instant death u can use the safety bit and just mash
Using Prime Mode (need to equip materia and cast it) as Cloud is much better than Punisher mode, as it automatically counters if you're blocking, and the successful counter fills up a ton of ATB. It makes certain late game fights on hard, and some aspects of Brutal and Legendary easier.
Another tip for the 10 tonberries. Have Aerith put up a lustrous shield and magnify your favorite aga spell. The shield blocks Rancor but you still gotta try to nuke em fast before they teleport behind you.
Instant Death immunity makes Chef's Knife do 0 damage. So long as you have two characters that are instant death immune, that round is pretty easy.
just got my plat and the 2 bosses i struggled with are gi nattak and the final boss final phase (hard mode)
for chadley's challenges the tonberry king was very annoying and the rest got easier after following some guides on youtube (yuffie cheese for brutal 6)
Anyone else looking for ways to be outer worlds without having an aneurysm?
I remember nwed to keep yuffies shuriken in her hand durimg windstorm on the cactuar trail as it didnt seem to work very well at all.
Two Safety Bits and a Karmic Cowl made that Tonberry fight quite trivial and inconsequential
The hardest part of the last boss fight was selecting the correct "try again" option from the game over menu.
Went with the wrong option at least twice and had to redo the WHOLE fight...

Halfway through Hard Mode now, then the trophy is mine. Possibly the most painful plat I've ever done, and I have the plats for most Yakuza games.
I beat Dyne first try. Gi Nattack on the other hand was a massive road block for me!
I'm at 420+ hours and still not done. Mind you, about half of that is walking around and taking selfies.
The combats weren't that bad. What made me want to break my controller was the piano and the sit up mini game.
piano was easy. we didnt need the star thank goodness
tonberry is easy tho, just put an accesory to make you immune for instant death on the character that you will be controlling. Its trivial
It took 190hr to platinum it, so not really easy. From my point of view the most annoying fight or part was the one with Cait Sith solo and the boxes, I hated him.
I realy dont know why people has so much trouble with all those tomberies, i did it second try, first try i was like oh i didnt know this will happen so for try 2 i equipped Barret with accessory to nullify death and then Barret just soloed all of them with ease.
i just need to do the simulations and i just cant its just so tricky! D;

I'm still struggling on hard mode and feel so behind everyone else playing the game.can't seem to crack that final gauntlet and I have watched so many guides and am still coming up just losing to final sephiroth repeatedly,it makes the confidence wane for sure

you only have to beat the game on hard just the story. and thoss end game vr missions. you can play the rest on easy
Dawg the brutal challenges and legendary challenges are locked in hard mode... And you have to play a second playthrough on hard mode anyways lol.

There is nothing "cheat" about whatever you do. The end game contain is absolute dogshit and whoever designed it had clear intentions of making the user suffer, not have any sort of fun. Zero respect of player's time either. If I could cheat every single VR mission or hard mode mini game bullshit I would do it in a heartbeat.
i think ive never hated a game more in my entire life, everything was annoying at best and infuriating at worst
story is mid, movement is plain bad, minigames are awful and open world stuff is on par with ubisoft games
il give it credit on visuals, music and combat tho, stll 5/10 game at best
I don't agree with your assessment. The story is awesome. The world is fully realized and exploring it was fun. The mini games, however, are complete dogshit, along with the VR challenges. Just playing the game first run without much side content is at least 8.5 out of 10, maybe 9.0 for nostalgia
but im rewieving it as a whole, dont care if its optional i didnt have a good time with it and felt very padded to me

@@diegobrando5800 sounds like you didn’t grow up with FF7 the way I did. 5/10 is way too low. Story is not mid. It’s complex and has great world building and character development. Nothing is wrong with the controls because it’s balanced based on the character archetype and how they should move. And why would the now standard open world system adopted by most publishers be a bad thing? There’s objectively nothing wrong with that either. Your gripe with optional content I can agree with but holistically the game does not deserve a 5/10 just because you didn’t enjoy side content that is not required to do
